Kris, I have a hard time knowing when to draw the line too. I have gotten to the point, where I don't even want to be standing near someone as they gossip. I pretty much have to stay to myself in my department, because I don't want to get involved in petty, negative thinking. They asked me why I was so quiet the other day and I told them I didn't want to sin! They just laughed at me. ;)

Matthew 5:10-11

10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

No so bad...is it Debbie :t:

Nope, when it happened, I thought of those verses. ;)

Watch it.

About your don't want to sin comment. I would be so bold if I didn't care about maintaining a semblance of a relationship with them to keep that door open. If I started laying it all out there like that, it wouldn't take to long for the door to close. You know what I am saying sis? By the way..thanks for letting me know that I would be seeing you in a couple of weeks...always the last to know!!!! :suspect:

There was one time with one of the girls that I have been friends with the longest. We had been doing one of those dumb email question things where you ask random questions to get to know one another, a chain thing and one question was "do you believe in God". Well her response was I think so. I took that opportunity to talk with her about it. She didn't seem too receptive so I told her that there was more that I could tell her and that I would love to tell her what Jesus did in my life and if she was ever interested to come to me. I left the door open because I could see she was not taking it in too well. Her dad had just died and she was pretty angry at the time so I just tried to comfort her and tell her about the hope that I had and left it with her.

As far as the other girls, they know where I come from...I'm the good girl, the good baptist (though I don't really care about being baptist necessarily). I have never done like the whole plan of salvation thing but they know what I'm about and when the opportunity presents itself I am going to jump on it.

I did miss one opportunity one day a long time ago when I was afraid to share my faith. A girl commented that when she died she hoped that she was good enough to get to heaven. Oh to have a comment like that again...it would open the door.

Kristin:

I'm proud of you. You handled yourself VERY well in those particular situations. More than often people are going to WATCH your testimony MORE than they'll HEAR it. You have to listen for the leading of the HOLY SPIRIT, WHO is the ONE WHO empowers you to witness.

HE open a window of opportunity for you and you took it. Now, keep this in mind....you may NOT always see instant results, but you may either be sowing good seeds, OR watering seed already sown in the person's life. (John 4:35-38)

There will be numerous/countless opportunities you will miss out on (and probably already have) to witness. But sometimes what you may THINK is an opportunity may not be. The SPIRIT will move you in HIS power....you can tell. Listen for HIS gentle whisper/leading/guidance in a situation. HE will move you...give you an urge. That's when you know it's NOT by your own power, but by HIS.

This doesn't necessarily mean the person/group will be receptive. But that's NOT for you to be concerned about anyway (Hebrews 4:12-13). You just share what the HOLY SPIRIT places on your heart and completely rely on HIM. Don't ever rush/hurry the "witnessing" situation, and don't argue or lose your temper.

Most of all....be patient. Sis, our FATHER has you with that group of friends for an eternal reason! **Proverbs 11:30**

Now to you Deb- you're one to be talking about the Alabama football games! You can outscream me and Kristy both! (at least I don't call them losers when they make a bad play- and-1 minute later call them heros when they get a TD) he he

(you know I love you guys both! )

One thing I do in my morning prayer before work, I pray for an opportunity to share God's love whether it be through words or actions. In the beginning, I was able to share my testimony with others, but lately it has seemed to die off- (partly because of the co. policy against talking about things that can "offend" someone). So I try hard to work on my attitude and how I handle things, so they'll want to talk to me and know what I have! It is a struggle though!

Nothing but a small hurdle the devil concocted to slow the Lord's work down....let the Lord handle the small things like that. You just concentrate on His work

He'll make a way for you....He's good like that :t2: You seem to have a gentle disposition; use that for His glory & advantage....Satan's sneaky, but in my experience, he's not too bright  Pray for leadership & He will grant you all you need to carry out His will.

Blessing to you,

Bob

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
