How Do You Personally Get Revelations When Reading?
Who me replied to Open7's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
It works by the Spirit living in you giving you a kick in the pants to say 'wake up, pay attention!' There is no mechanical process that one can go through in order to have experiences of God. All one can do is to follow the ten C, study scripture, pray intelligently for the needs of others and to generally seek God. -
I need help with OCD and Salvation doubts..
Who me replied to JJ1996's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Basic questions. Have you been diagnosed and are you on medication and seeing a therapist? Does your family, pastor and girlfriend understand ocd? Do you have any processes taught to you by your doctor, therapist etc to help you deal with the intrusive thoughts your ocd generates? Doubts and questions, there is nothing wrong with having them, so long as you are finding answers or believe the answers. I recommend that those who suffer from ocd look up the online article :-. 25 tips for successfully treating your ocd. Written by a psychiatrist to help his patients. Find it, read it, share it with your parent, girlfriend and pastor etc so they know a little more about your condition and how they can help you. Two basic and brutal facts. You are responsible for your treatment, to take medication correctly and follow medical instructions. And Intrusive thoughts are not real. By that you said when thinking about buying a car. You had thoughts that said A real Christian wouldn't buy it or that you weren't a Christian! These sort of thoughts are not real, all you do is acknowledge these thoughts, say ' Yes that is right. ' and carry on. You may need additional medication to calm your thoughts down while you use technics like this to cope with your intrusive thoughts. -
I am sorry that you feel so low and so alone. You want help, but don't like the advice/help that is offered you either from the online community, your local church or from your doctor. It is a fallicy, the believe that one can stop sinning, and suffering has nothing to do with being saved, or getting to heaven. My advice does not change. Get involved with your local church, start serving them. Talk to your doctor, listen to what is said and follow it. You fail to follow medical advice, yet think you can follow God's commands, which are far harder even for mature Christians. Here is some practical advice check out the, Drug Addicts Anon USA web site for a meeting near you. Odds are there won't be, but you may find other similar groups. The point is they all expect those who Know they have an addiction problem to Daily follow a twelve point recovery plan. You can look it up in wiki. Recovery is a life long process of every day apply the points to your life You need to accept the brutal truth that you have to join with others. Join other addicts with there struggles to cope with their addiction! Join with other Christians as they seek to worship and serve both God and each other! You need help from physical people.

im afraid iv lost something important.
Who me replied to faithfull-prophet4040's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
God has chosen us All to gossip the gospel to family, neighbours, workmates and people we meet. Look back over the range of your posts, they all show a distinct lack of faith or trust in God. As well as a refusal to meet with any local gathering of Christians. So how do you plan to spread god's word? Like Paul are you going to go to a market place, read shopping mall, and start preaching, until security escort you out? Planning on going house to house to witness to people? I'll repeat what I've often said. Join a local church, get them to recognise that you have a gift and with their support reach out to your neighbourhood. What will happen if you don't. simple nothing, nothing because it takes enormous effort to get noticed and working on your own makes it ten times harder. -
to say that anyone with a spiritual problem is not a Christian, because 'Christians' don't have spiritual problems is very closed minded. Have you looked at the 'do you ant to ask a question forum' and read some of the questions?

jargon, live in the spirit, walk in the spirit! you know if this was about a physical pain would you be suggesting the same answers/ Do all mental problems solely caused by spiritual activity? If someone has a spiritual problem ho ould you advise them, so they actual know what you are talking about/

Is it! then why did Jesus tell the parable of the persistent widow, who kept pestering the judge untill he gave her justice. It depends what you are praying for. by all means pray for guidance about choices you have in your life, but don't pray for wisdom to decide which pair of socks to wear. Pray about those things that are important to you, worry you etc also talk to people in your church who can advise you. example those involved in music in the church can advice you about your music, those in different careers, buisness can give career advice and there are those who can help with other problems because they have been there. To pray constantly means just that. to pray about the things that concern you both personal, local, national and international. Listen to the news and then pray about it. listen to church notices so one can pray for those in need of prayer, take missionary magerzines so one can pray for the missionaries and the church they are working with and the country they are in. Often these prayers do not change from one week to the next but we still pray for them

Don't we love Jargon! abide in Christ, Paul talked about clearly presenting the gospel, ever thought about the jargon used by Christians when talking about the faith. Now explain what you mean?
-
Because it shows that he is totally in control. Just because we do not like what is happening to us, does not mean that it is for our benefit. Would you prefer a God that does not know the future, where your destination is questionable right up untill you get there? Is Jesus's statement that he holds on to our faith really true and that the devil could possible tear us out of his hand an idea you like? Paul wrote that nothing in All of Creation can separate us from the Love of Christ. Is that true? God's code knowledge and predestination of us is part of Gods Character and without it he is not God.

