i recieved this in an email today. Living in Australia with kids going to a christian school, I must confess a fair amount of ignorance to the issue of praying in public schools.

I would be interested to hear from people who have witnessed the effect of this.

thank you

WRITTEN BY A 15 yr. Old SCHOOL KID IN ARIZONA :

New Pledge of Allegiance (TOTALLY AWESOME) !

Since the Pledge of Allegiance

And

The Lord's Prayer

Are not allowed in most

Public schools anymore

Because the word 'God' is mentioned....

A kid in Arizona wrote the attached

NEW School prayer :

Now I sit me down in school

Where praying is against the rule

For this great nation under God

Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,

It violates the Bill of Rights.

And anytime my head I bow

Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,

That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.

The law is specific, the law is precise.

Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall

Might offend someone with no faith at all.

In silence alone we must meditate,

God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,

And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks..

They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.

To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,

And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.

It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,

We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,

Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.

But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,

No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,

When chaos reigns the school's a mess.

So, Lord, this silent plea I make:

Should I be shot; My soul please take!

Amen

If you aren't ashamed to do this,

Please pass this on.

Jesus said,

'If you are ashamed of me,

I will be ashamed of you before my Father.'

Not ashamed. Pass thi s on.

It is wonderful to know that there are still some kids that want to voice publically and loudly their faith. I haven't worked in the public schools for some time. My granddaughter did tell me that she doesn't say prayers at lunch and when asked why she just said no one else does it so she doesn't. I have never been told that she couldn't but I wonder.

I was part of a private school that was trying for accreditation from the federal government and the changes they tried to make made me very wary of them. Mulitculturalism, sounds great but what it was in disguise was actually changing the mind set of the kids to think in terms of globalism. I did have a few kids who were from religious backgrounds but I never did have any issues with prayer or the like until it came to Dec. American is striving it seems to take God out of everything. In Alamba they had to take the 10 commandments down, they were sued to get that one done. And now at the same court house there is a picture of Jesus and some are upset that it stands alone all by itself in separate place than the pics of George Washington, etc. So they had to move it to where the other pics were, I was surprised that they didn't make them take it down altogether.

that seems so crazy. Does some of your money still have 'In God we Trust'? to me, that seems to be a big irony

Wow, that was an awesome poem. It's sad to see so many schools fall in discrimination. More and More the name Jesus, unless it's used in cursing, is an offense. Satan is the prince of this world, he's setting up an empire to reject God, but soon that empire will fall.

There was a school in California, that the teacher was teaching the students Muslim prayers, and showing them how to be a Muslim. I remember hearing that on the news a while ago, now it just keeps getting worse.

You can still pray in schools. You can say a prayer before a test, you can have a student prayer group (or Christian group) which meets after school... you HAVE the freedom to exercise your religion in public schools.

You can talk about your God in the hallways, as long as it is done peacefully.

I don't see what the problem is.

I can see no problem either. Like bumpiestbread said, our schools allow freedom of religion. It's perfectly legal for people to pray as long as they don't infringe on other's rights.

The PSS now has what they've decided to call a "Day of Silence" to teach our kids to lovingly accept the lifestyle of those who are homosexual... yet when a male student decided to then "voice his individuality" by way of a t-shirt that said 'Straight pride' on that day, the school sent him home.

"Every day your child is in public school, their mind is molded more to conform to the group, and they are trained to defend their new "family". There is no such thing as individuality in public schools; everyone is part of the 'herd'. Most teachers would tell you that they strive to help kids to be independent thinkers, but eventually, with their conformation complete on students, individuality gives way into what is called the "community" or group experience.

A process called "critical thinking" accomplishes this. In every lesson, and in every subject, we had "critical thinking" questions in public school. According to Mrs. Berit Kjos' Brave New Schools: "At the core of psychological strategies such as critical thinking

School prayer is still allowed, in that you can pray privately.

Healingoil,

Thanks for sharing all that it is exactly what I as a parent then again as a teacher saw coming and was told if I wanted to keep my job I had to go along with and that wasnt just in CA but here in NV as well. Muliticulturalism leading into globalization of our childrens minds. I was part of that 'new' teacher facilitator thing andeven for a time thought critical thinking in the schools was a grand idea! Until I saw what it was all about. I am very lucky that my kids didn't fall for all that.

My granddaughter was told it was ok not to be able to spell words or even read them correctly. She is never lead to do much better than she is doing and that isnt very well. The UN is behind our educational system, they just love the mother earth/ghia stuff. It was a focus of the Rio converence some years ago. I know that it goes much farther into a mother worshiping scenario and imo this also goes along with all the mary visions and appearances. I tell my grandkids all the time they are not just part of the world but they are their own person and they do not have to go along with all that nonsense yet there is so much pressure on them and they are only in kindergarten and first grade! One world governemnt seems so far fetched but look at all the signs just pointing us ever so much closer to that final goal. Again thanks for sharing that and I just might have to go and buy that book!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
