The first thing I feel led to bring to focus, is this:

What is the pattern for a nation in rebellion? There is a specific process in accordance with God's will. What happens to it? What do the prophets share and what is the historical pattern of the OT?

In His Love,

Suzanne

Hi Suzanne and company :D ,

It seems God keeps bringing me back to the book of Joel, the third chapter in particular.

Joel 3:1 "For behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem"

Now God is speaking here of the last days in this particular chapter, and He speaks of the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem.

Now I have read a book and heard commentaries that Judah represents the USA and of course Jerusalem is Israel, now if this is true, then it appears that we will both have a hostile take over and it appears lose our soverienty as a nation.

This is too hard to believe, seeing as President Clinton had signed it away right before he turned over the watch to Bush, and Bush put a stop to that as one of his first moves in office.

Also with the EU growing in leaps and bounds, which consist basically of the same super powers as the UN minus who else--The U.S.A. also it looks as if the EU is offering the entire middle east World Trade Organization membership! I really think that the UN is on its way out. And I think you can see where I am headed with this, but before I go too far, any thoughts.

In Jesus

Jeremiah 33:24 24 "Have you not considered what these people have spoken, saying, 'The two families which the Lord has chosen, He has also cast them off'?

We are on the same track, and I still go back to the question, what is the pattern of a nation in rebellion to God? What happens in it, and to it?

Hi Sis,

Great scripture referance in Jerimiah.

Now I noticed one thing that happens to a nation rebells against God is that they first eliminate or reject God as their authoritive guide. Is this the direction you are going?

Hey Suzanne,

Where would be a good place to look at, to get a good overview and let God speak of what you have on your heart?

There are so many things that seem to take place when a nation rebels against God, but God is so patient. These same rebellions all start on an individual level.

It usually starts with a rebellion to the first commandment , Thou shall have no other God before me.

Yes, that is the direction.

What are some other references to a nation in rebellion, and what exactly were they doing? It seems that in the case of Sodom and Gomorrah, it was right in line with Romans 1, wouldn't you say? Also, in line with Jeremiah 2:11, and Psalms 106:20. As you can see, OT and NT are still very much connected. Then the progression moves on to Psalms 107. The patterns of the OT, are still relevant to today. They are in progress now, and that's the part we must recognize. Just like Daniel, we must also ask, "What time is it"?

Suzanne

Again I ask, read the prophets, what are they saying to a nation in rebellion? What does that nation look like, what are the people doing, the priests/preachers in our case, the leaders? What do you see in the prophets about the nation and the church? See the specifics and let's see if we can point them out in terms of what exactly is going on, and if you can identify the similarities with us/our nation.

Suzanne

I believe that Ezekiel, especially chapter eight and Isaiah one are very good examples of the rebelliousness of ancient Israel, and what God had to say about them. Ezekiel 8 shows us what they were doing. In fact, it almost explains God's scathing remarks given in Isaiah 1.

Isaiah 1

Speaks of oppression. Who is oppressed? Those who stand on Truth.

Speaks of defending the cause of the fatherless. What cause is of the fatherless? I cannot think of a bigger cause of the fatherless, than abortion.

The case of the widow? Who is this? Maybe the elderly who is left alone, with no care nor defense, who is preyed upon by deceit and covetousness.

There are many examples of what is happening today.

I would compel you to also look at Ezekiel 7.

In His Truth,

Suzanne

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
