OK, I couldn't wait and went ahead and called. They're bringing Gary's mom home right now, and are on the road. They're having trouble with the phone lines and the computers. The phone's working, but they need to do something else before they can get back online and the phone company has promised them the last couple of days to have it fixed, but have not done so yet. Hopefully soon. Maybe it'll be fixed tomorrow, as the phone company is supposed to try again. Looks like his mom is going to get to come home, at least for now, and they'll be taking care of her.

Thanks for the update, Calamity!

Sigh - the way things are looking, I might miss the welcome back party - with my surgery coming up and all.

Oh well, if that's how it goes, I'll just be the caboose!

I haven't been here long but I miss the cowboy with the six shooters too. Glad they will be back soon.

Just have to add that the 8 track with Jack Van Impe playing the accordian was a real surprise. I did not know he ever did that. Looks a lot younger there too!

Poor Jack. I do believe he is from Michigan. His niece was my roommate at college. :noidea: (Yep, I'm just a name dropper...LOL)

Dear Calamity, Thank you so very much for sharing. Patsy and I have e-mailed off the board, and she is truly a beautiful person. I enjoy so much, reading Gary and Patsy's posts. I too have missed them. God Bless, SHALOM

Thank all of you for all the concern. The phone company finally got our phones fixed tonight so we are back. Thank the Lord. We have missed you all so very much.

I had to go after Gary's mom by myself. Gary had what we found out was stress attacks after we called the ambulance. They act like heart attacks except that he didn't sweat like he did with a heart attack. Still very scary and ETMC said call them anytime and not to wait with Gary's heart like it is. They said that they had rather come out 100 times than me not call and it be the real thing. His mom was and is causing a lot of stress to Gary. So ya'll please continue keeping him in prayer.

His mom is on Haldol (sp?) so she is calmed down somewhat. She is on six different meds so she is highly medicated Cats. We sure couldn't handle it if she wasn't. She is wanting to stay with us for the time being anyway. We will see how things go.

I also had to take Gary to the doctor about his broken foot today. It still has not healed and he is to keep the cast on another month. I talked to him about surgery on his foot and that may have to be done. Wayne's wife was kind enough to take time out of her busy schedule to advice me on what to ask the doctor. I sure appreciate her so very much.

Yod's wife called and talked to us about wonderful nursing home incase Gary's mom had to go there. I visited that home and it is extremely nice. I am sure if and when the time comes that is where we will take her to. Hopefully we can keep her home for a little while longer.

We have a mess here on our hands. The house is filthy and I have been cleaning for what seems like forever. Dirty toilet paper every where and hanging in plastic bags in closets, etc. Pans full of grease in the cabinets and all the silver ware was filthy. We didn't realize how bad Gary's mom is until she went to the hospital and I started cleaning. We never came over and went through her kitchen cabinets, or bedroom closets or drawers so how were we to know? Anyway, she is calm right now and sleeping for the moment. Our kids came this past weekend and helped us move, and Gary's sis and her friend came over one night and helped me clean on the kitchen some. With the daughter, granddaughter, daughter in law and sister in law and her friend the kitchen is still not clean. I should be in there cleaning more rather than sitting her talking but have missed you all so much.

I so need ideas on how to stop her from being able to go in our bedroom. All of her medicine is in our bedroom and so is Gary's meds and mine. I bought some bed/bath door locks and they can be opened with anything. If anyone knows what I can do to prevent her from getting in the bedroom please tell me.

That is what has been going on in our lives while we have been gone. It sure is nice to receive such a nice welcome back from ya'll.

Calamity thank you so much for telling everyone what is going on. I am so glad you called me yesterday.

I have to go read about Gary's party everyone is throwing for his return back to the board. He is tickled pink about his welcome back in the other thread. :noidea:

Neb be sure and let us know how surgery went.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
