Discussion is good, but those making claims have to substantiate their claims with evidence. There is ample evidence from established historian as to the accuracy of the bible and of the resurrection. If someone is still rejecting evidence one has to ask why, what spiritual reasons are causing them to disbelief. It is a spiritual battle that we cannot win, our task is to present Jesus, it is then in God's hands.

Bring your wondering up-to-date. What is the population of your town/city? How many in that town/city regularly attend church? How many of them are Christian? People today have the same evidence that there is a God as the inhabitants of the pre flood world. Both prefer to shut their eyes/mind to that evidence.

A basic question for you all. What do you mean by God? Is this the supreme being who with a word created time, energy, space, matter and organised it with a word into stars, planets etc Or do you mean some petty deity squabbling with other deities for control? Think about it, for the post above imply you belief in the second option.. Psalm139 :16,Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. God grants us life, he also determines when it ends. He is God and there is no others who can compete or compare with him. That means He is Lord.

Dating a non Christian :) Dilemma
Who me replied to irishbeast's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Don't mix business with pleasure. She is your employee, keep it like that, be upfront about what you believe and how you live. Point out the contradiction in her life, working for a reduce drug abuse company yet abuses drugs herself. If you do d3cide to date, then two rules. No drugs on a date and a regular date is to go to church together. -
The presence of Jesus, or of the spirit is not a constant feeling, yes we will have feelings of spiritual blessings, presence etc but just as one does not constantly feel that they are in love or feel the state of being a citizen of their country so as Christian we will know our state, but not always feel it. A far better standard is to look at what Jesus expects of us. He said " If you Love me, you will keep my commands! " Gal5: 13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh[a]; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. 16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever[c] you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. Well how do you live, to please the world or to please God. How you live shows what you are,

The best argument is Abrahams argument when talking about Sodom, " Shall not the God of the whole earth do that which is right." The only passage that implies that young children go straight to heaven is David's reaction to the death of Bathsheba's son, when he said " I will go to him." That said its better to concentrate on God's justice.

This is as you have said illegal. If you are going to stay in this church you need both a formal written apology and a written commitment that this, the placing in isolation and the interfering in your discipline of your child will not happen again. If this does not happen, report the incident to the authorities, in writing, copy the church leaders in and leave. Do pray for that women and for the church.

Surely you ask who ever is talking about biblical subjects for the chapter and verse of what they are talking about. Something that is ' biblical ' is based on verses in the bible. So whoever is arguing that ' x ' is biblical should start with the bible. " Decern " biblical material! Don't you just read it and compare it to other parts of the bible that talk about the same subject. It helps to have a good Bible knowledge, try in addition to what ever daily readings/bible study you do, to also try reading through the Bible in a year. That involves reading at least 4 chapters a day. It's worthy doing as it builds up one's overall view of the bible.

Suggestions on religious apparel and bible
Who me replied to borndagain's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Two surgestions. 1/ look around at church and get what ever version is used at church' Its far more easier to foll bible readings in church if you are following in the same version. Also it is far more important that you do attend a church where the sermons regularly expound a passage of the bible as the preacher works his way through a book of the bible. 2. when doing your own bible study every so often doing using your computer and biblegateway or similar, as using this you can chose any of some20-30 different versions of the bible and can try out these different versions. -
The old myth that "bumblebees shouldn’t be able to fly" was based on calculations using the aerodynamic theory of 1918-19, just 15 years after the Wright brothers made the first powered flight. These early theories suggested that bumblebee wings were too small to create sufficient lift but since then scientists have made huge advances in understanding aerodynamics and how different kinds of airflow can generate lift. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/05/090507194511.htm In Christianity and in live one should stay upto date.

God can't go against his character, so as logic is an outworking of God's character he cannot do something that is illogical like making a square circle.

How about clarifying what is being discussed. Two references one to a meal where Jesus was revealed and the other to a church fellowship meal, now called the Lords Supper etc. I don't know of any church that has a fellowship meal as communion, I know of church3s that will meet together for a meal, for various reasons, but none as communion.

Depends what the question is. My basic answer is that Christianity is more rational than not believing Christianity. That this is based on my personal spiritual experience and my study of the historical facts.
-
Jesus said if you love me you will obey my commands. If we are doing that, then as Christians we are growing 8n our 3xperience of God as well as demonstrating the love of God in our speech and our actions.

What must someone believe in order to be saved?
Who me replied to z88's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
That one is a sinner, to be truly sorry for ones signs, that Jesus is the Son of God, who died and rose again to pay ones penalty for sin and to accept him as ones Lord, Saviour and master. May I suggest that you contact your paster and talk with him. -
Try ' 5 pioneer missionaries. ' to learn what they went through to reach what we call unreachable people groups. Or the life of William Carry, for more modern there is ' Missing Believed Killed ' by Margret Hayes. Or Cbannel of Revival' about Duncan Campell and the 1950s Lewes revival. Of course there is Jonathan Edwards, Jim Elliot and friends , really current the Brantlies ' Called to Life.' About catching ebola and his service.

Ok Brother Andrew was inspirational! That means he encouraged others to do the same or similar work! https://www.opendoorsuk.org/about/our-history/brother-andrew/ Is a link to the organisation he formed, are you inspired enough to support it? James2:4 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

If you read what I wrote you would see I said " life in heaven!" And that means living people.

Kitzmiller v. Dover, Intelligent Design VS Theistic Evolution.
Who me replied to Diamond's topic in Science and Faith
Yes Darwin wrote that, to appease the convictions of most Christians in England. Just because he wrote that is not indicative of his true beliefs. See;-That, according to his convictions, all living things descended from a common ancestor. And that species were not to be attributed to God's endless creativity, but were the product of a blind, mechanical process that altered them over the course of millions of years. This alone was pure heresy. Darwin even nursed doubts about the very survival of human beings. From :-https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/charles-darwin-confessions/ If there is no God, and evolution does away with the need for God, then evolutionary theory has to include how life began. -
Love of the world! Just what is meant by that? I'm aware of a number of charities, missions, christian workers who are able to do what they do, only because of a wealthy Christian gives generously. Is that Christian who has succeeded in business or a career and has a very good standard of living, loving the world? Should all Christians work at menial basic paid jobs? God gives people talents and if that takes them to the top of their career, why should they stop?
