  1. Scripture doesn't say that explicitly that I know of.........and "forming" a soul is probably not even the right word. I was just looking at some possible clues. Our minds of flesh like to compartmentalize things instead of understanding by the Spirit......I am not sold on the idea of our soul being a separate "part" of us, but involves our spirit and it's tabernacle together. Not something I would argue about though.
  2. Yes, for sure the Lord speaks to us in various ways, and dreams are one way that He speaks. Maybe it is different for other people, but one way I know when a dream is from the Lord is that the dream is very clear, orderly and to the point, so to speak, and I easily remember them......whereas my own dreams tend to be rambling and all over the place as though my mind is just hashing things out, and often I forget what the dream was about as soon as I awake. Some dreams from the Lord have left me with almost lingering physical sensations, like taste, smell or a feeling, though they are usually not emotional per se, except sometimes joy. Though again it might be different for different people too, for example I have heard of some people dreaming in very vivid colours, whereas for me I don't notice colours, they are just natural colours in my dreams. I can't recall off the top of my head having any specific dreams forecasting of physical events, my dreams tend to be like the bible........spiritually instructive, spiritual warnings and encouragements, promises, etc, some of which have come to pass, others still in waiting. A couple of dreams having to do with buying and then selling a house, were the most 'practical' kind of dreams I have had....just a matter of obeying the Lord's instruction.
  3. Just some thoughts in case it is helpful, by no means authoritative....... but it seems as though the spirit needs to be housed/clothed in a body in order to form the soul, that is why in the Father's house are many dwellings/rooms/mansions for our spirits to dwell in. God breathed His spirit into Adam's body in order for Adam to become a living soul. Apart from having a body (either of flesh or a glorified body), I believe we are just a spirit.........like where it talks about the spirits of just men made perfect in Hebrews 12. Also where Jesus said to fear Him who can destroy both body and soul in hell......is another example of body and soul being linked together. When He gave our body a spirit and thus we became living souls. Eccl. 12:7 says the dust of our body returns to the ground it came from and the spirit returns to God who gave it. But at the resurrection we will receive an imperishable body for our spirits to live in.
  4. If you were of Christ you would point to Him, and not to yourself. He alone is the Head of His Body.
  5. Amen, that is a wonderful verse to be reminded of.........and so shall we ever be with the Lord after we are caught up in the air with Him. And Jesus said to pray that God's will be done and that His kingdom would come on earth as it is in heaven......which will begin at the reign of Christ, when New Jerusalem cometh down out of where..? out of HEAVEN.
  6. Yes, the world is promoting euthanasia........being without God the world is a culture of death anyway. Don't let ourselves be pressured by the medical profession who have their own agendas and perspective. But as followers of Christ we should have a heavenly perspective on all things.......and seek to be led by the Spirit in every situation.
  7. The waters of the flood is a figure of baptism as it explicitly says in 1 Peter 3:21.......and the ark itself is a figure of being in Christ and the mercy seat........but the flood is mainly a figure of the wrath of God and day of judgment (2 Peter 2 and 3) , not tribulation as such......though we do go through the waters of tribulation, as a kind of baptism in itself. The Lord does not keep His flock from tribulation........Jesus promised that in this world we shall have tribulation.......and it is appointed unto us to suffer for His name.....but it is His wrath that we are not appointed to. Believers will be resurrected and along with those who are alive and remain, will be caught up to be with Him in the air, and not on the earth for the wrath of God......we will be like the angels, as Jesus said. During the tribulation, the world fills up the cup of His wrath as it were, transgressors waxing to the full.......like the Lord waited for the Canaanites to fill up the cup of wrath before turning His hand against them with the Israelite conquest of the Promised Land.
  8. Praise the Lord, there is light in the darkness.......amen.
  9. Isn't the world a nasty place........I pray that it's not hard to see why Christians should have nothing to do with starving people to death, or building up military machines for the purpose of killing and maiming. We are here as ambassadors of another kingdom to show the mercy and love of Christ. When we talk about places like North Korea, many times the civilians are already victims of their own governments who are happy to kill, imprison or starve their own people to death whenever it serves their self-interests. I just pray the Lord comes soon.
  10. Praise the Lord, amen. Thank you Father, for your Son! I love and give thanks to God for His insight: "that wisdom is death and leads to the second death".
  11. Amen frienduff.......interfaith is foolishness as well as rebellion and self-righteousness all rolled into one. As though man thinks he is more righteous than God, who says there is only one Way to the Father. There is none righteous, no not one..........there is none wise either, except what GOD gives us of His wisdom to whoever would come to Him and receive. The way that seemeth right to the wisdom of flesh leads to death.
  12. Amen, that's true too, for sure.
  13. I agree......bible is a spiritual book teaching and witnessing to spiritual truths, it is not a science book, or a history book for that matter.....though it does not lie about anything because it is inspired by God. We just need His Help to understand what it all means. I assume a book written by the man Enoch who walked with God and was translated to heaven is also a spiritual book, rich in parables and metaphor.
  14. Jesus was right.......the children of the world are sometimes wiser in their generation than the children of light........don't know what it is about Christianity that makes us check our common sense at the door sometimes, maybe it has to do with weak faith that is easily threatened, I'm not sure.
  15. Amen.......well said, sister. This is how it should be as we grow and mature, relying less and less on men and more on Christ alone and led by Him.......like children that are weaned, or being weaned. A big problem though is that most are not being built up and fail to grow in the churches nowadays, they are taught to be dependent on pastors rather than learning to depend on the Lord. Or maybe it's really been that way since the early church, only perhaps worse now because of the falling away.
