Every other biblical quote about authority has to BOW to HIS AUTHORITY, and so if He makes no difference between male and female, why should we?

This is really dangerous ground. If He makes no difference between male and female? From the Creation of man, God definitely let us all know the differences. God's Word is not hard if we allow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I've been on Theology boards and christians, we just cannot let our intellect get in the way of the Spirit. No one interprets but the Holy Spirit, correctly that is.

1 Cor. 2:12-16

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.13 These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the [fn4] Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 16 For "who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?" [fn5] But we have the mind of Christ.

2 Peter 1:20-21

20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private [fn2] interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but [fn3] holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

I Cor. 14

As in all the congregations of the saints, 34women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. 35If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

Husband? What about unmarried women?

Anyway, I guess women aren't allowed to speak- at all.

Or maybe speak means speaking in front of the others in church.

I'm afraid Churches are heading down a very unbiblical road nowadays.

I realize there are examples in scripture that mention woman in the roles of prophesy, or praying, but there are NO examples of a Woman in a leadership role. Infact the Bible says that they are never to have a role of authority over a man in the Church, and that they are to learn in submission and quietness in the church as well. There are many ministries in the Church that woman can be a part of, however the role of leadership is not one of them. (No matter how unpopular it may be)

Phoebe was a pastor. Many women were leaders in the churches in Paul's day. They were under Pauls' apostleship. It is and should be the same today. Thank God that many local churches are becoming more spirit-led, and being freed by Him in the area of religiosity, a major curse on the people of God!

There is so much religious and sexist bigotry still influencing today's believers that it takes a major move of the Holy Spirit to bring correction regarding service and ministry. The Holy Spirit doesn't "pass over" people with the "wrong plumbing" when passing out spiritual gifts. (That is a "man" thing.) He pays no regard to gender whatsoever! He is looking for willing hearts to serve the King.

This sort of attitude towards God's Word is one of misunderstanding Him. I am sorry that you "take Him" in any way besides Love. God is Love, true Love. Everything in His Word is about loving us. There are good reasons(God's reasons are purely Good)for all things He has taught us, given us. I pray that you seek His Wisdom in this. Only He can help you understand. Another person such as myself can quote His Word but only He can help you to understand it.

God bless you, denise

If something is not able to be reconciled to the Bible than it is "not" of Gods Word. It is of man-made doctrine and therefor, if not of God than of satan. There is not gray area folks:( Please seek Him now and His Truth.

the verse I use for my "signature" here has such meaning for me. It is not a lot of words, but it means so very much. I am not big on commentaries but if I use one, I like John Gills. Sorry it is long on this verse but I believe it to be excellent. I pray each person will seek the One True God in this "debate" over women in ministry.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
