Amen Sis,

Here are a few verses that I think really gives one a picture of the war that will come before the Lords return also known as Armeggedon. nd also seem to point to the rapture.

"Proclaim among the nations, prepare for war, wake up the mighty men, let all men of war draw near; let them come up

Beat your plowshares into swords' and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, I am strong.

Assemble yourselves and come, all ye nations and gather yourselves together round about; there cause thy mighty ones to come down, O Lord.

Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat, for there will I sit to judge all nations round about.

Put in the sickle; for the harvest is ripe; come, get down, for the press is full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness is great" Joel 3:9-13

Could Joel be talking about the rapture here? Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. After all we are the harvest, as Jesus pointed out in John 4:35 speaking of those are to be saved.

"Say not ye, there are four months, and then cometh the harvest? Behold I say to unto you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest"

This is just a thought and I look forward to the replies.

Also lets continue with Joel Verse 14 For if the the above refers to the rapture, it happens right before tha war of Armegeddon

"Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision; for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.

The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.

The Lord shall also roar out of Zion and utter His voice out of Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth shall shake, but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel"

Notice the resemblance to the talk of the rapture in 1 Thes 4:16

For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout

Compare that with Joel's the Lord shall roar out of Zion. Also its interesting to note that Is pointing out two different groups of people or so it seems to me. It says that He is the hope of His people ! is this a referance to those who are in Christ? and the to the children of Israel

This of course being His chosen people.

Verse 17 "So shall ye know that I Am the Lord, your God, dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain; then shall Jerusalem be holy, and ther shall no strangers pass through her any more"

Is this a referance to the millinial kingdom?

I think there are many treasures in the old testament, and many do indeed make referance to the rapture, and in my opinion the above verses in Joel seem to point to it. Just my two cents.

God Bless, and I look forward to your replies (please be gentle :hmmm: :oww: )

In Jesus

Kevin

Hey Shilo,

This stuff you are bringing up never gets old brother, these festivals indeed point to the events that are to come.

So expound on them, I for one look forward to reading!

Now we're gettin somewhere!!! Thank you very much!

I just want to let you know, I'm going to be out of pocket today, as it is our Bible Study Day at the elementary school, so I won't be able to contribute to this until either this evening or tomorrow, but I am really loving what is being discussed!

In His Love,

Suzanne

Greetings All,

As with Shiloh:

The last three Festival deal with the Second coming of Messiah (The feast of Trumpets (Rosh HaShannah) Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), and Sukkot (Tabernacles).

I too believe that the "festivals" are "types" of ages which were to come. But I think I see them a bit differently than Shiloh does.

Rosh Hashannah - the trumpet was blown at the resurrection/ascension of Jesus Christ. The word has gone out into all the world.

Yom Kippur - this day has to do with the saints being "called out" of the then dying world/church. It is a time of being scattered in the desert, a place of atonement.

Sukkot, The time we spend "in the desert" awaiting to cross into the Promised Land.

These festivals, I believe, are the ages pertaining to life on this earth. From the beginning right up to the time of Christians being resurrected/raptured to be forever with the Lord.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Adstar,

why don't you read the whole thread before casting dispersions. In case you missed it, I offered an apology, twice above. If you saw that, then I really don't know what to make of your comment.

In His Love,

John

John offered his apologies here and according to what God expects of us, that is enough for Him and it should be enough for those Christians who are FULL of His Word and filled with His Spirit. Those who read the Word consistantly cannot help but be filled with the love of God, therefore forgiving petty little things, walking in forgiveness at all times and loving all brothers in Christ equally no matter what.

I know I'm risking inserting something here that is off topic again, but there is no rhyme or reason for harboring bitterness about this thread. After all, God is the only one that knows the hearts of those that post here and I can assure you my heart was in the right place when I posted in this thread. Out of ignorance on my part, without knowing I was doing anything wrong, I posted in this thread. Trying to stir up trouble was the last thing on my mind.

These are perilous times and regardless of what you believe, we all should make a convenant with God to forgive 70 times 7.

After all, Jesus did say to forgive 70 times 7, which means when someone apologizes to you, you forgive them and EDIT the offense done to you out of your HEART by forgiving them, because as it says in the WORD if you don't forgive your brother, God won't forgive you of your sins.

1 Corinthians 13

1If I speak in the tongues[1] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[2] but have not love, I gain nothing.

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Rosh Hashannah - the trumpet was blown at the resurrection/ascension of Jesus Christ. The word has gone out into all the world.

Actually that would be putting festivals out of order. Bikurim (first fruits is the festival that typifies the ressurection. Messiah is the "first fruits of the ressurection." Messiah was ressurected in the Spring. Using a fall Festival to typify a Spring event would be incongruent with the use of types. The type would be inconsistent with the anti-type. All elements must match.

Now, there are some who believe that Rosh HaShannah is a type of the rapture. Others believe that it is a type of the second coming.

The later believe that there are no signs for the rapture as it is a "secret" event.

I have to admit it is really hard to come up with much out of the OT that directly mentions the rapture.

Since this is about the rapture and OT, will not comment on the other festivals in detail. That would take us off subject again.

kitkat - Good word! And it does clear out some of the air that's been stirred, I believe.

Feasts - One thing I'm confused about.

I've heard it argued that the Feast of Tabernacles is a symbol of the Great Wedding feast.

I've also heard it argued that the Feast of Tabernacles is when Christ was born. ("The Word became flesh and He tabernacled among us.")

Any clarifications?

Yes, the wedding feast of the Lamb is a reference to the millenium of which Tabernacles is symbolic.

and... I also believe that it is when the Messiah was born. I personally believe that He was born on the first day of Tabernacles. It was on tablernacles that Messiah arrived to begin his spiritual Kingdom. It will be on Tabernacles that Messiah will one day begin His millenial Kingdom.

There is so much more to say... should I start a thread about this?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