I wrote this deliberately to seejust how spiritually practical the responders would be. I'm aware of at least two posters asking for practical help, yet all they got was exhortations to be spiritual.. How does one seek to be closer to God, or in this thread to experience the fruits of the spirit? Does one sit back and wait? Does one read the Bible and pray more? Does what one is doing affect one's relationship with God and if so should one seek to change there behaviour? Well what is your advice?
-
I am sorry you feel sad and hopeless, because things are not hopeless. You have an Almighty Saviour on your side who is holding on to you and nothing in All creation can separate you from Jesus. So take heart, things are not as bad as you fear. Please use the internet to look up,:- 25 tips for successfully treating your ocd. Do read it and discuss it with your parents and any therapist or doctor you have. It has practical advice for dealing with intrusive thoughts. Basically you experience a thought. " Because you did that you are not a Christian, God doesn't love you! " All you do is say or think, " Yes that is right! " And carry on with what you are doing. Intrusive thoughts are not real, so talking, debating, arguing with them gets you no where. It is the same with ignoring or trying to suppress them. Do read the article and share it with your parents who will find it useful for helping you. Aged Dad speaking, teenager daughters are trouble without the problem of intrusive thoughts sending them up the wall. Please bear with your parents and help them to help you.

Pure emotional self endulgence. Harsh words but what good do your tears do? Do you pray intelligently for the needs of the poor? Does it drive you to do something practical for the poor? If your emotions are running high or low do see your doctor, as has been suggested it could be a result of drug withdrawal or of the drugs you are taking. Otherwise write about your emotions, analysis them through the lyrics you write, to see if they are worth experiencing and how they motivate you to action.

You don't, just as you don't tell a child about prostitution, child sexual abuse, rape and insest. As the child's grows Me matures into an adult then it will have or will learn about adult sins in all there awfulness. Untill then keep your explanations suitable for a child's understanding.

Theological Problems with God-guided Evolution
Who me replied to one.opinion's topic in Science and Faith
Dawkins is not the only atheist, talk to your colleagues, I'm sure they would help you understand how atheists view Christians who believe in evolution. -
To have fire there has to be three elements, fuel, heat and Oxygen together they can cause there to be a fire. God is triune, three individual person in one. God the Father is not the Son of the Spirit, God the Son is not the Father or the Spirit. God the Spirit is not the Father or the Son. Yet together the triangle of Father, son and Spirit form God. Because Father, Son and Spirit have communion with one another they love and receive love, they are love, but it is not an abstract they know what it is to love and to receive it. They know about community and they also know about the pain of separation and loss. God does not need us, bit out of his love he created us, knowing that it would be costly he still created us. One day we will be with him and will start to learn about him.

Love, joy, peace, forbearance, patience, kindness, goodness, gentilness, faithfulness and self control. They are the result of the holy spirit living in one and influencing one, changing one's character to be more like Christ. Ok, if someone does not have a particular fruit, what should they do? How do they go about obtaining or recieving that missing fruit?

Thank you for replying. Please don't think I'm getting at you. Faith is impossible to quantify or qualify the faith possessed or used by any person. One either does have faith or they don't, and if as you say you are trusting Jesus for your salvation, then you have faith. All I can suggest about addiction, whether to drugs, porn, or to anything else is follow the Alcoholics anon plan:- The heart of the suggested program of personal recovery is contained in Twelve Steps describing the experience of the earliest members of the Society: We admitted we were powerless over alcohol - that our lives had become unmanageable. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs. This has to be followed daily and it is life changing. May I suggest you try it.

faith in jesus?
Who me replied to faithfull-prophet4040's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
No you are not missing anything. You are not doing. No Christian lives a sin free life. No Christian escapes the struggle to resist temptation. No Christian is promised an easy life. Jesus said that we can expect the world to treat us as it treated him. looking at JtheB post, I realise there is something missing from your statement. Peace. As I've said many times you need to be part of a church, where you can encourage others by your presence and with your songwritting as well as being encouraged by them. Peace of God comes as you practice the Christian life. -
Theological Problems with God-guided Evolution
Who me replied to one.opinion's topic in Science and Faith
Strange how evolution is the excuse/explanation used by atheists to justify there not believing in God. Yes there is nothing written down in the origin of species that says this theory does away with God. But it is one of the main props of atheism. -
do you mean what you wrote or are you writing what you think a christian would write? Do you believe that Jesus broke your chains, that he has turned your life around. That you couldn't ask for a better friend. I think you should be involved in a local church, not just for the help and support they give, but for what you can give in song writing, playing and singing.

Theological Problems with God-guided Evolution
Who me replied to one.opinion's topic in Science and Faith
That is not what a beliefer in evolution can say. Evolution means that the unproven hypothetical simple cell created somehow, magically acquired abilities to become multicellular and make specialised cells without having the information to make them. All that you can claim as a believer in evolution is that God created the first living things that then evolved into the creatures we know today. To claim God created all living things denies that there was evolution. -
For the Christian the witness of the Bible is that God is with you. See Josh 1:9, Drug 31:6 & Matt 28:20. Let the non Christian ask his question, he isn't interested in the answer, only in destroying ones faith.

Obedience Comes by Fear, but Faith by Hearing!
Who me replied to Bro.Tan's topic in General Discussion
Jesus mentioned worshipping God, the young man worshipped his possessions. -
Look up the christianityexplained web site for churches in your area that run this evangelical course, or there is the alpha course if you are charismatic. All I have been saying is that we need to be part of a fellowship where they can watch over us and we can also watch over them. It is easy in isolation to go off at a tangent.
