speaking for my self i would take the narrow road as many take short cuts and most Will avoid this narrow road that is pointed out in this scripture passage in Matthew i am a type of person that believes in straight talking if you are going to correct me and throw AL sorts of scriptures with out hearing what i am saying i will not listen i like those that preach the truth instead of watered down sermons this just is wasting my time if you are going to preach a watered down sermon to me

i have several close friends who are strong pastors and these men do not beat around the bush they preach as if it was god speaking to them and when you hear gods word being preached like this you dare not Winne or complaine

as i have had many try to tell me things that just did not match with gods word some even new the bible well but it was not matching to what it said in gods word or how Jesus would expect us to behave

the reason i feel most do this is fear of loosing those that have committed to the church so many will just not preach the truth of gods word as i have been told several are too scared to do this and speaking for my self i feel that this is wrong to do its just miss leading

living the Christian life is not as simple as some say it is as living this life comes struggles and also hardships and this is what i feel that this passage to me is saying god wants me as a person to stay on the path he has me on with out looking to the left or looking to the right as i grow challanges will come as i mature temptations will come as i seek out god things will become hard for me as i move forward those close to me will leave me even my own family members and this has happend already no one on my mothers side wants to know me the more i grow the more its going to get hard but i want you to stay on this path and grab hold of me

in the church i am in now my pastor speaks nothing but the truth and he says it bluntly if you do not like hearing the truth of gods word being preached like this go some wear else wear you will be happy don't come hear pointing or complaining as i Will not lead gods people astray like so many have been by those who preach a watered down sermon

straight talking or being honest and open is the best way and i have told new christians that i have led to god do not expect this life to be so simple be prepared to do the hard yarns be ready to face thing head on by me doing it this way at least i am telling them openly i dont see how this will hurt a new christian and you can lead them to gods word and tell them god wiil give you the strength you need to endure the hardships that come your way

thanks for this

Well, you have to realize we're thinking of this as if we already knew the answer. But what if we didn't? What if we didn't even known what was at the end of either road?

In a real life situation, if you got lost in the middle of nowhere and were trying to find your way back to the main road, would you take the large smooth road, or the thin and craggled one? Logically, smooth roads become smoother, and would take you to where you wanted to go. A particularly pessimistic person with a good imagination might even speculate that the small road takes you to a proverbial haunted mansion. What's the difference here?

It's not a trick question.

...but we do have the answer. Traveller made a great point here.

The road analogy makes me think of a car trip. Some will go out, invest in a road map, study the path and then pack the car. Others will pick up a map along the way, checking the direction at leisure. Still others will simply get in the car and go, with no direction. I've done that before. We ended up lost, ran out of gas stations, limped into small desolate towns with no motels, and eventually had to turn for home, out plans totally spoiled.

Our Father left us a roadmap to follow, written by the saints, with exact instructions. When we study His word, we're better prepared for the trip. It's not enough to say to take the narrow road, unless we know what that road is.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
