Well said Joe! Even so, oh the mysterious ways God works! Who can claim they have faith, but those whom God gives faith? Ephesian 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

1. Ok, I'll admit I may have been heavily influenced by hearing something on the news that Garland was anti-gun rights. Then I read several articles stating the same. Now after reading what I could find stating facts about Garland, there really is little to form an opinion on his stance. I'm even beginning to think Obama may have calculated in the fact that the establishment was going to block his nomination anyway, and this may contribute to more disintegration of the Republican party. I am getting tired of news not reporting, but trying to influence everyones opinion. I think I'll count this one as you made a great point and I was wrong. 2. Fair enough. I don't know if anyone actually fits entirely in one box!
-
1. I don't think Obama is stupid, he has caused enough intention damage to be stupid. His priority is gun control, and news from many sources label Garland as against gun rights. Am I mistaken? Possibly. 2. I read your words, and you may feel like you don't fit in any box, but the truth is, we all do. We believe what we believe and it shows in our words. Luke 6:46 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. Am I mistaken? Possibly. You have the chance to prove me wrong with your words, and if you need to resort to insulting as you have in the past, it only works against you.
-
A figure of speech as an insult. By all news accounts I have read, Garland is counted as anti-gun rights and Obama made it known his goal for this year is to make a change in gun rights. To which you respond by calling it hysteria, so your words in this thread and others do lead me to think you are more inclined to support the DNC, which is not an insult.

The phrase "with an ounce of logic or common sense" is, I would say, impossible to prove has any truth in it. Can we measure either logic or common sense by weighing them in ounces? One can confirm or deny something without being condescending. Scripture backs this up, but Joe has already shown you this. Vendtre, disagreeing is fine, but insulting and calling it truth?

People have mistreated and killed people everywhere. One thought, native Indians and any slaves brought to America most certainly had a better chance of hearing who Jesus is. Should we waste time condemning or should we praise God he works in ways we don't understand!

Trump controls the debates? lol http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2016/03/16/donald-trump-says-he-will-skip-mondays-gop-debate-in-utah/

lol off topic! I have more than enough food, but ok, I'll take two head for say, 100 bales. Now I got 99,900 more bales to sell, and the ranchers are pounding down my door because their cattle are hungry, everybody has offers, but I don't need anything. I need to store my value somehow, and money is no good. I'm not seeing any answers from you, I think gold and silver is my best bet.
-
I'm trying to keep this simple and I can't figure out if I am just so disagreeable or what is going on? I have no cows, I can leave most of my hay sit and rot, but then there are a lot of people who have more cattle than what their land can support, so they need my hay or their cattle will die. If nobody has a currency, cattle herds all over the world will die, then people will have no hamburgers, etc. Someone is going to be smart enough to come up with a way to continue, what will have true value that everyone will immediately accept? I'm genuinely listening, not trying to argue. Someone has a lot of cattle and really wants to buy my hay, what is better than gold, I have everything I need, but I want to sell my hay.
-
Ok, the world economy just collapsed. I have 100,000 hay bales, and want to get them hauled out and sold before winter. What currency do you hold that I will trust? I need something I can carry and store, thanks.
-
People still perceive value even in a collapse. If I have 100,000 hay bales and want to trade them before winter sets in, I need something of value I can carry and trade for anything I might need, and I can store gold over winter with no loss of value, unlike hay. Basically same reasons as in history, I need a form of currency. If there is a collapse, what currency will be trusted? A new currency yet to be formed, or an age proven acceptable, widely recognized one?
-
If all i had was hay bales to raise and trade, it would be difficult to trade with a butcher, who has no live animals to feed. I need a resource easy to carry that has a value everyone can agree on. If someone had ammo, they may not want to trade for hay bales. Gold would work, or silver.

I've never voted. I'm still waiting for the perfect candidate!

