  1. I am sorry that you haven't been able to reach him. um... perhaps you could try contacting the mods / admin.. maybe someone might have more info? I don't know. Just a thought. Thanks.
  2. hi I came across this news article with a possible timeline of the incident. (please note article is at least two weeks old i think) https://www.cbsnews.com/news/francis-scott-key-bridge-collapse-timeline-911-call-dali-cargo-ship-mayday-maps-construction-worker-recovery/ Also my personal thoughts : To me.. I don't think this incident was a terrorist attack.. because of several reasons.. For example : 1. This ship was not a small private boat with just a handful of people on board.... but rather it was a very large cargo ship with a crew of over 20 people.. In addition there were reportedly also two local /Usa ship pilots on board whose job (if I am not mistaken) was basically to guide the ship in and out of the port etc.. So.. hypothetically speaking.. if this were a case of say a ship captain going rogue and delibrately crashing the ship (which does not appear to be the case here).. but hypothetically speaking if it were the case.. one might expect that someone else on board that ship.. such as one of the other crew members or especially the local /Usa pilots.. would realise that something was very wrong... However I don't think I have read any reports of anyone on board going rogue? 2. There were radio communications made from the ship... alerting folk on shore that the ship was facing difficulties.. some minutes *before* the ship hit the bridge support.... This enabled law enforcement to prevent traffic from entering the bridge (on both sides of the bridge).. If this were a terrorist attack.. why would they inform folk onshore that the ship was in trouble? In addition.. if I am not mistaken from the ship's 'black box' or recorder that was recovered.. it appears to have audio which indicates efforts being made to try to get the ship under control etc.. including trying to lower the anchor/s etc? Why would such efforts have been made if it were simply a terrorist attack..? (Also the ship apparently lost speed *before* it hit the bridge support. Why would terrorists try to slow down a ship so much.. before hitting the target?) 3. This ship was not an american ship. It was more um 'international'. For example it was a singapore flagged ship.. with a crew that was either entirely or almost entirely Indian nationals.. and the ship was being chartered by a danish shipping company.. and on its way to deliver goods to sri lanka. As a singapore flagged ship.. it comes under singapore laws.. And therefore the authorities in singapore are also investigating this incident.. and not just the Usa authorities.. (And singapore is a country with a reputation for strict laws and generally a no nonsence approach) So perhaps it might also be good to wait and see what the outcome of both countries investigations are? Anyways just some personal thoughts. Thanks for reading. And sorry for the long post! Thanks. :)
  3. A lot of Chinese citizens do travel overseas as tourists etc. etc. Including to my country and some other countries too. Also.. I am wondering whether or not the figures given in the OP article for 'Chinese nationals' includes Hong Kong citizens too? Just wondering. Thanks.
  4. I am very sorry but I don't know. Perhaps you could send him a message using the message thingy on this forums? (If you haven't already I mean) Some folk have their settings set to send them an email notification when they receive a new message. Not sure if that is the case with Arrabon or not though.. But just a thought.. I hope this helps. Thanks.
  5. Just a small note. I came across this news article which has some info. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/divers-search-baltimore-harbor-six-presumed-dead-bridge-collapse-2024-03-27/ Thanks.
  6. hi all Just a small note. With regard to definitions in the english language.. I am not sure about UK english.. but at least in american english.. if I am not mistaken.. a term for miscarriage can be "spontaneous abortion". For example from Usa medical site : https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/001488.htm Please note that my belief is pro-life. But I wanted to mention this because I am thinking maybe it might possibly be a medical term maybe? :not-sure Anyways.. Just a small note thats all. Thanks.
  7. Happy Birthday ladypeartree! I hope you have / had a wonderful day! :)
  8. hm.... I would not want to be filmed either.. without my knowledge or willingness..... and I am not from China.... However that said.. it might be helpful to learn more information about the situation.. for example more information on who the group was and why they did not want to be filmed.. etc.. etc.. Currently there seems to be not very much info so far perhaps? Just some thoughts thats all. Thanks.
