The verse you quote can also be seen to talk about other kinds of temptations,, like other sins.. A person can be tempted to steal something but can resist that temptation and walk away without stealing the item..

While i respect the right of Bible believing parents to apply corporal punishment upon their kids it must be within reason.. Delivering severe beatings is not to my conscience within reason.. I hope the LORD moves you to temper your seemingly severe judgements to the minimum required.. If they reject the Atonement of the LORD Jesus as a Gift.. If they reject the teachings of Jesus.. Then yes they will be rejected even when they cry Lord Lord on the day of judgement and tell Him about all the wonderful works they have done in His name..

I would suggest that when you have only two options and you don't really like either.. You then decide to select the option that is the less offensive to you.. So when i came to Trump and Clinton these voters selected Trump because Clinton was far more offensive to them..

You do not require the widows and orphans to be in your country to be able to give support for them.. Actually you can offer support for more people if they are kept out of your first world country.. Let me explain.. In a first world country with first world standards and costs, supporting a widow and an orphan with food housing and clothing can cost you near on 60,000 to 80,000 dollars per year.. But if that woman and orphan are in a refugee camp in lets say Northern Iraq you can support 10 widows and 10 orphans with housing food and clothing for 60,000 to 80,000 dollars a year.. So if your nation has a 6 billion dollar aid budget it can either support 100,000 needy people in the USA or it can support 10 times that number 1 million people in third world countries.. Whats better? take in 100,000 and allow 900,000 to starve to death.. Or close the borders and not allow these dependent people to enter your first world nation? I will give you the figures from the Australian government to house illegal immigrants offshore.. It costs $400,000 Australian dollars PER ILLEGAL Immigrant.. Which is in US dollars $286,170... Imagine how many people 286,170 dollars could support in a third world nation in a refugee camp? You could support in comfort 10 big families in a third world refugee camp for that kind of money..

Well Richard the Internet and forums like this allow people to bring forth important questions about Christianity in an anonymous way.. So as long as you are not known then you should be able to ask any question and put forward the thoughts you have on any doctrine you wish to discuss.. Some forums might end up evicting you because your position is deemed Heretical.. But usually even the one deemed a heretic is given some time to give their thoughts and receive replies.. So with that come forward and detail your problem.. You don't need to identify the church.. The belief / doctrine is what is important..

While i agree with you that we live in the days of many false christians.. I do not focus on the failings of people because we are all sinners.. I focus on what they believe and in Whom do they trust.. So the borderline for me is not about how well they perform in the area of sin avoidance of good works doing.. I know how that feels.. Hating ones life in this world is Biblical.. John 12: KJV 25 "He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal." The more we are aware of the faultiness of this world and our lives in it and the more we know about the perfection that is God and the transformation that awaits us in eternity with Him the more we will be unsatisfied with our life in this world.. We shall hate our faultiness and hate the corruption and suffering we see around us.. Of course we can hope to be granted an early mark out of this life, but we have to have faith in God and allow Him to call us out when He deems it the right time.. While we are here we should just do our best to love others and share the Hope we have in God and the Way He has made to Redeem us..