Actually Trump may be the only one not seeking advice on what he should say do to this or that poll. Politicians try to be calculating, looking out for their own popularity. Trump speaks with no regard to political correctness. Manipulator? I'll buy that but it is on a different level than these career politicians. He is who he is. Vote for him or not.
-
For all the flaws that Trump does indeed show, I find most of what he says is simple and straightforward, yet some try to project their hate upon Trump, and instead accuse him of spreading hate, mostly by spinning his words, such as when he said to halt immigration until we can better control it. I found no hate in his words, but instead his desire to protect citizens. I am still surprised so many support him. I'm also convinced there is a lot more than meets the eye with trump, and found an article wrote back in december that explains Trumps success may not be as much of an accident as most have wanted to believe he would fizzle out early. This article is quite long, and I think Trump is in the process of turning the corner to prove the ending of the article wrong, http://thefederalist.com/2015/12/16/military-strategist-explains-why-donald-trump-leads-and-how-he-will-fail/

Lol. I just read a different article with the same news. Yet oil and iron ore are supposed to be gaining. Record stockpile of oil in the US, Iran ramping up production, most sources I see say things are getting better. All the markets look out of whack to me. How can oil rise when the stockpiles are still rising? The company I work for needs oil to rise, just had our first layoffs. Stocks are rising, national and private debts are soaring, everyone wants all to be well.

Do you believe that judgment is on the horizon, for the usa, and israel ?

Your saying scripture promises us we can't be killed? Even though we read about all the Christians that have and are being killed because they are christians? I try to read scripture literally also, and there are examples in scripture that some are killed. Stephen was stoned, John the baptist, etc. -

Yep, I hear you. Just wondering on your statement that, as a Christian, you seem to be saying that the example Oo gave of having your head cut off, well you somehow have the promise that that can not happen to you, while all over the world, Christians do indeed, lose their lives. Not trying to argue the tribulation sequence with you, -

I understand you believe Christians will not go through THE tribulation, but many Christians all through history have endured torture and death, what makes you believe you or I are promised otherwise when it is even happening now in our time? -

Have you read any history of what Christians have already been through? -
Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Luke 6:45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. Does this mean one should examine their own words to do a self-assessment? I suppose I can't use excuses for why I say what I do also if I was to make an honest assessment. The C.S. Lewis quote, What I see and hear depends on what sort of person I am. What sort of person I am can change what I see and hear? So how does one do an honest assessment of themselves besides paying attention to what comes out of their mouth? How do you "take a long hard look"?

Just watched the March 3rd debate today, and I agree, there is childish banter. Its like Rubio and Cruz had some desperation, it was practically all Trump with with them using their time to talk about Trump again. I don't know if I'd categorize the childish banter as belonging to Donald, he started off very well until prodded repeatedly by the other candidates. Kasich seemed almost level headed, yet altogether too much of a politician, repeatedly stating that basically he's done it all already. Donald does not speak with the polished politicians vocabulary, yet he clearly owns the stage as the leader, with the others basically saying what about me. I have this crazy idea maybe after this election is over, there will be more level headed non-politician candidates who can make successful runs after seeing how successful Donald has been. If all the politicians come out and tell the American people not to vote for X, that would encourage me to vote for X.

I hope its ok, on another thread, oo said this, "After 25 years I stopped looking at Doctrine and started looking at the people..." A common complaint of finding a church, is disagreement with a doctrine. Oo, your comment made me think, as the body is made of many parts, if everyone who has all the right doctrines abandon all the churches who don't have all the right doctrines, well then how could the correct doctrines be found in a church? Either everyone who thinks they have all the doctrines correct, are, in fact, wrong, or-if you have all the correct doctrines, then you are very much needed in church. How are you ever going to find a perfect church if there are people in it? Back to what Oo said, I need to start "looking at the people"

Is it a choice given, in this one passage? I think the choice is revealing, Is this a suggestion? Is it somehow conditional? Please do this if you can find the perfect church? Is church about being happy and comfortable? You may think I am being judgmental, maybe your correct. Been having a great difficulty in regularly attending for over a year, I have this great yearning to be among family of believers, yet, well, I am caving under the attacks that come. The questions I ask, I feel I know the right answers too, yet I answer them incorrectly. Maybe not the correct thread, but to borrow a quote from our beloved soda pop Joe, "I covet your prayers."

All the evidence anyone ever needs is contained in the Holy Bible. Not only evidence, but proof. No man could have written what the Word shows.
