Another is that, for some reason, I am very good at learning and comprehension, but literally stupid when it comes to teaching! For me, it's hard to convey what I know, but... oh well.

By the way brother...watch out. You just described the perfect teacher (in my opinion). The only effective Teacher is the Holy Spirit. It ain't us brother. The really good teachers and leaders are the ones who know they cannot do it on their own so they allow the Holy Spirit to work through them. Examples? Moses, Gideon and a bunch of fishermen! The stupid but obedient folks make the best servant of the Lord, don't they? You may be perfect for the job!

Bless you, Wayne

and scripture picking, people choose ones that will support their statements and I don't do it. I go by what I learn after studying the scriptures and try to put it in my own words.

God bless us all.

Although I realize this particular thread is about picking and choosing, that is not to say that we shouldn't base our standings upon very absolute doctrine, and many times, Scripture can be that precise in regard to certain topics. Especially in regard to sin.

homosexuality

adultery

fornication

drunkenness

stealing

(well you get my drift)

So having said that, I just want to add that it is not our personal paraphrasing that moves a soul, but the Power of the written Word of God, that will reach a person through The Holy Spirit.

Therefore, if applicable to the topic at hand, I ALWAYS want to post Scripture, as it will always have MORE POWER, than my own Words.

Romans 15:4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

2 Tim. 3:13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Hebrews 4:12For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

In His Love,

Suzanne

Thank you all very much, although I'm a little embarrassed. I really wasn't fishing for compliments, but I would be lying if I said they didn't make me feel better. :)

I will confess, that I have not been the most sociable here on WB's. I truly tend to be shy in person for the most part, and I guess I have been a bit withdrawn here too. I do appreciate your kindnesses and responses. Please forgive me for my lack of the same. I really do envy you all at times, for the closeness that you have among you. Although I have not participated to that level, and shame on me, that has not been any of your faults. Thank you all very much. I tend to be a loner type, and mean no snub at all, I guess it's just my personality type. I do hope you will continue your allowances for that.

In His Love,

Suzanne

I hear you understand. I will sometime just post the scripture I am referenceing because I am am all for having scripture given in context. So that would mean for a long post. Those that are obvious cut an pastes I often skip. So I try to help by giving a reference in context. Scripture is the ultimate authority when speaking of those types of issues, but you know anyone can provide scripture, but the one who can convey that scripture to help a fallen brother is also helpful. Also luckily here we have plenty of people who will call you on it if you take soemthing out of context.

I rarely post my opinion without posting scripture to back it. And I really strive not to post scripture that teaches something else in its context. I cannot always post the complete context of a scripture, that would make the post too long, but if it is necessary to post it all to make a point, I don't feel it is time wasted to use it all.

Bad on me! WISDOM once told me that if he reads "In my opinion" he looks carefully at it against the word of God because he doesn't want someone's "opinion" , he wants God's truth. Very well said I thought!!! However, he sure stepped on MY toes when he said it because I often speak my opinion. HOWEVER-not nearly so much now that he told me that! I guess I do both the positng of scripture and my opinions.

Note to WISDOM - I promise to check myself more often

I myself have been considering leaving lately. It seems that I am constantly defending myself. But I am still praying about it. My best Friend Katie (Keslc) is on sabaticol from the boards for a while for similar reasons. I think we get really wrapped up in some of the issues and remarks some people make.

Shelby,

I know this is off topic, but may I interject a thought? Don

I heard a preacher say something like this once:

When you see a THEREfore, you need to look BEfore, in order to see WHEREfore.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