  9. @one.opinion Thanks for info about the public education campaign. To me that sounds like a normal campaign in many countries I think? And not just for Covid .. but also for other public health or safety type situations too.. (For example to educate the public on what to do in case of floods etc. ) Anyways.... Thank you very much for taking the time and effort to look it up and to explain to me. It is appreciated.
  10. @Debp Currently.. in my part of the world.. there is a Covid surge going on... that is worsening.. The number of cases (and hospitalisations.. ICU cases.. etc) is increasing.. And it is not just my country that is experiencing a Covid surge over here.. I am not sure what is causing this Covid surge.. i.e whether it is because of the new subvariant/s.. or whether it is because of other reasons.. I have no idea.. But it is starting to become worrying.. -------- I am wondering whether or not the health authorities in your country might be looking at what is happening over here in this part of the world.. and perhaps are trying to prevent something similar in the Usa maybe? (If it has not started in your country yet I mean?) Anyways just a thought that's all. I hope everyone stays safe. Thanks.
  11. I am not in the Usa.. so I am not sure what exactly is being refered to in the OP post? However public health campaigns / advertisements encouraging covid vaccinations.. was done by many governments around the world.... So if this is what is being refered to.. I am not sure if I fully understand what the issue is? For example below is an old news article (from early May 2021) https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-05-04/singapore-new-zealand-covid-vaccine-ads-australia-astrazeneca/100112782 Just wanted to share. Thanks. Ps. Glad to see you posting again @one.opinion Welcome back!
  12. Agreed. Wayne brother.. Sometimes on a forums there might be many people who might read a post or even agree with it .... but might not necessarily always respond /post in the thread. I for one am glad you are a member of worthyforums. And I hope you would reconsider deleting your account. Perhaps just try a break instead if needed? (as suggested by others?) Take care ok brother? Best wishes to you always.
  13. um.... I am thinking perhaps sometimes it might be a way of letting others know one is a Christian.. especially in places / situations where Christians might be a minority? Or perhaps a way to be a witness? (or um something along that lines? sorry not sure how to word what I mean ) Just some thoughts. Thanks.
  14. Christ died on a cross. Matthew 27 : 11-56 NIV https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew 27%3A11-56&version=NIV KJV https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew 27%3A11-56&version=KJV John chapter 19 NIV https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John 19&version=NIV KJV https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John 19&version=NIV Thanks.
  15. um.... Very sorry but I am a bit puzzled perhaps ? I am not fully certain why the main article just compared data from 2022 (and 2021?) with data from 2016.... but possibly totally overlooked data from fiscal years 2017 until 2020? Or in other words data from 2016 (President Obama administration) was compared with data from President Biden administration.... but data from the President Trump years was mostly left out or not included? The reason I am asking is because when the President Trump administration took over.. the number of refugees admitted into the Usa was drastically cut.. (year by year?).. Since there was a sharp cut in the overall number of refugees allowed into the Usa.... it is quite likely the number of Christian refugees allowed to enter the Usa might have also become reduced.... Also even the main / source article figure of a ceiling of 15000 refugees for fiscal year 2021.. was actually originally set by the President Trump administration.... and just carried on (initially) by the President Biden administration before it was revised later.... Anyways.... Just a small note that's all. Please please understand that I am not trying to slam President Trump ..or President Biden.. or any other american President.... It is up to the Usa and americans to decide how many refugees from faraway countries they wish to admit to the Usa every year. But.. for data to be compared fairly.. it often needs to be given in context.. And data being left out might potentially (unintentionaly?) distort what actually happened? Just my personal thoughts thats all. Truly no offence intended. Thanks.
