What upsets me about this article is, regardless how obvious, that the article does not mention that these youths were Muslim. If they had been Christians, you can bet, the AP would have written it in neon. But when its Muslims committing violence they feel it's better left unsaid in order to protect Islams' image or something. Perhaps I am naive but in my heart I always expected "good people" to be in the majority and instead I find that we are in the minority and our numbers are shrinking. The whole world seems to be teaming with people whose beliefs and perceptions are contrary to and in opposition to my own. We are told that God will write his laws in the hearts and minds of those that are his. I can see the evidence of this more clearly, in contrast, day by day. Christians are the most forgiving, understanding and generous people on the planet and yet they are welcomed in times of need and ridiculed and assaulted in the public arena. There is, as many have already noticed, open war against Christians and their core values and yet the world remains silent or oblivious to the violence created by those who practice Islam. If a person is killed for insulting the prophet of Islam, the people of "the world" shrug it off as though "thats just their culture". But a million times a day they will slur Jesus and not think twice about it. My heart aches at how they will suffer for their pride. In the end they will not be able to use ignorance as an excuse. They will all been given ample time, clues, hints, facts and opportunities to have made a rational choice, and they will have chosen to "go out in a blaze of glory" as they put it.

Facing such grim truth I want to pray for God to be merciful, but then I have to consider that God was and is as merciful as he can possibly be by sending Jesus to us that we might receive forgiveness and eternal life in him.

Heres the lastest article

Again the resist stating that they were Muslim. Instead it appears as though the AP is trying to paint it as more of a racial issue rather than a culture clash. One poster here said that these people were "brought in" as domestic labor. Somehow I don't think any of these peoples arms were twisted and chances are that their living conditions can't be worse than they were before they came to France. I have read articles, a while back, that indicated that many of the emigrants to Europe have been refugees fleeing the droughts, famine and violence in North Africa. Many European nations took them in and this is the thanks they get. Notice how the article state that the groups of "youths" consisted primarily of young Arab and black males. Many people think of the middle east when they hear the word Arab but these days there is a large population of Arab people living in North Africa. Lets not forget the Arab Muslim violence in Darfur against the indigenous black population. My point is that many, if not most, of these people that are supposed to be living in squalor in France and other European nations were refugees and not officially immigrants who went through the proper channels to get there. Just like in the Middle Eastern nations many of them don't have jobs. This provides them with plenty of time to commiserate, formulate their plans for Jihad and protest the latest insult to Muhammad.

A lady called in to the local talk radio show yesterday, whose husband worked in the oil industry, and basically said that as long as we are dependent on oil these nations will continue to thumb their noses at the rest of the world. But when the day comes that the oil is gone or no longer of any use, they will be force to roam the deserts again, as they did before. It's not likely to happen but it did make me chuckle.

Glory2000, " Of course, there are good Frenchmen; I'm talking about a large part of the population..."

Interesting you can judge a whole society of people with such sterotype and inflammatory statements. Your comments appear to be quite prejudice and discriminatory and do not demonstrate the love of Christ towards other large people groups.

Your comments appear to have been written by someone who didn't understand the last sentence....see above. Unless you have been to France, you really don't know. And the word you were looking for is 'prejudiced.' :emot-highfive:

I don't think this is a matter of judging the French people. It is well documented that there has been times in America of prejudice, bigottry, and racism. If you were to say that the vast majority of that was in the southern states, you would just be stating facts, not judging the south. The French disposition is not a secret, and as stated, there are good Frenchmen, but there is a place where a nation acts in such a way that they are considered to hold a general position in certain matters. That said, they are not necessarily "the rudest, most intolerant people", but they do have a French way that is well documented.

You're right, it's not about judging the French people. (Anyone who has been to France knows the attitude there is what it is and I would suggest that only visiting that country would make an American understand the overall atmosphere there.) It's about how the French got into the mess they're in with the muslims being 10% of the population and unassimilated. My statements about the intolerance of the French, and their attitude toward jobs and who deserves them, are correct and verifiable. :emot-highfive:

Fox news article

Reading this article I couldn't help but think that these "youths" they are referring to, both black and Arab, HAD to be muslims and yet they don't mention it. Why do you suppose this is? I would bet my left eye that they were and the reluctance of Fox News to say so causes me to question how much they are leaving out of other articles. While I have considered Fox to be conservative I can't help but wonder what they hope to achieve by being so vague and leaving such pertinent information out of the piece.

Even so, the article shows that France, in particular, is paying for it's stupidity. They gambled on the idea that Muslims actually wanted to be part of a multicultural society and have been, instead, taken advantage of. As I understand it, they not only payed for many of them to come to France but they also have most of them set up on a kind of welfare system. Despite their generosity they live under the constant threat of violence over trivial insults to the prophet of Islam.

I can't help but think of all that the Christian community has had to put up with lately. Atheists coming from every direction trying to drag us down and destroy this country that was founded on our core beliefs. Even so, theres almost no coverage of nor complaints about Muslim violence by liberals or left wing media.

We who have been blessed can see what is going on, but the rest seem totally oblivious to what some might consider "the big picture". I can tell you that I, for one, am grateful that I am no longer blind to the state of things. I still often find myself confounded and completely a gasp at how many people there are that can't or refuse to see the direction humanity has chosen. I was reminded earlier, by a friend, that things have only gotten worse since Jesus came to pay for our sins. Since that time Christians have been, as we have been instructed, spreading the gospel and despite the increasing numbers people that have and do hear His message, the world continues to become more and more like Sodom. To me, it simply defies logic that there are people that prefer chaos and violence to love and truth.

Well, enough babbling, I'm going back to work.

I think a lot of news we receive is framed, filtered and related the way they want us to perceive the content they feed us.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
