I just got a call from a woman named Susan. I'd never met her but we've talked on the phone a few times. Long story short, she had an ad in the paper wanting someone 'kind' to help her a few hours a week, shopping and cooking. I ended up not going to her place to help due to scheduling conflicts but we still talk the odd time. She's kind of different - an older lady, probably lonely, with a severe heart condition. She just called me at 11:00 pm to tell me that she was very upset with the person she hired who had no consideration for her and didn't call her when she was supposed to tonight, and then quit her job with no notice. Susan told me that she was so upset she took a 'partial overdose". I asked what that meant and she said she took 7 sleeping pills when she was supposed to take one. I told her I'd come over right away and she was adamant that I did not. She said she didn't want me to call an ambulance either, just a priest - whatever that meant. I wasn't sure if she was seeking attention or not, (because she strikes me as needy) In other conversations, she had said she'd found the Lord and he'd forgiven her and she felt free etc. Last time I talked to her, she seemed very strong and was very positive. Now this employee has driven her to this. It's hard to wrap my head around the whole thing. Anyway, I told her I'd pray for her and started to, then she hung up. She wouldn't answer the phone either. She said just before that, that she was falling asleep. I called the police and they said they'd check on her and call me back.

If anyone has any experience with sleeping pills, what can 7 do? She also has what she calls an 'extreme heart condition'.

Hi. Sorry. I am quite certain the whole sleeping pills thing was a ploy, I just got off the phone with her, after the police had been there. I'm not sure what is wrong with her but there's something definitely not right. As we were talking she said she did not have a heart condition and that her cardiologist said her heart was fine. Also, she mentioned a few other things that were just off. In any case, she still needs some prayer. I am going away but told her I'd help her out once a week for a few hours. This is going to be a challenge because of her personality.

well she certainly got your attention! and it sounds like that is what she was seeking... just attention. as for what 7 pills would do, it all depends on the person. everybody reacts differently to meds, and plus any other meds she may be taking may also interact with them.... but it sounds to me like she didn't take any at all, she was just trying to get your sympathy.

poor lady, she sounds like she may have some mental issues and is lonely. She may even have a bit of dementia. I will pray for this lady and I will pray for you as well...and I will say now that it is a compassionate heart that would see this lady is in need and help her even though she's a bit strange....God bless you for that.

First I want to say how sad this sistuation is for the lady to have no one to help her. The mere lonliness would cause thought of death to be out of your misery. I tried using sleeping pills once to take my own life. The kind of medicine I took was I think called Halicon but I am not sure of name. But I took the whole bottle of them at once telling myselt I was just going to sleep which I couldn't even trust myself and that was scary to trick your own self. Anyway I took about 25 of the 30 I had and the person who found me called the hospital and they said I would be fine just have someone stay with me and keep me walking and moving if possible. So this lady only took 7 and probably it will not phase her at all she will just go to sleep for a while longer than normal.

I sincerly hope she will be okay and find the help she needs.

blessings to you

:33::33: for both her and you ...please take care if you do go to this lady to help her. I remember my mother in law becoming VERY agressive and accusing her neighbour (who was the most kind and helpful of people) of all sorts of things from stealing her money to knocking holes in her wall.....my M.I.L. had nothing but good to say about this lady till she got lonely and confused and couldnt remember people going to visit etc so if she used milk or biscuits for her visitors and then the neighbour stopped by to sit with her or do some shopping she thought she had taken the stuff and it is almost impossible to prove to them you didnt do the things they have in their head ........rather than blame the lady who left her job remember there are two sides to every story and protect yourself as much as you can :33::)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
