2) If someone came to me with a computer that has "fallen of the back of a truck" ie stolen and offered to sell it to me for lets say $100 dollars. Now if i think to myself "well i know this is stolen but its soo cheap and i really would like to have a new computer" and for a moment i actually think of paying the money for it. but then i grab myself and think to myself "No that has been stolen off someone and it is not right for me to buy it off this thief", that

No, no, no....a fleeting thought can be tempting but it's not a sin. It's only a sin when we dwell on it...

That's when it becomes a sin...when we contemplate it and give it life...then soon enough it leads to a behavior or action on our parts which is sin fully birthed.

If we give sin a fleeting thought then it has life for a short time but it still has life. No matter who long or how short the time we dwell on it.

I don't think that Jesus ever thought of sinning even for a fleeting moment.

 For those of you who can live sinless befor the throne of CHRIST JESUS. Give the LORD Praise for what He has given you. And remember to continue to ask for forgiveness daily just incase there is sin that you don't realize. For those who struggle. When I being a believer ask JESUS CHRIST to forgive my sins. They are forgiven and forgotten. NOW I am sin free. When I ask him not to lead me into temptation but deliver me from evil. He does it because he said so and I believe HIM. The JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH. WITHOUT FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE HIM. ask HIM to forgive you as often as needed. up to seventy times seven a day. If you are involved in blatent sin REPENT. If you can't stop keep asking HIM to give you STRENGTH. Remember the parable of the store owner. He will get up finally and give you all that you ask for.

Never lose hope and keep asking. It's all writen in HIS book.

There is no hope anywhere else. keep asking

In CHRIST JESUS

That's when it becomes a sin...when we contemplate it and give it life...then soon enough it leads to a behavior or action on our parts which is sin fully birthed.

The fact that a fleeting thought goes into our head isn't a sin..

I remember when I, by NO fault of my own, was sent a pornographic (very gross) photograph on my email. I had NO CLUE it was porno till I opened it.

Now, I certainly didn't sin even though I saw the picture. I deleted it promptly and set my filter to "HIGH" so I wouldn't have that happen again.

I hardly think when we are tempted we are sinning. That's just silly! It's whether we nurture that thought and dwell on it.

My gosh...I was tempted to buy a used car once and have them write the sale price as lower so I'd save on taxes. The salesman suggested that...and for one moment, I thought about his offer.

Then I said, "Nope...that would be dishonest." So we did the right thing but I was still given the temptation to sin. I didn't sin, however and feel absolutely confident that I was in God's will because I rejected the temptation to do wrong.

Likewise, Jesus also felt hungry and was tempted to have a piece of bread. It wouldn't have been a temptation if he wasn't in the least bit hungry.

He was tested...and testing comes when a person is tempted. When they RESIST temptation, they have victory over sin. If they indulge the thought, they will eventually cave in and do the behavior.

I agree with you Cats! I am a person who has to consider all of the options. When I speak to children I am teaching or leading, and they are making a choice not to follow directions and they refuse to do what I have asked, we discuss the options, ALL OPTIONS, some are horendous, but they could happen if the child chooses. Before I make most, even miniscule, decisions I try to weigh all of my options. I will consider everything, keeping God in my thoughts as I do. That is my way of processing information. Some things I would never really consider doing, but it is not out of my ability to do them. I think there is a fine line, and if you are in line with God and in tune with His Spirit, then you will be guided accordingly. God knows each of our hearts and only HE knows what sins we have committed. He does not dwell on them, so why should we. This is not a controvercial subject to me, because luckily I don't have to worry about that fine line as long as I am right with God. He will lead me in the direction he wants and guide me to be on the right side of that fine line.

Thank you for listening to my humble opinion. I think it is good to remember even on message boards that people process information differently. Even though you might feel you have stated your point clearly, it still might not make sense, or could be misunderstood by another member, so that is why God will help us even when we respond to others posts. I pray we will still do that in love.

We are a sinners and have all come short of hte glory of God... Even after accepting Christ as our Saviour we still are human and have that sinful nature... No matter how hard we try that sinful nature is still there... Although one day we will be sinless but that day will be when we stand in the presence of hte lord..

dwink: I agree...although we are new creations in Christ Jesus, the process of transformation reminds me of a cocoon. Inside the cocoon is a humble catepillar who's being transformed into a beautiful butterfly.

Consider this: When the butterfly emerges, it's beauty is awesome. I often think of us as butterflies in the making. We're being transformed...from glory to glory into the likeness of our King.

In this case someone has tempted me. Even though i have not given into temptation and actually bought the stolen computer. i have sinned because in my heart for a moment i thought of giving in to temptation. So i have sinned in thought but not in deed.

Actually you did not sin, your were heavily tempted, but you dealt with the temptation by refusing to give in you are not guilty of sin. Christ in the garden desired His Father to take away the need for His trip to the cross, and He said however not my will but thine be done. That basically is what you did. To be tempted is not sin, it becomes sin when we yield to the timptation. God has allowed satan that access to us. And let no man decieve you, God has said you will be just like Christ was while He was hear on this earth. Believe these Scriptures.

Mark 10:39

39 And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:

(KJV)

John 14:12

12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

(KJV)

John 17:18

18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

(KJV)

John 20:21

21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

(KJV)

2 Cor 4:11

11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

(KJV)

Eph 4:11-13

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

(KJV)

Yes all have sinned past tense. There are no Scriptures that tell us we can't live sin free, but they tell us the opposite.

The poll results remind me of this Scripture.

Matt 7:13

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

(KJV)

Why should you be surprised, Paul has told us we are living epistles of God's word.

Matt 7:13-14

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

(KJV)

We have fulfilled this Scripture, and we are always fulfilling Scripture, and we have the freewill to choose those we will fulfill.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
