  1. 2Samuel 21:19 And there was again war with the Philistines at Gob, and Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim, the Bethlehemite, struck down Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver's beam. 20 And there was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand, and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number, and he also was descended from the giants. 21 And when he taunted Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimei, David's brother, struck him down. 22 These four were descended from the giants in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants. 1Chronicles 20:5 And there was again war with the Philistines, and Elhanan the son of Jair struck down Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver's beam. 6 And there was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number, and he also was descended from the giants.
  2. No it does not The 1st Book of Enoch has much to say about the generations of the last days and the judgement of God coming upon a wicked world. paragraph 106 - God and the Messiah to dwell with man 1. In those days the Lord bade (them) to summon and testify to the children of earth concerning their wisdom: Show (it) unto them; for ye are their guides, and a recompense over the whole earth. 2. For I and My son will be united with them for ever in the paths of uprightness in their lives; and ye shall have peace: rejoice, ye children of uprightness. Amen.
  3. Let us stick to scripture - where are the verses that contain the word(s) anti-Christ?? I cannot read of The Anti-Christ anywhere in Revelation.
  4. Reversing Hermon is a ground breaking work. It unveils what most in the modern Church have never heard regarding how the story of the sin of the Watchers in 1 Enoch 6-16 helped frame the mission of Jesus, the Messiah. Jews of the first century expected the messiah to reverse the impact of the Watchers transgression. For Jews of Jesus' day, the Watchers were part of the explanation for why the world was so profoundly depraved. The Messiah would not just revoke the claim of Satan on human souls and estrangement from God, solving the predicament of the Fall. He would also bring the nations back into relationship with the true God by defeating the principalities and powers that governed them. Jews also believed that the Messiah would rescue humanity from self-destruction, the catalyst for which was the sin of the Watchers and the influence of what they had taught humankind. Topics include: understanding Genesis 6:1-4 and the Sin of the Watchers in Their Original Context; how the ancient Mesopotamian story of the apkallu aligns with Gen 6:1-4, was preserved in 1 Enoch, and sets the stage for the theme of reversing the evil of the Watchers; how the theme of reversing the transgression of the Watchers colours the gospel accounts of the birth of Jesus, his genealogy, and his ministry; how the writings of Peter and Paul allude to the sin of the Watchers and present Jesus as overturning the disastrous effects of their sins against humanity; and how the descriptions of the antichrist, the end-times Day of the Lord, and the final judgment connect to Genesis 6 and the nephilim.
  5. Baalbek in Syria - like other megalithic archaeological sites contains inexplicable massive stone blocks that weigh in excess of 500 tons - the above is just over one thousand tons and other similar blocks were moved and arranged to construct the platform that the massive Roman Temple to Jupiter stands upon.
  6. Gensis 5:18 When Jared had lived 162 years, he fathered Enoch. 19 Jared lived after he fathered Enoch 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 20 Thus all the days of Jared were 962 years, and he died. 21 When Enoch had lived 65 years, he fathered Methuselah. 22 Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years. 24 Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.
  7. Genesis 6: [ESV] 1When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, 2the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. 3Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” 4The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown. 2Peter 2:4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment; 5 if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; Jude 1:5 Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. 6 And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day—
  8. I usually enjoy your contributions here on Worthy, but this time you are writing foolish nonsense. I have a copy of the 1st Book of Enoch (translated by R.H. Charles 1917) and enjoy reading it. It is not blasphemous nor an occult oracle; and if it were so then Jude would not have directly cited this book in his epistle. This book is informative and gives much information on the spiritual realm that our Bibles allude to without details. But it also refers to the coming judgements and wrath of God upon this wicked world in our last days. There are are other second and third books of Enoch but they are not comparable to the acknowledged first book of Enoch which would have been known and read in the second temple period by Jewish scholars.
  9. Coming?? The anti-Christ has been alive and active for nearly two millennia. Look to the church of Rome for your answer.
