  1. Jesus said in john6:38 that his purpose was to keep safe all those his Father had given him and raise them up at the last day. Do you believe what Jesus says? If you are his then you are always his.
  2. You implie that you were in that area for more than one week, so did you return the second week or let them know you would be around? Moving around the UK on holiday we as a family have been invited out for meals by members of a congragtion either durring the week or if they knew we would be there next Sunday. One thing I would suggest is contact the pastor, apologize for the delay in contacting him, thank him for his warm words etc and mention that you were disappointed by the lack of offers of hospitality. Sometimes it takes a comment to galvanized a group to re-examine how they function.
  3. Jesus told us all that as he was treated so we would be treated. That in the west Christianity is not being persecuted is not normal. Expect opposition simply because you are a Christian and because Christians are opposed to all sex other than between a married man and woman. Because you are scrupulously honest in all things and will not bend the truth. An unbeliving world does not live by Christian morals and does not want you to remind them of them.
  4. The tenant oIsl that will be saved will be hose who believe when Jesus returns There is no chance afterwards. Why will people be calling on the rocks to fall on them and hide them from Jesus? Because they are not saved and are terrified at the sight of the returning glorified Jesus. Equally those Jews who have not accepted Jesus as there Lord and Saviour will be couring under rocks to escape his wrath. Which is why I say pray for conversions, today is the day of salvation.
  5. Except so many Christians believe they can be separated from the love of God! They have no knowledge of the immensity of the Love of God which has no end to its length, depth, width and is far greater than we can imagine and so think that Jesus's hold on us is weak and that his death and resurrection was or will be wasted. They do not know that Nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God.
  6. May I suggest that you follow the read through the bible in a year plan,by reading two old testament, one Psalm and one new testament chapters a day. Questions to ask are what did this mean to the Jews, how did they apply it, how did early Christians understand it and how do we today understand it? Is there any difference? Can you see Jesus or the promise of Jesus in what you are reading? Try recording what you read. What struck you in that passage and why? What did you pray about. So long as you pray about what you are reading you will find that God will speak to you in the O T. Remember when the disciples talked and argued that Jesus was the Messiah they did it from only the old testament, so look for him in it.
  7. When Jesus returns it will be too late. All Israel will be saved, all Israel is all those who are Christian. So pray for conversions.
  8. And what about Israel requirements to keep there side of the covernment? What about the curses involved in not keeping the covernent? How can you support Israel? By praying for there conversion.
  9. Sorry but what does this mean? God is not a ' good light ', . God is pure holiness and we are totally sinful and only able to worship God because of God's mercy, grace and love. Read Romans 8:28 All things work together for good for those who are called according to God's purpose. Trusting God literally means accepting what happens in life is from God.
  10. If that is there attitude, then have nothing to do with them. But the attitude you are encouraging is equally as bad. The minister is our shepherd, and shepherds lead, guide there rock and the flock obeys there shepherd. A minister has to have the authority to be able to rebuke an erring brother, he has to have the stature to hear sad stories and give unwelcome advice. The pastors load can be a heavy one, don't make it harder than it already is.
  11. Jesus promised that where two or three are gathered in his name, there he would be. Why would demons etc willingly be in the presence of a Glorified Jesus? If it worries you then pray for the Lord's protection durring that quite time before a service starts, or even before you leave home.
  12. It is in knowing, in submitting, in being obedient that in those constraints to freedom that the Christian has life and as the in says has it abundantly John 10:10. There is no freedom in unrestrained desires.
  13. In many areas of the world Christians cannot openly meet to worship and that does not stop them from worshipping or in witnessing. We do not actually need the big magnificent buildings or the humbler local buildings to operate as a Christian community. There is also the witness of church organisations. So your church is going to defy the government and hold ' normal' church services, how will your neighbours view you if two weeks later most of your elderly members are down with the virus? How will they view your church if cases have spiked in the area around your church building and those members public spirited enough to have the track and trace app on their phone, unfortunately show the cause is infected church members. It's is a great witness of a total lack of love towards the vunerable. Obey the regulations, and serve God. Or as Jesus put it, Give to Ceased what is readers and to God what is God's.
  14. Who me

    Clear books

Never heard of them. It is a topic I find irrelevant, as a Christian one should be seeking to be staying close to Jesus. Of living a life that is in obedience to his commands. Of reading the Bible and praying about what one reads as well as praying for people around you and those you are aware of in the world. Paul wrote about the Christian as a soldie, two things everyone forgets. A soldier has to be trained. And , having done everything we are simple to stand firm. We might not be where the action is, but we lay a part in maintaining the line. Spiritual warfare is living as a Christian.
  15. We are commanded to pray for the good of our enemies. You have no choice but to pray that they will be well physically, mentally and spiritually. Re talking to your brother's, three things. 1/ learn the questions, what do you believe about.... What evidence do you have for that belief? You have to be able t answer these questions with logical reasons, never say have faith or just believe. 2/ learn the facts behind the historical accuracy of the resurrection. Read lee strobes the case for Christ or watch Dr G Habermas on the resurrection. If you can give a reasoned explanation for your with you present hem with a challenge. 3/ remember people put up a front, they rarely show when they are shaken in there beliefs, so give them time and continue to pray for them. You could practice on unbelieving colleagues.
  16. It is never a matter of feeling. It is a case of knowing and of being obedient to Jesus's commandments, All of the ten commandments in our daily lives. Hi or reading, prayer and church attendance all help to keep us on the right course. Being active or I you prefer being zealous depends on how confident we are in our faith and in our ability to explain what and why we believe. Paul discribed the Christian life as bei g like training for the Olympics. No one becomes a competitor overnight, it takes effort. You say that you lived a purer life before you were saved. That just means you are more aware of temptation and of sin and have to make a greater effort not to sin. Keep going, it is worth the blood, sweat and tears.
  17. Sin is defined by the ten commandments. Doing anything to excess is never a good idea or good for one's health.
  18. No. There are always claims, but none have ever stood up to investigation. Our church has seen and is seeing those suffering with live long, life altering illnesses. We have amazing prayer meetings for them or the families and carerers.
  19. The Westminster Confession of Faith says that the ' chief end of purpose of man is to Glorify God and to enjoy him for ever.' Please get one thing right. There is never, there is never anything wrong about asking hard questions about Christianity or in having doubts about Christianity. We are commanded to always have a reason for what and why you believe in Jesus and Christianity. I would go so far to say, if your minister won't answer or discourages questions to leave that church. May I suggest you start following sites like coldcasechristianity, reasons to believe, tough questions answered and wintery kinght. They all provide information from the basic 101 your church should have given to stuff one has to think about.
  20. When did this happen and who divorced who? If this is recent say within the last ten years then I would not want that man as a minister. When ever it happened if he divorced her inorder to marry another women the in my opinion he is not fit to be a ministe. If she divorced him for abuseive behaviour again he is not fit to be a minister. If in the midst of a divorce, then I would want those who councelled both parties to advise the church leaders as to his suitability to be/remain a minister.
  21. Coming back to this I would change nothing in my reply to you as the whole passage does not change anything. It says nothing about a child calling his father, father, but everything about not calling a priest father.
  22. They already belong to Satan, lock, stock and barrel so demons are not there worry, Christians are. Do pray for there physical healing, any other problems they have as well as for opertunities to talk with them about Jesus.
  23. Who are you telling to me or the original poster?
  24. Either ask him not to hug you or explain that the length of them is making you uncomfortable and ask him to be more appropriate. If you feel uncomfortable in church let the minister know, he cannot seek to teach his flock if he is unaware of problems in it. Are there other churches you can attend?
  25. F Why were you told to leave church? What reason we're you given? What does your sister say about keeping in touch with you? How does your local church do services under the civic restrictions? Do they have an online service, can you access it, do they have any on line fellowship groups and could you join them?
