I really love reading all of the responses posted here. I enjoy the different opinions and ALSO the different understandings of "what I said". It's interesting to see how something is taken. For me........I do believe Eric, stated closest to what I am feeling now........"for me", JMHO.

I truly believe that it has to do with the easy believism that has come into the church, and therefore stifled the preachers by peer pressure. If there were TRUE preachers, who would preach the FULLNESS of the Gospel, and not just the "choice"/"easy" parts of the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit would begin to change the hearts of the people.

If men of God, would LISTEN to God, and DO as HE says, regardless of the fact that it may get them thrown out of the churches, God just might move in people's hearts again. When was the last time you heard the Word preached in absolute authority and passion? When was the last time the message of repentance was preached by the Spirit of God, and He just used a willing man to do so? What about our youth? When was the last time they were REALLY MOVED by God's Word? When did It pierce their hearts? Oh, how I long for all this church play to stop. How I long for people to fall on their faces before the Lord and realize HE IS GOD!!! HE IS MIGHTY!!! HIS COMING WILL BE AWESOME!!!

In my opinion, true revival will start with the moving of God's Spirit in a man's heart, to LOVE the flock so very much, that he will tell them the TRUTH, even if it means they will throw him out.

It will happen, people will listen, eventually, it's just a matter of whether or not it will be amidst great calamity, or before it. People will cry out to the Lord, eventually.............

Psalm 107

1 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, 3 And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south. 4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; They found no city to dwell in. 5 Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them. 6 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He delivered them out of their distresses. 7 And He led them forth by the right way, That they might go to a city for a dwelling place. 8 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! 9 For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.

10 Those who sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, Bound in affliction and irons-- 11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, And despised the counsel of the Most High, 12 Therefore He brought down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there was none to help. 13 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. 14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And broke their chains in pieces. 15 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! 16 For He has broken the gates of bronze, And cut the bars of iron in two.

17 Fools, because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, were afflicted. 18 Their soul abhorred all manner of food, And they drew near to the gates of death. 19 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. 20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. 21 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! 22 Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare His works with rejoicing.

23 Those who go down to the sea in ships, Who do business on great waters, 24 They see the works of the Lord, And His wonders in the deep. 25 For He commands and raises the stormy wind, Which lifts up the waves of the sea. 26 They mount up to the heavens, They go down again to the depths; Their soul melts because of trouble. 27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits' end. 28 Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble, And He brings them out of their distresses. 29 He calms the storm, So that its waves are still. 30 Then they are glad because they are quiet; So He guides them to their desired haven. 31 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! 32 Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, And praise Him in the company of the elders.

33 He turns rivers into a wilderness, And the watersprings into dry ground; 34 A fruitful land into barrenness, For the wickedness of those who dwell in it. 35 He turns a wilderness into pools of water, And dry land into watersprings. 36 There He makes the hungry dwell, That they may establish a city for a dwelling place, 37 And sow fields and plant vineyards, That they may yield a fruitful harvest. 38 He also blesses them, and they multiply greatly; And He does not let their cattle decrease. 39 When they are diminished and brought low Through oppression, affliction and sorrow, 40 He pours contempt on princes, And causes them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way; 41 Yet He sets the poor on high, far from affliction, And makes their families like a flock. 42 The righteous see it and rejoice, And all iniquity stops its mouth. 43 Whoever is wise will observe these things, And they will understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

Let's pray for the men of God to rise up, to speak, to be courageous again.

In His Love,

Suzanne

-How are you going to start a revival in your church? Chuck out the rubbish, go back to basics and bring the triunity of the Godhead back into the services.

If people want to rock or do some fancy line dancing steps, let them do it elsewhere. Church is where you go to be humble and reverece the Lord. and give thanks that He chose you to Glorify Him, not Hillsong or Amy Grant or others. And I'm not putting them down, they are great artists, but there,s a time to rock and there's a time to worship. I'm sure Jesus is not trendy, He's the same yesterday, today and forever. "Be still and know that I am Lord."

I'm off my soap box now.

cheers.

I agree, but how would revival come about?  What are the dynamics?  How would you describe it?

1. SHAKE UP!

2.  Men seeking God's heart

3.  God moving in man, causing man to seek God's heart more

4.  God moving more...........an ongoing cycle.

NOW!  How does it begin???

What say ye?

True revival comes when the people of God start praying.

No, I mean really praying.

Complete humility and deep sorrowful continuous repentance, a tear soaked floor from the porch to the alter.

I believe that this is where it starts. When one comes to a realization of just how sinful we are before God and become broken, contrite. When repentance takes place in the heart of a believer and they show forth the light of God , it can become a flame that touches those around them.

I once heard a man teaching about the great revival in Wales in the early 1900's. Acording to him, there were 2 women who had begun to pray daily. They were broken over sin and praying for themselves and their community. From this small flicker came a great time of revival in Wales.

Psalm 51:16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Isaiah 66:1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? 2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

I agree with you IR, but doesn't the repentance have to begin from the hearing of the WORD??? Repentance is a response to Something/Someone isn't it? Wouldn't we agree that the absense of repentance/revival, would be from the absense of complete Truth??? Thus, the preaching must be full throttle gospel........complete Truth now.......to hear the Word in all It's fullness, in total abandon and resolve with the absolute Power of the Holy Spirit at work to set captives free?

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The Word of God is Key to the Holy Spirit being able to bring conviction to the heart, but is is not always through the preaching in a church service by a minister. Sometimes it is just we little folk, being faithful to study His word through whom God can begin the process.

What it really takes is a willing heart.

Maybe I'm just totally lost here or something.

This is NORMAL for me. I dunno...I don't see ya'll in your own houses but for me, I cry almost daily to the Lord...TEARS. I soak my clothes when I pray. I get very emotional when I communicate with the Lord.

Nope, you are not alone, I'm much the same way. You and I have discussed that before, remember?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