  16. Never knew until recently that there were a significant number of believers who think the earth is flat. Not sure what we are to do about those who circumnavigate the earth in airplanes or boats and end up where they started from without falling off the edge of the planet..........or satellites which orbit the earth and send back pictures of a beautiful globe. The more we learn about creation, the more it just makes me glorify God and see how He does all things well. And He is the one who said knowledge would increase in the last days. Not that we lean on that kind of knowledge, or need to argue about it any more than we need to argue about politics......because we have a higher calling and a citizenship elsewhere, not of the physical realm. BUT if we are hounding and persecuting present day scientists in the same wrong spirit that the Roman church used to persecute the earlier scientists, then, I'd feel remiss if i didn't point out that "Houston, we have a problem."
  17. Amen.......and the gospel is the only answer for fornication. But it does make one wonder why all the attention of the church is to decry abortion while not decrying fornication and adultery.......well, don't have to wonder, really......it's because the church is full of fornication.
  18. Sin and corruption is the undoing of our formerly Christian nations........it's starting to look like we are becoming worse than pagans and becoming like third world countries. Corrupt and inept. Don't know how much longer our nations be able to hold it together in a 'post-Christian' era, having rebelled against the only true source of blessing there is. Rotting from within, sorry to say. The very same judgments that God said He would bring upon ancient Israel in her apostasy. As believers we must humble ourselves under God's mighty hand, continue walking in faith.....and not react in the flesh like the unbelievers as things unravel. In good times or bad, our mandate is still the gospel and looking for His Day, and the Lord is still worthy of our trust, and able to watch over and keep His own. Deep darkness covers the earth is the time to arise and shine for the Lord is risen upon us.
  19. It's true, and I agree we are here to glorify God. But I am not sure it is an either/or question.....there is a lot in the bible about preparation being involved as well.......preparing our hearts to be a habitation for the Lord......Esther preparing herself to go into the king.......High Priests preparing themselves to go into the holy of holies.......John the Baptist calling for the people to prepare the way for the Lord.......preparing ourselves for the battle......being prepared unto every good work........New Jerusalem comes down from heaven prepared as a bride adorned for her husband...etc. Our hopes are not on this life, but we are to have our thoughts above, our affections above, our treasures above......looking unto the day of the Lord and not on our lives in this present world as such.....other than, as you are saying to glorify God.
  20. Amen.......preach it brother. That sure does look like Mystery Babylon to me.....she doesn't just embrace one false lover, but embraces them all........otherwise known as interfaith. This is part of Hindu teachings as well, they have been waiting for this spirit to infect the whole world....and I think Buddhism....new age.....it's all the same devil. Even back in the 70's when I was in high school, the nuns were doing yoga and Buddhist meditation, all allowed by "infallible" Popes. (In Canada and Britain these things are part of mainstream culture now.) No wonder Babylon is a haunt for demons and a cage full of foul birds.......epidemics of every evil including pedophiles. And now the evangelical churches are being taken captive by her too.........time to run for the exit door, if it isn't already too late.
  21. Fixerupper..........I tried to show you what Mystery Babylon is......a harlot has many lovers, not just one. And Rev. 13:8 saying that ALL who dwell on the earth will worship the beast. But it's as though you can't hear. If any Christian doesn't consider the doctrine of a Pope being Christ on earth vicariously to be a damnable heresy, they are in serious trouble. Jesus said, many shall come in His name saying they are Christ and to follow them not. Doesn't your bible say that it is the Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth....and that we are to lean NOT on our own understanding.
  22. Praise the Lord, Steve! The Lord is good! Happy for you brother!
  23. Answer to the OP question......no, I would not allow a microchip to be implanted in this temple. This is the point where I want to say, stop the world, I want to get off......microchipping people is the ultimate sign of ownership......it is captivity and bondage. "Employment" itself is literally modern day slavery.......I have long noticed that the loyalty employers expect of their employees goes beyond a simple business contractual agreement of 'you pay me, I work for you'........companies expect their employees to be essentially married to their company and make it their god. Those are pretty much the terms that they are looking for in an employee, and if you are being interviewed for a job they expect you to show them how subservient you are willing to be to their god....it goes something beyond just skills and conscientiousness and working hard....they are looking for more than that, they would not think of it in those terms but what they are looking for is really worship and giving up ownership of yourself to them. So really we shouldn't be surprised that microchipping is beginning in the workplace....and if you are not willing to give yourself body and soul to an employer you won't have income to buy or sell either. Doesn't matter whether it is on or in the skin, that is another needless striving about words...the point is that once it becomes mainstream, those who don't take it will be outcast and marginalized, unable to participate in the culture or economy of the world, just as it now is with the internet. Mystery Babylon is the interfaith religion, since it is a whore with many lovers......and it will be global since all who dwell on the earth will worship the beast (Rev. 13:8). Just looking in the bible we see how Babylon allowed the people it conquered to continue in their own religions as long as they ALSO bowed down to the Babylon image......ancient Rome carried on in this same spirit of multiculturalism, multi-faith practice, and all who Rome conquered could keep their various religions as long as they ALSO bowed down to Caesar as god. And now today in the end of the age we are SEEING that same mystery Babylon spirit lift it's head again. Mystery Babylon cannot be Islam or any one single religion, since Islam (extremism) only allows for one lover...Allah......while the moderate Muslims are coming around to interfaith now. No, the mother of harlots is definitely the spirit that allows all religions to practice.......as long as they all ALSO bow down to the beast, or its image. Which is something a true follower of Jesus Christ will not do........hence will be persecuted, like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
  24. Amen and hallelujah...!
