i am currently studying in the uk.

are you already studying @ a university?

if yes, i'd suggest you just get in contact (e-mail, phone...) with the department of the university (eg. physics @ swansea, law @ oxford,...) you are interested in and ask them whether it would be possible for you to transfer to their department.

i've got some friends who transferred to another uni after their first year without much hassle.

if you aren't very familiar with uk universities and the courses they're offering, i'd suggest you visit www.ucas.co.uk , where you can find out about what universities exist and the courses they are offering etc.

also. to find out about the quality/ratings of particular department/universities,

i'd recommend you the following site:

the times newspaper (uk) also publishes "the times good university guide...". it's a book, which you would normally have to buy. just having a look at it in a bookshop would do however, if it's available in canada.

I was checking some of the Universities out there in Aus, and they aren't as cheap as I thought! - Either the canadian $ is going down or the Aus $ is going up!

- Well I will start this sept, just localy. I should of started a few years back after highschool, but decided to travel a bit.

How easy is it for a canadian or Irish citizen to study in the UK - do you happen to know?

BTW, what are you taking in University?

I've been looking at Isreal as well, do any of you know how safe it is to study there? -I've heard it's one of the safest places to be - is it true?

I found this site http://www.wzo.org.il/en/birthright/default.asp , and just wondering if anyone has heard anything about them. It caught my eye, and would like to do something like it. BUT - It might just be Jewish and not messianic Jew, would it matter?

AND........... I've been looking into Communications (Media Stream), and finding it hard to find Univerities that do this one. (I've found communications, but it's just the general stream) Do any of you know of any Universities that offer good programs for this field?

In this area ( south east kansas, north east oklahoma, southwest missiouri ) we have several colleges and universities.

Pittsburg state University, (4 year plus)

Missiouri Southern state university, (4 year plus )

Messanger college ( christian) (4 year )

Ozark Christian college ( christian ) (4 year)

Central Bible College (Christian)

Apostolic faith Bible college ( 2 year )

NEO (2 year)

Labette community (2 year )

coffeeville (2year)

Crowder College (2 year)

there are more colleges, I know that Ozark Christian College, has had students from Australia, and other parts of the world. as well as Central Bible College.

I believe that the tuition rate is some where in the area of about $50.00 dollars(U.S.) a credit hour and up to about $100.00 a credit hour ( depending on the course of study and classes.

my son is taking some at $60.00 a credit hour.

(plus books)

some times it is better to go to school local.

if a person is out of state, they tend to have to pay more for their tuition and then they also need to pay for housing ( room and board )

there are also classes that you can take on line......

I am getting ready to start classes again, taking 2 on monday nights, Theology and Escantology these run for about 8 weeks. total cost for these classes ( for wife and me, ) 240.00.......

some of what should determine a persons college or university is their major or course of study....

And yes they are expensive places to go to universities

There are so many universities...I was doing some reading and did you know that Yale University is not called the University of Yale because Yale is not a place there. Only the University.

Hehehe you know whats funny T, Is that if I were to stay in Canada - thats one place I was looking at (NS)!

But accomodation is expensive! :suspect:
