i am speaking for my self hear before any one decides to jump on me i am talking from my personal experiances due to what buck the system has shared hear and i had to read this thread to see were it is going

when i was not a christian i did what everyone did and that is i liked my alcahol i like my drugs and i liked the cigarets that i was smoking as in my family its normal for boys to start drinking alcahol at a young age and then comes the drugs we are all told by our parents and the teachers in our schools to avoid taking this on as we grow to be responsible adults

its so easy to layble people that are over weight or those who smoke and knock back services until they do something as they are seen as people of risk which is a joke one poster said why dont they give up the help is their people should not have to give up what they have been so comfterbal with and its as the goverment is dictating its views and saying you will have to obey

i can say the same thing for those that like alcahol its so simple to pick on over weight people and smokers but when it comes to alcahol its a very touchy subject all i see is the goverment wil not push this as thos who work in goverment offices or in the parliment drink its been around for a long time and we will just keep the lid on this and not rock the boat

i wrote a letter and got my friend to proof read it and fix it up due to my grammer not being that crash hot but i can read my own writting as grammer was at the back burnner and education also was put behind so i can survive

in the letter i said its time this goverment does the decent thing and realy do some thing for the country i said i would like to see al pubs all alcahol out lets and rsl clubs including those that sell win shut down but you wil not do this instead you place or are looking at stupid laws like stopping parents from smoking in the own homes to were you were even looking at anti smoking police entering homes and charging parents and telling a parent they cant smoke in a car to the point off picking on over weight people and forcing kids who are over weight to exersise due to many kids being lazy and eating junk food to were you almost shame the parent i said its a joke and i would like to see you charge me for smoking in my own home or in a car i find my self in well i did not hear anything as i feel what i said was not important

and reading what buck the system said in this new thread blew me away well i am not going to do something the goverment thinks is going to help me i like being the rebel i like my junk food like chips loolies and take away food like pizza chinese italian and indian food to hot dishes and hot chillies since i no longer shot up speed or herroin into my vains for a stupid rush that does not last long or getting smashed on pot or drinking beer and spirits to were i even had hash cookies and used this in my stews i did

this is like comfort food for me i also eat healthy food and i like salads and i love eating rice and pasta plus i lost a fair bit of weight so i did not do this because the goverment is seeing how obese our society has gotten and its like it needs to do some thing

i know christians who smoke cigarets and i also use to smoke cigarets and i did not let no one lay the guilt trip on me i feel sorry for those that do drink or smoke or are obese i am not picking on these groups as i to fall in line but when i decided to stop it was my choice i am happy for it and i no longer crave for what i was so use this does not mean we judge our brothers and sisters who do drink or who do smoke or who are obese and i hope this thread does not get de railed to were we know pick on this group i will be very hurt if i hear any one from worthy doing this but from the new topics that are already out on worthy its like an all in war

people wil stop when they say its enough why should the goverment have a right to dictate its laws and how it thinks if this goverment and those who are going to be pushing this want to get real take on the big problem and that is alcahol

ban this as i hate seeing what alcahol has done in the community i use to live in and what its also doing hear

as our australian goverment is also looking at this

but with guys like my self who want to rock the boat and air how we see it this goverment has a fight on its hands

that is my 2 cents worth to this thread

god bless from your brother in the lord damien stipic

This is the most horrible news item I've come across lately, and there have been some incredible ones. If something like this goes ahead I have to wonder if this government is planning to give these people that portion of their tax that has been taken all their lives to pay for their health costs, back, so that they can use the money to pay for private health care. For, say, a 40 year old it would be a great deal of money - could be 25 years of paying that part of their tax money. And I am wondering which group is next to be excluded: I'm guessing it will be the elderly. Now to be fair, imagine paying a healthy 80 year old all their healthcare tax money for the last 65 years, that they haven't used.

Smokers, drinkers and the obese beware: keep fit or risk losing NHS care

By JAMES CHAPMAN

Patients' rights are to be spelled out in a new NHS constitution, Gordon Brown signalled today.

