I have a question.

When people claim to have dreams, how can we tell when some can be taken seriously or no? I have met a lot of people who claim to have the power of prophecy vision/dreams and I would like to know that others say (using also the scriptures from the Bible).

Some dreams are from day to day events (often things that we have meditated or reflected on), eg, after watching a scary movie

I had a dream of something it goes like this.

I dreamt someone had killed many people and they poked the two eyes out, I was getting the blame for it and I kept repeating it wasn't me the one you are looking for is hiding under the ground.

The dream was so weird to me, I told my mother and better half of this dream. We all thought nothing of it until the two I's were taken down by aeroplanes then I understood what this dream was about.

As I said I believe the Lord does give us glimpses of what is to come.

I dream a lot and I've had my fair share of dreams, like this one:

I dreamed that one day me and my grandmother and everyone were called out to this place, and I think we went to this tower at sunset. There was some man talking to this whole crowd of people, and that were all amazed at what he was saying, however, I wasn't and I was looking out at the ocean, and there were two boats - one was a big army battle ship, and the other was the golden boat with these kind of hieroglyphic marks on it. And I think the golden boat represented heaven and the battle ship represented Armegeddon or Hell, or Earth...I wasn't exactly sure. Then, the man said that anyone who doesn't do this for me dies and they grabbed some people and killed them in a backroom. I was so scared I wanted to run but my parents told me to sit back down and I did, and the dream ended there.

Lol, strangest dream I've had in a while...lol.

Dreams are funny things if you ask me. I remember when I was a child I drempt it was the end of the world and I was running up this mountain and everything behind me was just burnt up and melting away.

Another dream I had as a child was I was always in a church and there was this black figure in there and it would always throw a child out the window, I would fly out to save the child.

One particular dream I had was about a cave and I had a scroll in my hand and I had to deliver this scroll to a person on the other side of the cave. As I went through this cave there was this awful beast in there he was scary, I prayed the Lords prayer and while I was praying he screamed something shocking and then disappeared, I made to the other side and then I woke up.

As I said dreams are weird. I have had dreams that have come true, even a vision while I sat on the toilet alone with the door open. When my roomy got home I told him about the vision a few days later on the news was my vision. hat freaked me out a bit, I wasn't a christian then and I was more into the other side of the spiritual realm of things. I am glad my Lord saved me from all that and opened my eyes to the truth.

Young and Old, Male and Female, all have received the promise of the Word of God, and from time to time, as God wills and allows, you may have dreams and visions that God gives you. This is not a "power" given to some few special ones, but a general promise that God will (at His chosing) visit His people in these manners.

People claiming special powers, special positions, or any other thing that sets them over the rest of God's people are deceived at best.

In all things pray and give thanks, and God will guide you with peace.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. 12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Joseph the husband of Mary received dreams that told him to go to Egypt and to return, and he obeyed those dreams, saving the life of Jesus (who was an infant at the time).

Scripture has already been posted that Yahweh gives dreams and visions. So whether it makes sense to us or not, that's what scripture says.

We need to find out if they're pizza dreams or from Yahweh.

If you have dreams or visions that you think of from Yahweh, I encourage you to keep a journal. Sometimes the meaning of one part of a dream or vision is given and the meaning of other pieces are revealed later. Pray and ask Him to reveal the meanings - He may use you or someone else (scriptural basis: Joseph). Then He will also confirm things through 2-3 witnesses (in scripture also).

After we're saved, we are all believers yet we have different functions - together we serve the body of Christ Jesus.

Scripture says Yahweh will give dreams and visions; therefore, He does.

The first step is to determine is this from the enemy, myself (pizza dreams), or Yahweh? So pray and ask for His guidance.

Saying that you've heard from the Lord or been given a dream or vision isn't to done lightly. It is through prayer and confirmation of 2-3 witnesses.

(He speaks to us constantly - Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" He uses many things including The Bible, a sermon, a book, dreams, visions, etc. "How to Hear from God in a Noisy World" is one resource to learn to hear Him better. Yes, we're to spend time with Him including in His Word. Often dreams and visions will cause someone to search the scripture more. For example, recently someone had a dream about birds and they wanted to see how birds were referenced in The Word.

Everything He does has purpose.

The Gifts of the Spirit are given when and where the Spirit of God see's fit....

a lot of times, people brag about what may or maynot have happened....

there are times that dreams serve a purpose, warnings, information, knowledge, wisdom.... some may be of a prophetic nature, in such a way that gives us a glimsp of what may happen should events continue as they are currently going.... i can give you a few examples..... 1. I was waiting for orders while stationed oversea's, and one night i had a dream about being escorted around and introduced to people in uniform, it was obvious to me that the dream was about a command i would possibly be seeing..... later, when i got my orders to Hawaii, I looked for this white hall way, I never saw it, I was stationed at Ford Island..... a few months later, I was advanced, and transfered to another department, for the department I was in, was overloaded with the rank i had just made..... the first day there, I met my new supervisor, and he was showing me around, as we made a turn, I saw the white hall way and as we walked down it, a man walked out of his office, and as my supervisor started to introduce us, I shook the mans hand as he offered it, and said "Good Morning Sr. Chief Cox, jHow are you doing?" he asked if we had met before ( cause he had not been introduced to me as of yet and he was not wearing a name tag) I said not really, ( i did not tell him that i knew him from a dream 9 months earlier).... this is one, I remembered the hall way, but nothing else really in detail about the dream until it took place......

another dream, this one i have shared before with some people, this was a warning to me.... A MAJOR WAKE UP CALL........

in the dream i was walking across a section of land, very flat in nature..... and way off in the distance, i saw what looked like a small hill, and that was my destination.....

as I approached the hill, it became evident that the hill was more then just a hill, but a mountain, so i thought.... i continued on my treck and the closer i got the larger it became and the clearer i could see it... it was not a mountain, but a gigantic pile.... a pile of round things, and it appeared they were made of stone..... when i arrived, i noticed that they were stone wheels (Mill Stones) and there was markings on them... NAMES..... i looked around and then i froze.... i saw one with my name on it...........i awoke instantly, gasping for air, and in a cold sweat, heart racing.....

I hit the floor with my knees.... no, i had not been physically harming anyone, ( a child is anyone that is alive, not just one that is under age of accountability, but ANYONE THAT MIGHT LOOK UP TO ME....

you see, my life was not one that Christ would have me living, my mouth was saying one thing, my body was doing another.... I was not walking the total walk..... there were things that would harm other peoples walk with the Lord......

I repented, and was changed in my ways, not just what I said, but what I did...... I pray daily, that everything I do and everything I say is for the Glory of God.... I am still not perfect, for i am still here and not on a cross, but am improving daily through the Grace of God.....

several months later, the dream came again, and as I approached the pile, my heart was already racing for what i thought might still be there........IT WAS NOT, IT WAS GONE, i searched it again to be sure....... THANK YOU JESUS FOR YOUR SALVATION PLAN IN MY LIFE......

there have been many other dreams i have had to go right along with this but will let it ride with these...

I have a lot of them but generally cannot remember any of it the next morning.
