Revival for this Nation, Begins in Your Church!!!!

Now.........tell me what it looks like. What are the specifics? What would begin to change? Can you describe how revival happens and looks?

Just curious to hear what you all think.

In His Love,

Suzanne

I don't tend to follow the crowd myself. I don't see revival as a bunch of people jumping around and speaking in tongues and making a lot of noise at Church.

Nor do I see it as a standard door-to-door witness campaign...

I believe "revival" is something much deeper and more intense. I believe it begins to piece together the different "parts" of the Body of Christ in one accord and unified fashion to function as ONE for the glory and honor of our Head, the Lord Jesus Christ.

I see "revival" as being a magnificent surrender of the "Body of Christ" to it's "Head"...the Lord Jesus, and this is evident by a transforming change in people themselves.

We see an evidence of unity, love, and other indices that were common denominators of the Early Church after our Lord was resurrected.

I sense a communion and unity among believer that won't be "undone" by wolves and other infiltrators...but rather a steel-tight bond that will be focused on one thing and one thing only: Jesus Christ.

There won't be the distraction of minor differences...but the focus will be on our Commander in Chief. We won't be attending to our egos and self-wills...but to the desires and commands of our Lord and Chief.

That's how I envision true revival.

Cats, that was fantastic

I answered when you did, but upon seeing what you said i immediately deleted mine.

The trouble though, as I see it, is that exactly the OPPOSITE of what want to happen is happening. The church is becoming so loosey-goosey and feel good that it is scary. In too many churches, the true Gospel and the Epistles are not being preached. The Old Testament is being ignored. The pastors aren't even talking about what a Biblical World View is. Sheesh... it's like "now boys and girls let's gather around Jesus, sing songs, feel happy and just all get along and be lovey dovey".

Sorry, but I see no true revival on the horizon. What I see is apostasy in progress, big time!

In His Love,

Bro John

I agree, but how would revival come about? What are the dynamics? How would you describe it?

1. SHAKE UP!

2. Men seeking God's heart

3. God moving in man, causing man to seek God's heart more

4. God moving more...........an ongoing cycle.

NOW! How does it begin???

What say ye?

In His Love,

Suzanne

Suzanne,

All of those you mention are great choices but what I'm really picking up or perceiving right now is "#3".

I sense God is either moving in men's hearts or they are not among those who are being pursued, for whatever reason. I also sense that the sheep are being separated from the goats.

I am reminded that today is the day of salvation. Now is the appointed time.

Also, however...number 2 is very powerful in me lately. I've been feeling so incredibly close to the Lord lately. I sometimes almost feel Him physically.

Not really in the flesh but...my husband was driving the car and I reached over and gently touched his arm, affectionately.

I was touching Jesus. I know that sounds so weird...you all are thinking I need my "meds adjusted" (LOL) but I seriously felt I was touching Jesus.

I know how weird that sounds.

I feel like I'm so very, intensely close to Him right now; His presence is so overpowering...and the sense of joy and peace is indescribably right now.

I wonder if others are experiencing right now a cool refreshing of the Spirit ...an out-pouring of God's Spirit upon us.

I am aware of an enormous sense of gratitude, a spirit of absolute worship, confidence and trust and a deep, emotional connection...and just being in His presence.

My prayers have become very, very powerful and fervent. I'm not doing the "casual prayers" lately..

I honestly believe with all my heart that Dave *(Dr. Luke) has had something to do with this.

Suzanne, I am actually going through a personal revival right now and my faith and trust hasn't been stronger.

I believe that true revival is always preceded by HOLINESS...a cleansing work in the House of the L-rd.

Suzanne,

Iguess I'll have to go along with John on this one. I have been hearing people about 'revival' for years now. I ask myself how can there be revival on the on hand, when the apostle warn us of an apostacy on the other hand. That the church is experiencing apostacy right now and quite frankly I believe that some are enjoying the laid back style of easy believing that is coming across the pulpits of various churches, and the bigger they get, like mega churches, the more secure they feel because they think that big is good. They think.Wow this is great look at all the people, this must be the place. Up to twenty thousand can be catered for. What a chance for a genuine spirit filled evangical minister to start a revival, but the minute he told them they would all have to repent or go to hell, they would all find an excuse to go home. I've said it before and I'll say it again, churches are turning into entertainment centres

The commercial for promoting Bell Tea says it all. If the chuch is not a swinging church, the young people give it a miss.

How are you going to start a revival in your church? Chuck out the rubbish, go back to basics and bring the triunity of the Godhead back into the services.

If people want to rock or do some fancy line dancing steps, let them do it elsewhere. Church is where you go to be humble and reverece the Lord. and give thanks that He chose you to Glorify Him, not Hillsong or Amy Grant or others. And I'm not putting them down, they are great artists, but there,s a time to rock and there's a time to worship. I'm sure Jesus is not trendy, He's the same yesterday, today and forever. "Be still and know that I am Lord."

I'm off my soap box now.

cheers.

Hey Bro Botz,

just curious, why do you spell Lord as L-rd. I've noticed you do that a lot, and so do some others. Please explain.

Thanx,

John

True revival comes when the people of God start praying.

No, I mean really praying.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