It is likely to cover core treatments to which they are entitled, minimum waiting times and the right to be treated in clean hospitals.

But with the rights will come the responsibility to lead a healthy lifestyle. There were fears last night that this could lead to smokers and people who drink or eat too much being refused treatments.

Already around one in ten hospitals refuse to carry out joint replacements for obese patients or orthopaedic surgery on smokers.

The contract, first floated by Tony Blair was proposed by Gordon Brown in a New Year message to Health Service staff today.

The Prime Minister believes a new focus on the prevention of ill health, rather than curing it, is essential for a modern NHS.

Downing Street sources said he was not taking a "draconian" approach that would undermine the principle of an NHS free at the point of access to every citizen. But the contract could include a "general requirement" for people to keep themselves healthy. Patients' groups fear doctors and NHS managers will see this as a go-ahead to withhold more treatment.

Katherine Murphy, of the Patients' Association, said last night: "No-one would disagree with the sentiment but we are concerned that imposing a duty on people to keep themselves healthy goes too far.

"Hospitals are under enormous financial pressures and constraints. There has to be a fear that if people don't toe the line, they are going to be denied the treatment they are entitled to. In parts of the country, it's already happening."

Hospitals are currently entitled to draw up their own guidelines on access to particular treatments.

Doctors say the risks of operating on obese patients are higher and the treatment may be less effective, with replacement joints wearing out more quickly, for example. Smokers also have a higher risk of complications after surgery.

Health trusts in North Staffordshire have the toughest restrictions. Patients must have a body mass index below 30 and have not smoked for three months to qualify for any routine operation.

Research last October for the ITV1 programme Tonight With Trevor McDonald found that thousands of patients needing hip replacements or non-emergency operations have been either barred from treatment or told to come back when they have "shown a commitment" to become healthier.

In November, the British Fertility Society said severely obese childless women should be refused IVF treatment.

In today's message to NHS staff, to mark the organisation's 60th anniversary year, Mr Brown asks them to rally round the idea of a "more personal and responsive" Health Service.

He calls for "an NHS which is able to offer the help and support that we all need to make healthy choices for ourselves and our families".

The Prime Minister - battling to restore his Government's reputation after a disastrous few months - will set out plans to expand the "prevention agenda" in a keynote speech later this month, It will include moves to tackle obesity and further reduce the number of smokers.

Opposition MPs are likely to accuse the Government of an unwarranted extension of the "nanny state". Public health minister Dawn Primarolo was criticised in November when she told the middle classes they were drinking too much.

She said middle-aged couples drinking at home were a greater health concern than young people spilling out of bars.

Tory leader David Cameron will set out his party's plans for the NHS tomorrow. Last year his party proposed an NHS constitution telling patients precisely what treatment they were entitled to for all conditions.

But they have also said one of their first acts on winning power would be to go further and introduce a new, independent NHS board to free the Health Service from political interference.

Shadow Health Secretary Andrew Lansley said last night: "Giving the NHS a new constitution is welcome but this Government has been promising this for over a year with far no progress. By contrast, the Conservatives have published legislation to give real freedoms to the NHS based on shared values.

"NHS staff will be disappointed that Gordon Brown's message does not provide relief from the bureaucracy, top-down control and targets that consume so much of the time and care they could be directing to improving patient care."

The article states that costs for hospitals are under enormous financial pressures and constraints . I believe it has to do with profit margins. I do understand the need for people to lead more healthy lifestyles, but do you think hospitals would go out of business if there were no sick people to frequent them. This would be a temporary unrealistic fix. It's a social problem!

Also, hospitals are exist to provide care for the sick, they are really a business. I am reminded of a scripture where Jesus says he comes not for the well but for the sick. Christ is relating to the physically, emotionally, and spiritually sick. Shareholders want profits, so patients are charged astronomincal prices for ...say a tylenol. The costs of doing business are out of control and as usual, costs are passed on to the consumer. The hidden culprit is a spirit of GREED.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