  10. If you read the of the history of the Sumerian civilization and their achievements - remember that this first civilization came about suddenly and pretty well invented all the fundamentals of civilization suddenly - writing and maths, axles, wheels and wagons, bricks for buildings, irrigation and water management, agriculture and farming, metallurgy, weapons, clothing and fabrics, beer, etc, etc, etc... The Sumerians claimed in their writings and religion that gods came forth and taught them all of this. >Religion Sumerians believed in anthropomorphic polytheism, or of many gods in human form, which were specific to each city-state. The core pantheon consisted of An (heaven), Enki (a healer and friend to humans), Enlil (gave spells spirits must obey), Inanna (love and war), Utu (sun-god), and Sin (moon-god). Technology Sumerians invented or improved a wide range of technology, including the wheel, cuneiform script, arithmetic, geometry, irrigation, saws and other tools, sandals, chariots, harpoons, and beer.< from https://courses.lumenlearning.com/suny-hccc-worldcivilization/chapter/the-sumerians/
  11. Here is a challenge for those wanting to uphold evolution [even by God] Mark 6:35 And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came to him, and said [that] The place is desert, and the day is now far spent; 36 send them away, that they may go into the country and villages round about, and buy themselves aught to eat. 37 But he answered and said to them, Give YE them to eat. And they say to him, Shall we go and buy two hundred shillings’ worth of loaves, and give them to eat? 38 And he saith to them, How many loaves have ye? go, see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes. 39 And he commanded them that all should sit down by companies upon the green grass. 40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties. 41 And he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looked up to heaven and blessed, and brake the loaves; and gave to the disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among all. 42 And all ate, and were filled. 43 And they took up broken pieces, twelve basketfuls, also of the fishes. 44 And they that ate the loaves were five thousand men. So where did all the fish and bread come from? How was this new matter created instantly? How is the newly created food the same as the original items? If Jesus can instantly create out of nothing fishes and baked loaves of bread then Genesis 1 is well within his abilities to also create matter and life out of nothing. Colossians 1:15 He [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.
  12. I did not callout any others as "lesser" Christians. I wrote of my experience as a Pentecostal Christian and how that relates to the issue of creation versus evolution. The point of my blog was that creation by God can be experienced. First converts are recreated by God - a new creation in Christ Jesus - a new heart, a new mind and a new life - metamorphosis. Second miracles are examples of God creating new matter that replaces old or unwanted matter without any visible effects other than the final outcome. Healing is about God creating new atoms and molecules to replace what is damaged or diseased. When Jesus changed water into red wine this is far more than adding cordial to water. For wine is a complex alcohol carbohydrate containing a multitude of organic molecules. Jesus was able to bypass the physical necessity of converting yeast and sugars into alcohol. We gloss over the descriptions of the many miracles and fail to appreciate what they represent - the supernatural - the creation of new matter in our world instantly by the thought of God.
  13. @Tristen evolution is for those who do not have a personal relationship with God through the indwelling Holy Spirit. This includes unbelievers, but alas many "believers" who do not manifest the power of God in their walk and in their testimonies. In Pentecostal churches the gifts of healings and miracles abound, along with blessings and much answered prayer. So there is no confusion or doubt about the power and truth that God directly creates and recreates according to His will. Take a testimony to the effect that a Spirit-filled Christian through faith and the prayers of the saints is completely healed and delivered from a life threatening cancer. Some, not all, saints have been totally healed by God and set free from cancer. The doctors and specialists have diagnosed the tumour and x-rays and scans have revealed the size and location of the tumour. So what happened to these cancerous cells? Where did this matter go? How was it instantly replaced with new organic matter? The same questions apply to many healing miracles - organic matter (atoms and molecules) are replaced by new atoms and molecules without any atomic fusion, etc. Think about the first attested miracle undertaken by Jesus in Cana when he transformed water into wine. Now plain water is simply H₂O and red wine is composed of many additional organic molecules and tannins to give it the alcohol and flavours that make up wine. How does this happen in an instant in time? Matter coming into existence in our dimensional world simply by God thinking it to be? Evolution is for the blind that refuse to see the glory of God in the creation that surrounds us.
  14. Romans 12:9 Let the love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cleave to what is good. 10 In brotherly love tenderly affectioned one to another; in honour preferring one another; 11 in diligence not slothful; fervent in the spirit; serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 communicating to the needs of the saints; pursuing hospitality. 14 Bless the persecutors; bless, and curse not. 15 Rejoice with the rejoicing; weep with the weeping. 16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Set not your mind on the high things, but condescend to the lowly. Become not wise in your own eyes. 17 Render to none evil for evil. Take thought for things honourable in sight of all men. 18 If possible, as much as in you is, be at peace with all men. 19 Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will recompense, saith the Lord. 20 But if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for doing thus thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head. 21 Be not thou overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
  15. Ephesians 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words: for because of these cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Become not therefore partakers with them; 8 for ye were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord: walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth), 10 proving what is well-pleasing to the Lord; 11 and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them; 12 for the things done by them in secret it is a shame even to speak of. 13 But all things when reproved are manifested by the light: for everything manifested is light.
