  1. How to keep hackers away from your pacemaker by Elizabeth Armstrong Moore With millions of implantable medical devices in the U.S. alone, and some 300,000 more people receiving them worldwide every year, the need to protect these wireless devices from being hacked is increasingly urgent. Wearers might soon be better protected, thanks to new work out of MIT and the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, so long as they don't mind walking around in invisible shields. The system the research team will be proposing at the Association for Computing Machinery's Sigcomm conference in Toronto this August uses a jamming transmitter small enough to be worn as a watch or necklace. The device would essentially be authorized to access the implant and send encrypted instructions to the transmitter (the team calls this the "shield"), which would in turn decode the encryption and relay the instructions to the implant. 2. First, the Holy Spirit is one of the three persons of God. God is omnipresent so I believe that the Holy Spirit is everywhere. Ephesians 1:13-14 13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. This tells we are sealed with the Holy Spirit who guarantees our inheritance. Which means he attest to that he is working in us to produce his fruits. In John 14 we can find Jesus telling us that Holy Spirit dwells with us and in us along with the Father and Jesus and we live in them. John 14 15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. 19 "A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." So yes the Holy Spirit lives in us but I don't think he is limited at all. As to the second part of your questions. I'm assuming your coming from 2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. The "he" I don't believe is empirically stated as the Holly Spirit it is only assumed by some scholars to be so. It could very well the the He there is the Holy Spirit but it could be that he is referring to of the angels of God as well. I don't know enough of the original language to really dive deep into this maybe someone else here does though. We do know though people will be saved even during the tribulation. Rev 7 talks about 144 thousand Jews being sealed and the uncountable multitude they bring to Christ during the tribulation. So if people are getting saved in the tribulation I tend to lean towards the Holy Spirit will be working in those saved people during that time.
  3. 44.6 F is almost warm hehe Praying for you. That was a great movie too are you going to get to actually meet the man?
  4. Yes it says right there in that verse Gen 6:4 Gen 6:4 NKJV There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Breaking down it down. Who is Them? The sons of God. Who were these children or offspring? Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Who were the giants aka Nephilim? Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Thus the Nephilim are the offspring of the sons of God and the daughters of men.
  5. That's all fine for speculation but it's not grammatically accurate. Gen 6:4 NKJV There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Ok so yeah the NKJV uses Giants instead of Nephilim fine fine. It clearly says that the men of old and renown, Nephilim, were the offspring of the sons of God and the daughters of men. They were not just fallen angels they were the offspring of the fallen angels.
  6. That's where I disagree with MacArthur as well. The gifts of the Holy Spirit did not fade away after the Apostles died. In the book 12 ordinary men he doesn't mention his beliefs on that subject though from what I remember.
  7. Agreed! "We are punished by our sins, not for them" "Punished by our sins"........Really? You honestly believe that? Yes in a roundabout way. I am not alluding to scripture here. Rob a bank (sin right?), you will end up being shot, or in prision. Punished by your sin. Drink too much, lose control, drive your car, kill another driver, end up in prison. Punished by your sin. if you get my drift.... That's called "Karma". Is that something you find compatible with the Word? No, it is not Karma. Karma is the law that you incur penalties for bad actions and rewards for good actions in a subsequent life. You work off bad karma by doing good deeds in this life in order to enjoy a more advanced status in a subsequent life. What Fez is referring to is reaping the consequences in THIS life for the choices you make today. Exactly!
  8. The He in Dan 9:27 is the anti-christ / beast. It can not be Jesus because Jesus refers to Daniel's prophecy as taking place during the time when this world / age ends and is a sign of his second coming soon. I've seen a lot of people quote Jesus' response in Matt 24 but no one has brought up to what question he was responding too. Matthew 24:1 - 16 1 Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said to them, "Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down." 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" 4 And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. The Great Tribulation 15 "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. The world did not end in AD 34 nor did Jesus return in AD 34 to setup his kingdom. I'm sorry but your interpretation just doesn't line up with the rest of scripture. How does your interpretation line up with the parable the fig tree? How does it line up with the rest of Matthew 24? Matt 24:29- 31 29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. I still see the sun, moon and stars... The only logical explanation I see is that the time of the dispensation of the law was suspended to allow for a time of dispensation of grace. The dispensation of law will start back up when He (the anti-christ, little horn, man of lawlessness, etc.. ) confirms a covenant with many for a period of one week or 7 years. In the middle of the week (3 1/2 years) he will break the covenant and this is where Jesus warns about the abomination of desolation and to flee to the mountains.
