  1. Simple rule of thumb for me, is always look in scripture for the symbolic references found in scripture. The difference here in thinking is, nowhere in scripture does it state anything about Rome or a Christian denomination becoming a spiritual whore in His eyes. The connection to Rome is always tied to the city on seven hills, which also points to Jerusalem, a city on seven hills. The ultimate clarification is offered in Ezekiel 16, where this is said. Ezekiel 16:44 “Behold, everyone who uses proverbs will use this proverb about you: ‘Like mother, like daughter.’" Proverbs aren't to be forgotten, they should be passed down from one generation to the next. Within this chapter, Jerusalem is told she is worse than Sodom, and we all know what happened there. You won't find a more scathing or clear description of the mother of harlots than what you find in Ezekiel 16, unless you look outside of scripture. John's symbols won't be found outside of scripture though, once you venture out there it is typically based on emotions from those who have escaped the RCC's clutches. Nothing has changed for Israel since God gave this prophecy through Ezekiel, nor does anything change for them until they look upon the one whom they pierced. The greatest abomination is yet to come, and it doesn't take place in Rome, it takes place in Jerusalem, the centerpiece of the end times. God bless
  2. Give Ezekiel 16 a read, there is no mystery. Also, I would add, the RCC did not exist when the church began.
  3. 19 Bread is made for laughter, and wine gladdens life, and money answers everything.
  4. Psalm 150 Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! 2 Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! 3 Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! 4 Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! 5 Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! 6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
  5. Jerusalem, the anti-christ's seat of power.
  6. 17 Happy are you, O land, when your king is the son of the nobility, and your princes feast at the proper time, for strength, and not for drunkenness!
  7. “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God," (from Revelation 19:1)

    Wasted years?

The passage in question is relating to Israel in the end times, when they accept Jesus. As I understand it, the reference is to the blessings they will receive on account of their restoration to God. Joel 2:24 “The threshing floors shall be full of grain; the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. 25 I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you. 26 “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. And my people shall never again be put to shame. 27 You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God and there is none else. And my people shall never again be put to shame. This is followed up by the passage Peter quoted at Pentecost, in regards to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. In following the chronology given by the prophets Ezekiel and Zechariah, the spiritual restoration comes first, which to me is what the information references. The threshing floors full of grain as a reference to the bread of life, the wine and oil to the joining of the body, Gentile and Jew. Israel is symbolically linked to the fig tree, and Jesus as the vine in regards to the wine. In essence, what you have is a representation of what communion is about, the bread and the wine. The oil being the Holy Spirit. What we can never forget, is that Israel was blinded in part so that the door for the Gentiles was opened. What is being restored to them is their understanding, the blinders are being removed. God bless
  9. 15 The toil of a fool wearies him, for he does not know the way to the city.
  10. I Delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.” (psalm 40:8)
  11. Psalm 31:19 Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind! 20 In the cover of your presence you hide them from the plots of men; you store them in your shelter from the strife of tongues. 21 Blessed be the Lord, for he has wondrously shown his steadfast love to me when I was in a besieged city. 22 I had said in my alarm, “I am cut off from your sight.” But you heard the voice of my pleas for mercy when I cried to you for help. 23 Love the Lord, all you his saints! The Lord preserves the faithful but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride. 24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!
  12. 13 The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness, and the end of his talk is evil madness.
  13. Some jobs can be that way, I work around a bunch of mechanics, so the language can be pretty rough at times. Not sure where you are working, but maybe it is just not the right fit for you. I don't think I would stay at a job where people were cursing at me all the time. God bless
  14. 11 If the serpent bites before it is charmed, there is no advantage to the charmer.
  15. How can someone reject all religious and moral principles and hold to Christianity? Of course the two aren't compatible, nihilism would reject the ten commandments, it rejects morality of any sort. Nihilism is a free for all, just another name for anarchy.
  16. Nowhere in scripture do you find forgiveness without repentance. It is a concept that does not exist. Matthew 12:31 Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Philippians 2:12 [ Lights in the World ] Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. God bless
  17. Remember that every person is made special, in their own way. This young man may not be book smart like others, or maybe not even have common sense as most see it, but one day he could come up with an invention that makes your life easier. You never know what one is capable of, and regardless of how smart you think they are, they are still a person, just like you. They have feelings, they have a heart, they have a mind, and they want to be accepted for who they are, just as you do. God bless
  18. Loss is a difficult thing to accept when it comes, so is change. What you need to start thinking about, is a new normal, for the near future, and beyond. Whatever happens from this point, things will not be exactly as they were before. Your first love though, is the Lord, so keep your mind on that. We are all praying for you and your mother. God bless
  19. He has a point, there is no such thing as a perfect church, they all have people in them lol. Thing is, if you both feel they are preaching unsound doctrine, moving on would be the wiser choice. Perhaps you can convince him to try other churches, just to see what is out there. Will be praying for you. God bless
  20. Maybe now all those who think this isn't happening will take heed lol