  16. Revelation 6: 9 And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of the slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 and they cried with a great voice, saying, How long, Master, the holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And to each of them a white robe was given; and it was said to them, that they should rest yet a little time, until their fellow-bondmen also and their brethren, who are to be killed even as they, be fulfilled in number.
  17. They certainly are present today and are very active. 1: they work to prevent people hearing and believing the full gospel of salvation "The sower went forth to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and was trodden under, and the birds of the heaven devoured it." Luke 8:5 2: they are very experienced at generating false religions, false gospels and false revelations to direct people away from the truth. They promote witchcraft, clairvoyance, worshipping Mother Nature, theosophy, and so on. 3: they are the rulers of this world and give those who are perishing everything they want from worldly riches and power to gambling habits to alcohol and drugs to rock'n'roll to fornication and pornography. Every pleasure under the Sun. 4: yes they do "inhabit' evil people and through such commit evil deeds and harm upon others. 5: they particularly pursue Spirit-filled Christians with the intention to destroy their faith and righteousness in Christ Jesus, and to reclaim them from the light back over to their kingdom of darkness. Many warnings in scriptures concerning this. Have you seen demons or devils ?? They are jet black darker than the night having the silhouette of a human but only as a shadow.
  18. Some Christians have the indwelling Holy Spirit. Not all who profess discipleship are Spirit-filled. But even Spirit-filled Christians can be seduced by the enemy if they quench the Spirit and stop becoming overcomers. They may not be possessed by devils but they sure can be seduced by becoming sinful and ceasing to bear good fruit.
  19. This is somewhat fanciful. Where does scripture teach that angels have physical bodies in the Heaven - the spirit realm??
  20. "STICK TO IT NESS" yes that is a good interpretation for faithfulness - I like it 1Corinthians 4:1 Let a man so account of us, as of ministers of Christ, and stewards of God’s mysteries. 4:2 Here, moreover, it is required in the stewards, that one be found faithful.
  21. Acts 15:22 Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, to choose men out from them, and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren: 23 and they wrote by their hand, The apostles and the elder brethren to the brethren who are of the nations in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greeting: 24 Forasmuch as we have heard that certain from among us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls; to whom we gave no commandment; 25 it seemed good to us, having come to one accord, to choose out men and send them unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who themselves also shall tell you the same things by word of mouth. 28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: 29 to abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication; from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare well. 30 They therefore when dismissed, came down to Antioch; and having gathered the multitude, delivered the epistle. 31 And when they had read it, they rejoiced for the consolation. 32 And Judas and Silas, being themselves also prophets, exhorted and confirmed the brethren with many words. 33 And after they had spent some time there, they were dismissed in peace from the brethren unto those that had sent them forth. Act 15:35 But Paul and Barnabas tarried in Antioch, teaching and preaching the gospel of the word of the Lord, with many others also. [NENT]
  22. Read Galatians which I believe explains it best. Also if you have an Bible software program like e-sword you can look up 'liberty' in the epistles and read various verses that refer to liberty in Christ Jesus - the KJV or NENT are best for this as the ESV, etc use the word 'freedom.' But in a nutshell our liberty in Christ Jesus sets us free from the theocracy of the old Israel as a nation, temple worship at Jerusalem only and the many ordinances of the Law - for example a male Christian convert does not need to be circumcised at baptism. Galatians 2:3 But not even Titus who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised: 4 and that because of the false brethren privily brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: 5 to whom we yielded in subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. Acts 11:1 Now the apostles and the brethren that were in Judæa heard that the nations also had received the word of God. 2 And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they of the circumcision contended with him, 3 saying, that he went in unto men uncircumcised, and had eaten with them.
  23. WHY do you want to fast? What prayers are important to secure something from God? Fasting and prayer should be for a purpose.
  24. The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. - Proverbs 15:3
