Bless you saints ---

Jesus said,"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. [Matthew 5:43-48]

Maybe we should consider the Master's words when we discuss our enemies.

Blessings,

Wayne

wayne, i don't disregard Jesus's words, but I do not see in them any instruction from our Lord to stand quietly and be slaughtered, or to stand quietly and watch our enemies slaughter other innocent people. (innocent being a relative term, as none are innocent before the Lord)

we can love and pray for our enemies and still defend our nation. but the concept of 'loving one's enemies' meaning to be passive against their brutality against others, that's not love.

passiveness is not loving towards the enemy or your friends. let's scale it down to a smaller scale. if a woman loves her husband, but he abuses her children, does that mean she stands by while he beats them senseless? no, of course not... because that shows a lack of love for her children, and it enables her husband in his vile behavior. therefore, the kind of "love" she has for her children is inadequate, and the kind of "love" she has for her husband is warped and unhealthy.

it would be far more loving to use whatever means necessary to stop the abuse. you may say that killing him was unnecessary, but i'm reminded of an often rerun episode on one of the CourtTV forensics shows that documented a case where the husband shot his son while his wife watched. she loved him so much that she was uncooperative with the police, even though she was hysterical over the death of her son. the husband was finally cornered, and was killed by the police after the husband began firing at them, i think killing one or more of the cops. the wife was sentenced to prison for aiding and abetting and obstructing justice.

would it have been unloving for her to have grabbed one of the other guns out of the cabinet and killed the man she was married to? no, not at all. she could still have loved him, even while putting a bullet through him, and it would have saved other lives.

on a larger scale, we can still pray for our enemies, and love them with a devine love because they are part of God's creation, even while we use deadly force to save other lives.

:t2::D We agree LadyC. What you don't know is that two posts were deleted, which were inappropriate...posts that reveled in the death of our enemies.

Yes, I agree with you...meekness is not weakness! Remember, I am ex-military so keep what I posted in that context.

BUT, killing one's enemy is nothing to express joy over. It is nothing to joke about. It should be a painful experience, one that only the Spirit of God can comfort us over. I have never taken a life but I was trained and prepared to do so IF my country ever called me to do so in the defense of the defenseless.

Bless you sister,

Wayne

I guess one of those was mine, since I can no longer find it.

I think sometimes we christians can be to serious or overly critical. I only saw humor in Leonards post, but it doesn't mean that I was in agreement with the joke in a literal sense, but who knows, maybe ours views on these boards will be sensored before too long. Good Grief!!

I guess I should crawl in a hole and act like I feel guilty for something?

Well Rollin' - I never saw what you originally posted, but there's no need to crawl in a hole or anything else.

I guess the mod's are just trying to be very politically correct??? But not having seen the 2 deleted posts, I can't say for sure. I sure hope they're not tryin' to support the Islamic Terrorists because they are MURDERERS!!! I guess they're just tryin' to support love and gentle talk???

Who knows, they deleted them, as you pointed out.

Anyway - keep on rockin' - THUNDER!!!

Love you, :il:

Naw, there is no guilt for those of us who are in Christ, brother. If there was, I'd be right next to you in that hole!

Just for the record, we ain't trying to be "politically correct". We are just trying to keep our salt from losing any saltiness.

Bless y'all.

Amen!

I didn't feel convicted, as I still think what Leonard said was funny. But by the same token, I also understand where you're comin' from too.

Maybe next time

I'll just laugh instead of saying I think it's funny.

But then again,

maybe that's when the thought police will come to take me away. :oww:

Remember the Moderators are here to do a job and that is to keep things that might be offensive to many off the boards. Its a touch job so instead of criticism we should thank them for trying to be sensitive about peoples needs. I didn't see the two posts that were referred to myself but I suspect that if God were to read them He wouldn't have been too happy about them either.

I believe one of the posts was mine and when I wrote it I was focused on the terrorists and it was later that I decided it could have easily been taken for an entire group of people. When I went back to undo the problem it was gone.

I personally was very thankful for that.

It is nice to have someone pull your foot out of your mouth for you. The bad taste doesn't last nearly as long.

I didn't see what Leonard wrote, but I'm still glad it's gone.

It is no surprise from an unelected governing body of mullahs w/ chants of death to America death to Israel. It would lead one to believe they're our enemies.

The question is how do you convince the Democrats before more innocent lives are taken.

the typical liberal doesn't seem to think that any americans are innocents, they only believe in the innocense of the terrorists.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
