  1. I expect that the mandatory mark of the beast will combine his "name" with a certain technology, if that's what you mean.
  2. Yes, it seems that ultimately all evil is traced back to its origin, the domain of darkness. The day of the Lord will bring about quite a change in the unseen realm as well as the seen.
  3. The mark of the beast is specific to a person. The technology for such a mark is likely already here.
  4. Agreed. There are seven plague angels having seven plagues which bring to bear the wrath of God. The trumpets and bowls symbolize the beginning and ending of the plagues respectively.
  5. May God give the body of Christ discernment against deception and strength to endure to the end.
  6. I really can't make sense of your question. The passage I quoted from Revelation 20 speaks for itself. It identifies who takes place in the first resurrection, namely: Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God. and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand. I'll let you figure out who these three distinct groups of people are. I'll give you a hint: it makes up the dead in Christ and those who are alive when He returns, just like Paul said.
  7. Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years. Revelation 20:4-6
  8. Whether anyone believes it or not, I don't know. There are people that teach it though. Well, I'm glad that's finally settled. Just make sure you know what your re-think triggers are.
  9. As a postie, I'm with ya but not all pretribbers agree with your statement. Some say that if you're not looking for a pretrib rapture then you're not going.
  10. While the prince of Rome isn't mentioned specifically, the precedent is clear. What scriptures support the idea that demons are disembodied Nephilim spirits, or that Nimrod was essentially a Nephilim, or that he is making an appearance in the last days? Please list them. Given the supernatural / natural connection between the beast and the false prophet, it won't be difficult for those who dwell on the earth to discern his prior existence.
  11. Scriptures show the abyss to be a holding place or prison for evil angels. There is nothing to suggest it holds the disembodied spirits of people. And Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion”; for many demons had entered him. They were imploring Him not to command them to go away into the abyss. Luke 8:30-31 And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time. When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison. Revelation 20:2-3,7 The abyss is a place where evil angels are held against their will and can exert no influence. We know from Daniel 10 that certain angels are princes of earthly kingdoms. Then he said, “Do you understand why I came to you? But I shall now return to fight against the prince of Persia; so I am going forth, and behold, the prince of Greece is about to come. Daniel 10:20 If you consider the beast to be the prince of Rome, as I do, then Revelation 17:8 can be paraphrased as such: The beast that you saw influenced Rome into power. His influence ceased because he was cast into angel prison. He will be released from prison and again spawn a world kingdom, then he's done. To me, this view has significant scriptural support not just with the ones listed but with other verses as well. I would get into the seven heads of Satan's power, throne, and authority and show how this prince is an eighth king and is of those seven but that's a whole other discussion.
  12. No, it doesn't necessarily mean a person dies. However, the verse does clearly state that he comes up out of the abyss. Show me one scripture that talks about a human coming up out of the abyss. The abyss is for evil spirit beings. The beast is an evil angel.
  13. The dragon is Satan. The beast is a fallen angel. The false prophet is a human. Again, no one in Revelation is referred to as the Antichrist. You can't just make up some person, call him the Antichrist, and then say that the beast possesses him at some point and then he's known as the beast. There's no support for that. Revelation only speaks of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet.
  14. Of the dragon, beast, and false prophet, only one is a human, the false prophet. Also, there is no one in Revelation called "the Antichrist".
  15. Welcome back SS. Jesus quite clearly gave us the signs to look for in Matthew 24 and we would do well to familiarize ourselves with them. It would be a tragedy if people ignored those signs and weren't prepared because they had been misled about being alert. I guess deception is one of the signs though, isn't it? Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. Matthew 24:32-33
  16. Again, you provide assertions, no scripture to back it up. The end of the great tribulation occurring at the sixth seal is supported by comparing what Jesus said in Matthew 24 to the events associated with the sixth seal. But immediately after the tribulation of those days [after the great tribulation] the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Matthew 24:29-30a I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood; and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. Then the kings of the earth and the great men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains; and they said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” Revelation 6:12-17 See the similarities? The great tribulation ends at the sixth seal. What follows is the seven plagues, the wrath of God.
  17. The sixth seal ends the great tribulation, according to Jesus in Matthew 24. The seven plagues are still to follow.
  18. Just to clarify, there is no such thing as "the Tribulation." There is "tribulation" that the body of Christ experiences from being in the world and not of it, and there is a time of "great tribulation" as defined by Jesus in Matthew 24. That's all the Bible supports. Anything else in embellishment based on personal bias, not scripture.
  19. Irrelevant. We're talking specifically about the great tribulation. Show me scripture that states that the great tribulation, as defined by Jesus in Matthew 24, lasts for 1260 days.
  20. The emphasized part has zero scriptural backing. It is pure conjecture. You should either support it directly with a scripture or quit stating it as fact. False. Scripture says: So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Revelation 12:17 There's no need to embellish what is clearly stated in order to serve your bias.
  21. The great tribulation, as defined by Jesus in Matthew 24, begins when the abomination of desolation is set up and ends with the opening of the sixth seal. What you've listed as the beginning and ending of the great tribulation has nothing to do with what Jesus describes as the great tribulation. It seems you still confuse God's wrath with the persecution of believers. What Jesus describes as the great tribulation has to do with the persecution of believers: Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. Matthew 24:9
  22. So many kings are opposed to him ... until ... he calls fire down from heaven. Then people say "who is like the beast and who can wage war with him" and then his only opposition is the believers. The image of the beast is the means of waging war on the saints. While I do see his rule as being worldwide, I think there will be varying degrees of his authority based on the people's willingness and ability to enforce it. The deceived people of the world are the ones who will be the policemen that enforce the "worship or die" ultimatum associated with the image. I think the enforcement of his rule will vary from region to region based on a number of factors.
  23. How do you define the great tribulation? What event begins it? What event ends it? Please use scripture to support your answer.
  24. We're talking about the great tribulation. The beginning event and the ending event of the great tribulation are described by Jesus in Matthew 24. Those durations are for other things.
  25. The great tribulation is defined by Jesus in Matthew 24. It says nothing of being seven years in duration.
