I only go with what the bible says, and since Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever {Heb. 13:8},I have a hard time believing that He calls women to preach. Besides my wife, I know several women who feel the same way,and in fact, I heard a woman on christian radio recently on a christian talk show even say that women are not to preach or usurp athority over the man. She said that women need to learn their role, and men need to learn theirs and stand up and take charge of their homes and the church. I was surprized to hear this from her.

I fight for the truth of God's holy word, and by the grace of God,I'm ready for the trouble that is to come. I already counted the cost when I decided to follow the Lord and stand firm in the truth. I am not a compromiser. The bible tells the role of women in the church, and I go by what it says, not by what some christians who have a problem with what the bible says. Not to sound smart of course.

You are right since your wife thinks they way you do, and since you heard a woman on the radio, it must be gospel.

What about Mary Magdalene, and the woman at the well, and Mother Theresa? These are all women God called, who were witnesses and who were used by God to lead Men and women to him.

I feel like people keep picking apart the Bible and choosing which ones will support their ideas. Read the whole Bible, not saying you haven't before, but do it again. Then, pray to God for wisdom and that your heart would be open for his leading.

I cannot believe how strongly some feel about women leading in the church. If God has called a woman to leadership, who's judge are you.

I am not a feminist in any way, but I almost feel drawn to feel probably what some of them might feel.

I am going to study this again, and again, until God helps me to understand what I am hearing on this forum. I am so fumbuzzled at the comments on this thread.

I hold a very conservative viewpoint when it comes to women in the church. I believe the Bible paints a beautiful portrait of the woman's role - and it is not in leadership. She has been given the gift of nurture, and of prayer. How many will say that prayer is an incredibly powerful thing? Yet, say that women's main role is to be a prayer warrior, and you are scoffed at and put down as 'sexist' and 'out of date'.

There can not be all chiefs and no indians. Chaos would be the result. God clearly established a headship, and an order. Why so many mistakenly think that it's an insult to women is beyond me - personally I think God thought more of women and gave them so much more responsibility than men. And - why do so many think "submissive" is a swear word? Yikes. It's God's word, and it is beautiful, and conducive to good mental health and good relationships. It also works two ways.

Like I said in another post - there are some who let pride get in the way and want the "glory" and attention of the pulpit. Why they don't get that ministry/teaching over the backyard fence or the kitchen table is just as worthy and important, I just don't get.

I don't even like to see women take the offering. (they do that in my church). Hey, I said I was conservative. LOL

You're just great WIP...what a wise sister we have on this board...not forgetting IR and SD and.... :t2:

To be able to see the blessings that God has bestowed upon your role as a woman is well... just awesome :t2:

Pity I couldn't fellowship in your church...I would like to get to know ya'll a little better :t2: :il:

Blessings

I agree 100% with Shelby.

Aside from that.....

I think that the whole male vs women role in the church has been widely abused. I believe that yes wives are to be submissive to your husbands (in James) and lilkewise the women should not per say have authority over the male.

buuuttt...... what about that verse , you are a royal priesthood, a Holy nation, a Chosen Generation....who's to say that we women aren't a part in that.

or even yet again the whole thing with Mary, and Ruth and the other women that God used. God can use any one!!!!

WHERE does it say that women have to be silent? That we CANNOT Preach???? Aside from the authority jargan, how can you lump everything under that????

This is an issue that ways heavily on me, because I believe that God has called me for a greater cause than to just sit at home and raise kids and cook for my hubby (not that that is bad, many women are called to do that, and do an awesome job at fulfilling their calling, but as I say again, I do not feel called to do that)

ok, ok, and what about if a women was called ot do like a women's ministry??? Then she wouldn't be over any "male" she'd be leading and directing women.....

and the err umm Conservative ways to look at it is all good and well, but can I get some verses to back that up??

blessings and peace to you all.

(And If I have said something offensive, please forgive me....for I only am trying to see the Truth here.)

you ladies don't get discouraged. This is a highly misunderstood topic that gets rehashed every few months.

You ARE saints of the most high God and He has equipped you for every good work. Don't let the naysayers slow you down. Do what the Lord has told you and you will be misunderstood by those who don't.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
