Showers definetly are desired. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Spiritually and physically. The rest of your actions.... ask yourself would you do it if Jesus was their in the physical sense? If not I would say don't do it. But here is another thought... If you are a child of the Lords, Jesus is there constantly. If it would make Him turn His face from you it is a sin and not what the Lord would want you to do. Blessings.

I have a question:

How do I know that it's the will of God for me to do things like taking a shower, or hanging with friends, or playing a board game, or doing anything which people normally do in a day? Is it enough to say, "The bible doesn't say anything against this, so it must be fine" ?

I know that we should always seek the will of God first and foremost, but I get confused: does this mean we should ask whether it's the will of God for us to do every action in life?

I think what needs to be pointed out is that God has both a will and plan for your life.

God's will is the same for everyone. To put it plainly, God's Word is His Will for your life. Yet, God also has a plan for your life and it is different for you than it is for others, but the end result is that God's plan for your life and His plan for someone else's life always brings about His will which is common for both of you.

So, God may call one person to be a missionary, but someone else is used by the Lord to be a stay-at-home mom or as a doctor or something else. So how do you know God's plan? Well the Bible tells us how.

But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. (Proverbs 4:18)

The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just. (Isaiah 26:7)

If you want to know God's plan for your life, you need to be in a place where you are following the Word of God. You must walk in the light you currently have before more is given. The path of the righteous is like the light that gets fuller and fuller. The more light you walk in, the more you will receive. In Isaiah, God says that He "weighs" the path of the just. The word for weigh in Hebrew means to balance or to make level. The idea is that when we are walking in obedience God, He smooths out our path. That is not a promise that we will not experience obstacles, but the blessed truth is that we don't encounter them alone, but with God at our side who is greater than any obstacle might encounter and who has the resources to help us overcome them.

Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

(Psalms 37:3-7)

If you want to know God's plan for your life, then Trust In Him, Delight yourself in Him, Commit your life to Him, and then Rest In Him. Give it all over to Him and then rest in the confidence that He is working it out in your life. He wants nothing more to work His plan out in your life.

Finally, one last important passage:

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

(Proverbs 3:5-6)

When you trust in God with all that is in you, when He is your portion, your provision, your source of supply, when He is the polestar of your existance, the love of your life, and your life is guided by His Spirit and His Word and you acknowledge His guidance in all areas of your life, you will see Him direct your paths, and any questions you had will be answered and any fears you've had will dissolve into peace.

(He probably doesn't care though if you buy the blue or the brown sweater)

For the most part, I repeat, for the most part God is not so concerned with the incidentals.

I for one believe that God is interested with every aspect of our lives. He cares about everything.

Just because we do not take the time to ask Him about trivial things does not mean He doesn't care.

He counts every hair on our head, He clothes the Lily of the field, He cares for the swallow and we are much more precious to Him.

Blue or brown sweater? Who knows, except God? Maybe the Blue sweater, even though from the same brand, was made with a slightly better wool and the dye will not fade as bad as the brown. It will give you better enjoyment and down the road when you recycle it to the Goodwill, which is something that you're not thinking of now, it will hold out longer for that homeless widow whom God is also very interested in.

God also gives us common sense which is Widom built on the knowledge we aquire. This knowledge should come from Him and His Word. This would make that knowledge righteous, holy, upright, etc. which in turn would fuel common sense decision the same way.

Intimacy with God should bring us to want to know everything about Him and to share everything about us, even if He knows it all to begin with.

BTW just so that you don't that I'm on a pedestal here. I very often fail to seek His thoughts or will or desires in trivial things. But that is to my shame.

God Bless

I have to agree with the poster formerly known as....uh....whatever his name was. If you don't feel right about something, then it's probably something you shouldn't be doing. Our daily routine is not of importance to God; He's concerned with our souls. You would drive yourself into a padded room trying to figure out if He was okay with each and every thing you do. Just read your Bible. :noidea:

Okay, Rick, I will do that. But do you really believe that God is interested in EVERYTHING we do? I mean, I might tell him all about my Hollyhocks and why they're ugly or why Tide w/Bleach is awesome but....I can just imagine the Creator of the Universe falling asleep while listening to it..... :whistling:

I do believe that He is. After all, He sent His only Son to die for me and to save my soul. I believe that he knows the # of hairs on my head. That takes a lot of attention since it is falling out. :whistling: Seriously though......

But He does Liston to every single word that comes out of our mouths. He is with all of the time and nothing escapes His notice. Why? Because we are His children. If you are a parent then you would know that even when your child comes up to with the smallest or tinniest of thoughts or problems you know that it is a big deal to them and act to-wards them accordingly. As if their big deal is your big deal.

Well, when you put in those terms then I can see Him listening to my drivel....just like I listen to the silliness that comes out of my beloved children. He truly is an awesome God to put up with children as wayward as the likes of us. :noidea:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