  16. Hey! hmpf.. durian is delicious.. just can have a strong smell that's all.... (I am guessing sometimes perhaps might be an acquired smell maybe? kinda like an acquired taste but for smells? I dunno ) Ponders throwing a durian party on worthy? hehe *grins
  17. Agreed. The term "Full stop" is used in UK english. https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/full-stop
  18. um.... I think there is a mistake in this worthy news article.... @WorthyNewsBot @George Malaysia is not an 'islamic dictatorship'. It has a parliamentary system of government. There has been several changes in government leadership of the country in recent years. It currently has a 'unity government' after the last election in 2022 resulted in a hung parliament. https://www.malaymail.com/news/malaysia/2023/01/12/should-malaysia-change-its-electoral-system-to-avoid-a-future-hung-parliament-heres-what-analysts-say/48509 It has never been enforced because (at present) it cannot be enforced / implemented. If I am not mistaken currently in Malaysia only two states (ruled by a religion based political party) may have passed laws regarding death penalty for leaving islam. However such laws cannot be implemented (at present) because the Federal Constitution / legislation etc of the country does not enable states to do so. So unless the Federal Constutition of the country is ammended.. and/or possibly certain federal legislation etc is ammended.. those states cannot enforce such a death penalty.. Just a small fyi. Thanks.
  19. Thank you very much for explaining. Agreed. For me what I find a bit confusing in the article is the possible emphasis on marriage to increase the number of Christians in a country (or rather combat a decline in the numbers) ? To me if the number of Christians in a country is declining.... And the decline is not being caused by something such as say a mass exodus of Christians from that country due to genocide or something.... i.e. If it is simply a decline in the number of Christians in the country... then I might expect churches to perhaps try to find even more ways to reach out to people with the gospel message .... i.e. to try to reach out to both those born and raised in Christian families and those who were not.... with the gospel. Or in other words to increase the number of Christians in a country.. I would expect the emphasis to be on reaching out / sharing gospel message/ evangelism etc.. rather than on marriage.. ? I dunno. Maybe I am just misunderstanding? Anyways.. thank you very much for explaining to me. Appreciated.
  20. hi FJK I am very sorry.. but I disagree.. To become a Christian one needs to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.... That is how a person becomes a Christian.... And that is the case regardless if one is born in a Christian family.. or if one is born in a non-Christian family. If people needed to be born in a Christian family in order to become a Christian.. then a large number of Christians in my country (especially those of my generation and older) simply would not exist (as Christians).... And a large number of pastors etc. in my country also simply would not exist (as Christians) either.... Because there are many many Christians over here who were born in non-Christian families.. and only became Christians later on such as in their teens or twenties or older etc. This is a very normal situation over here. Thanks.
  21. umm.... I am a bit surprised /puzzled with this article. I am wondering whether or not I might have misunderstood what the author is meaning? For starters.... to become a Christian an individual needs to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. That is what makes a person a Christian.... Simply being born in a Christian family.... or attending church regularly.... or having parents who are married (or divorced).... does not automatically mean one is a Christian...... It is a decision the individual needs to make i.e to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour... that makes a person a Christian.... not the marital status of their parents? (so I don't fully understand the emphasis in this article? ) Secondly.... with regards to people having the same faith / religion as their parents..... I think that there are many many Christians around the world (including in my own country).. who would likely be extremely glad that they currently do NOT have the same religion as their parent/s had or used to have.... There are many Christians in the world who are born and raised in non-Christian religions families.... and later on.. often in their teens or early adulthood.. (or sometimes even at older ages etc).. they hear the gospel message etc.. and make a decision for Christ.. (and become born again Christians).... Having parents who are Christians... or even having parents who are married.... is not a mandatory pre-requisite to become a Christian.... So I possibly don't fully understand this article....? Or the emphasis of this article..? Thanks.
  22. hi @Daniel Marsh Um.. just a small note. But maybe sometimes might not be very safe sometimes to post physical address in a public forums? (Even for yummy pie! ) Sorry.... just my personal thoughts thats all.... No offence intended. Thanks
  23. Ooooo is that a pie? Ponders getting plate and fork ready.... just in case someone wants to share..? hehe j/k sure looks delicious though..
  24. Sometimes even when someone hadn't even been vaccinated with a Covid vaccine.. it is just automatically assumed that if they collapsed etc. that it *must* have been because of a Covid vaccine For example I am thinking of soccer player Christian Eriksen who collapsed during a match ( Thankfully he survived :)) He hadn't even been vaccinated with a Covid vaccine at that point in time.. but the fake news /speculation still initially spread Frustrating I think. (sorry just wanted to vent a little. )
  25. I truly hope you come back. You are needed here.
