  1. While I pray his optimism turns out to be justified, it is still too early to call. The winner will be the one who builds the winning coalition, and this Kahlon fella isn't exactly saying encouraging things in regards to throwing his support behind Netanyahu. So we will see.
  2. For me it is all about worship, that is my main purpose for going, to praise Him.
  3. In regards to the angels, this is the scripture that I would point to. Luke 20:34 Jesus said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, 35 but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; 36 for they cannot even die anymore, because they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.
  4. I agree with everyone else, and really like what OneLight, wrote let the Holy Ghost be your teacher. I agree with this as well.
  5. My current church did that about a decade ago.
  6. It's good to see you again.
  7. Winter actually got a little lame there for about twenty years, the last three have resembled the winters of my youth. Not just a couple of snow storms in a three month span anymore, now the weather sticks around for months like it use to.
  8. Jeff, I'm a little confused, you have the 7th trumpet blowing twice in your sequence, I put those in bold and underlined them for you. Is that a typo for one of them, or can you explain this?
  9. Praying for you.
  10. I think for a house church to be effective it needs a good leader, and the majority of people need to be well grounded themselves. Amateur hour in either of these two areas and the results can be disastrous, as we have seen proven historically true time and time again. I was part of a house church that had twelve regulars, and for me it was constructive for growth, it may not be for all people.
  11. It has been a pleasure chatting with you drew, I look forward to more interesting conversations in the future. So glad to hear you are settling in now.
  12. Hello Jeff, I think this is a good question you ask, so then I guess it just becomes a matter of identifying what day we believe the "blessed day" is. First, I look to see what is said regarding the day of His coming. Zephaniah 1:15 A day of wrath is that day, A day of trouble and distress, A day of destruction and desolation, A day of darkness and gloom, A day of clouds and thick darkness, 16 A day of trumpet and battle cry Against the fortified cities And the high corner towers. Amos 5:18 Alas, you who are longing for the day of the Lord, For what purpose will the day of the Lord be to you? It will be darkness and not light; 19 As when a man flees from a lion And a bear meets him, Or goes home, leans his hand against the wall And a snake bites him. 20 Will not the day of the Lord be darkness instead of light, Even gloom with no brightness in it? In those few examples I have a hard time defining this day as "blessed." This day is the one I would define as the "blessed" day. Revelation 21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, 4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” Revelation 22:3 There will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve Him; 4 they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. Revelation 22:14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. To me when we are looking for a day to define a "blessed" day, this one jumps out as the top contender. Just something for you to consider, God bless.
  13. Keeping my dear brother in prayers, miss you ncn.
  14. Amen, praying too.
  15. God is good.
  16. I use to post on another forum, now just here.
  17. Katrina, Things don't always come right away, but you can't let your faith be shaken by the things of this world. The enemy wants you to doubt, so naturally when you begin to make an effort to draw closer to God, you should expect trouble. These are things you will see as you grow in your faith, but there are a few things you said that I wanted to show you where you need to address your approach. Matthew 5:44 But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, Luke 6:28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. 10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity. 11 Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. 12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. 13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
  18. I was working at a chemical plant recently as a contractor. Since it is on what is considered a "seaport" ( the Detroit River), the security was handled by the department of homeland security. It was pretty tight access to get in and out, but I suspect that does not apply to all of these facilities.
  19. Hollywood never gets anything right. Are there any movies based on historical events that they do not twist and distort the facts in? I don't bother with movies anymore, and I didn't bother to see either of these two movies because I knew they would not do the movies properly. Maybe the real question is, why do believers support anything that comes out of Hollywood anymore?
  20. I think it goes hand in hand with what Isaiah prophecies in chapter 60.
  21. God knows what the enemy is thinking, just as He knows what all of His creation is thinking. So my answer would be that what Satan intends for evil, God purposes to serve His will. Just as we see examples of in scripture, such as the crucifixion itself. The enemy thought he had won, until of course three days later Jesus rose. The enemy may know scripture, but he does not understand it, nor does he understand the mind of God. Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? 33 Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; 34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. 35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 Just as it is written, “For Your sake we are being put to death all day long; We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
  22. Doctors swear an oath but they are permitted to find another doctor to provide care they cannot. This was granted to medical care folks who have moral objections to performing abortions etc. This doctor did find another doctor to attend to the baby. This was within the standard of care set by the medical community. That's good to know, hopefully that will remain in place for them, as it should outside of emergency situations.