  9. That is news to me too wow I did not know. Anyway, back to your question about the message being edifying I do believe it is. I especially found the part about we can take flight like birds or stand in the comfort knowing God's in control of these judgements and trusting in God to deliver us to very uplifting and comforting at the same time. And yes I do believe these times will only get harder because of our wickedness God is removing his hand of blessing from this nation and world. I also believe that worrying about food and provisions will only get you so far. I think the things we really should be worried about is the spiritual battle that is coming. We should be gearing up and making sure we have the full armor of God ready to use. If we are still here, God willing, we will be on the front lines.
  10. I may have my head in the sand, yet again, but I haven't read, seen or heard of riots in the US and New York burning... Have I missed something in the news?
  11. I've read his book and the bible study that goes with it. He pulls from historical facts as well as scripture but I did not find anything that contradicted scripture. I personal believe for the most part MacArthur is a good teacher and preacher. There are some areas where he and I wouldn't see eye to eye but they aren't the main points of the gospel.
  12. could be but i don't think there is enough in circulation to really be an effective means of doing that right now.
  13. Wonderful To Have Another Brother Fellowshipping At Worthy (Even One Sporting An Occasional Splash Or Two Of Printer's Ink) Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! Psalms 133:1 I agree and I have no problem supporting his ministry by clicking on his links to read his articles. I was just answering OneLight about why Luke22 doesn't post his full articles.
  14. This bitcoin is supposed to be untraceable as well making it one of the most prevalent currency for hackers at the moment.
  15. I don't know if I'm following this correctly but why would we need the tree of knowledge of good and evil restored? Haven't we inherited the knowledge of evil from our ancestry and haven't we gained the knowledge of God's goodness thru the Holy Spirit who dwells with / in us? Wasn't it the tree of life that God sent a cherubim with a firey sword to guard?
  16. God is Love yes but that's just one many of his attributes. Here are a few more. God is good - Ps 129:4 But the Lord is good;he has cut me free from the ropes of the ungodly. God is faithful - Deut 32:4 He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is! God is the way, God is truth, God is life - John 14:6 Jesus told him,
  17. Let's say there was a line drawn in the sand around 2000 years ago by Jesus. Jesus says to cross this line means you pick up your cross and follow me (Jesus) daily, it means I (Jesus) am the way the truth and the life, it means no one may come to the Father but through me (Jesus). Crossing the line means you're no longer your own but Christ Jesus is your master and He owns you and you are saved for his glory and pleasure. A problem I see is that people try to see just how close they can get to the line without really crossing it. They think proximity equates salvation. And some times they even fool us into thinking they've crossed it but just because we're fooled doesn't mean God is. John 10:25-30 25 Jesus replied,

  19. No, that is not what it indicates. It refers to the oppression that the Gentiles will heap on Israel and the fulffillment of it. It refers to the end of the Gentile possession and rulership of Jerusalem. That happened on June 7, 1967 when Jerusalem was finally in Jewish hands for the first time in almost 2,000 years. But is Israel now called Jezreel. Hosea 1:11 "Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel" Doesn't Jezreel mean "God's plants" ? I don't get why you would think Israel would be called Jezreel based on that verse or even section of Hosea. If anything its the day that is called Jezreel. When God returns his people to his land.
  20. SDGS, please don't take anything I say as me coming down on you. I truly want you to accept Jesus into your life so that you may experience his peace in your life. Are you really in control now? I believe this is one of Satan's deceptions. Either you accept Jesus and he is in control of your life or you don't and sin is control of your life. I don't think there is a middle ground there. None of us are good enough that was the whole point of God giving us his commandments to show us that we could not live up to his standards. It is only through the work of God's son Jesus that we can be redeemed. Once you accept Jesus as your savior you accept the gift of salvation and you can have faith in him because Jesus will begin a good work in your life and he won't stop until you are perfected. The perfected part comes when have are transformed into our glorified bodies. You can't have God and not be saved through the work of his son Jesus. You being here asking these questions makes me believe that God is drawing you to him. Satan messes with all our of us but especially the lost. His one goal is to destroy us and by leading us away and keeping us away from God he succeeds. That joy comes from letting Jesus control your life. I don't have to worry what tomorrow is going to bring because Jesus already has it all planed out for me. That doesn't mean its all easy because he does lead you through trials but I know as long as I stick close to him I'll make it through the trials. It is scary letting lose of control but then again are you really in control now? I've found that the longer I've walked with Jesus the easier it gets to have faith in him having control. Know that I am praying for you and that we love you. It is only that love that all Christians are trying to convey to you, some are just rougher around the edges then others.
  21. So to this person thinks letting someone starve is better than letting them take the slight risk of getting food poisoning? No it's more likely they think that the homeless are a blight on their "pretty" city and think that by letting people feed them it keeps them around. This stuff makes me sick.
  22. I honestly don't think Jesus was taught anything that he didn't already know. How could any human teach God anything new?
