Does God have a sense of humor?

Humor is a powerful tool of communication, but does God use it to communicate with us?

We were made in God's image and humor is a part of us, so I think God appreciates humor and even uses it sometimes in teaching us a lesson. What humans have done with humor is another thing entirely.

Let's just say He doens't have a sense of humor. He did give us laughter for a reason. Who can find anything more precious than the sounds of little children's joyful laughter. Laughter is one of the greatest stress relievers known to man. I can't see that God didn't give us that, so humor? Sure why not......

What makes something funny? Surprise? Is God surprised by anything? Or does He use our response to humor (surprise) to communicate with us? Or is this getting too heady?

Genesis 21
