  1. I am not a theologian by any means but I know how amazingly detailed God's prophecies are in Ezekiel (especially in today's geopolitical climate). Regardless of your stance regarding the Rapture...I urge you to read straight through Ezekiel 36-39. God gave very specific detail about what He will do for Israel in the last days...and so many of those things are in the works right now. Very exciting. Personally, I think these chapters support a pre-Trib stance, but my main point here is to just read Ezekiel and think about current events regarding Israel, Russia, Iran, etc...
  2. Finding this topic when I did is very well timed. About an hour ago I read about the discovery I assume is being discussed here. Signature rings HAVE been found...but not those belonging to kings...but residents of the City of King David. FOX did a story on it today. https://www.foxnews.com/science/rare-ancient-treasures-bearing-biblical-names-discovered-in-jerusalems-city-of-david
  3. I wonder where Chicago ranks on that list.
  4. People are using cars and cargo trucks to commit mass murder as well. Dangerous ideologies mixed with "not quite there" mentality = not good. Let me also point out that alcohol is directly related to thousands of deaths each year in the US....preventable deaths. We could easily prevent deaths by restricting access...but people believe they have the "right" to drink.
  5. Bottom line...this is not a problem that can be solved with legislation. Hatred, murder and violence start in the HEART. Laws cannot fix hatred or "isms." The problem is spiritual and too many people are blind to that. What do we really expect to happen in Western nations when we have practically outlawed Jesus? We are witnessing the direct results of over-embracing humanist lies and rejecting the Judeo-Christian ideals that cause nations to thrive and remain free. I don't know if the US is to the point of God punishing/judging...but we are certainly to the point where God is forced to withhold blessings because of national sin. How can we solve the problem of mass murder? Only one possible way...EVANGELISM and living in obedience to God. Nothing else will work. Where citizens are controlled strictly, government does the murdering instead. True change does not happen without a true change of heart.

The biggest part of all the escalation is spiritual and social media is likely the biggest non-spiritual part of it. Some good has come from this development to be sure...but anything that can be used for good can also be used for evil. Not only does the internet provide instant audiences for people who are "not right"...it also provides a means to indoctrinate, negatively influence, and stir up hatred...all without leaving home. Dangerous ideology and horrible lies can be spread in a matter of minutes. One nut job can reach a million people almost instantly now. scary times....
  7. Maybe these are just some of Soros' paid protesters who haven't met their marching quota for the week?
  8. It's refreshing and reassuring to have a President not only honors our military but also allows them the freedom to do what they are trained to do.
  9. Earlier in this thread Sleep Apnea was brought up a a possible cause for the husband's lack of memory. No, this is not how apnea works. With sleep apnea you wake up multiple times during sleep because you literally stop breathing. This of course results on lack of sound sleep and is also hard on your heart and brain. It doesn't cause someone to rush....anywhere. Quite the opposite, it makes one feel tired and sluggish. Without details, my first thought is that the husband was very drunk and had blacked out. I was married to an alcoholic and went through this many times. I would be angry and hurt the next morning and he would wake up cheerful with no real recollection of the previous night. When told what had happened, he would argue and tell me that never happened?!?! Since he didn't remember trapping me in a room while I cried and begged him to let me out...then I must've made it all up. And since he would never call me <insert horrible name> while sober, he would never do it while drunk. How could a man who drank an entire 5th of whiskey the evening before and passed out on the couch try to tell me what happened when he was in a drunken stupor? At times I would get a half-hearted apology...something like, "if that happened (but I don't think it did) I'm sorry." So not only did he pass me off as a liar and drama queen, he downplayed his addiction and told me I don't really matter.I got really tired of empty apologies and promises. Perhaps the husband described in this thread had some sort of legitimate illness that caused him to black out. Even if that were the case, he needs to show his wife that repairing her is the main thing of importance. He needs to choose words that show how concerned he is that she is damaged...he needs to make her wellness the focus, not his possible actions. It needs to be about putting her back together...and if admitting something happened will help her, who cares whether or not he remembers it? Just fix her so you can both be much happier.
  10. And why isn't Jerusalem mentioned in the Quran? Jerusalem was stolen through violence and now claimed as a "sacred" site for Islam.
  11. Yikes!!! These are the kinds of disasters that happen when people read something once in an English Bible and think they understand the original intent of the original languages, etc. Context, culture, traditions, and an understanding of Jewish history is necessary to even begin to understand the Bible clearly. Very few Christians are capable of grasping it all on their own...much less the time to study non-stop with the demands of daily life. There ARE however many wonderful tools available to us today to help us dig into the deeper things of Scripture. I think we all benefit from using them and measuring them against the Bible. Also, I think we should all read James 2 for review about the tongue (typing fingers). Some really nasty things are being said in this thread.

    tongues

I have to assume that Paul spoke more in tongues than any of the Corinthians because he went out as a missionary spreading the Gospel to various peoples in various places. The gift of tongues as described in Acts 2 would have been essential in spreading the Gospel before copies of Scripture were widely available to everyone.

In order to use Mark 16 as a support passage it seems the other signs would be common today as well...but we don't see that happening today. We see some phonies trying to take people's money via fake miracles...but where are the genuine sign gifts? Also, the tongues mentioned in Acts 2 (foretold in Mark 16) allowed people from all around the region to understand the Disciples' word in his/her own language. I don't put God in a box saying He never gives this gift to missionaries at times or whatever...but it is certainly not something done on a regular basis as a sign to unbelievers.

Does anyone have Scripture to support their private prayer language? Acts 2 certainly doesn't describe anything like this.
  15. She also thought Stone Henge was pointless...even for historical sentiment. She proposed grind it down to dust and selling it to tourists. lol
  16. Perhaps they are trying to be the party that appoints judges who honor the Constitution. The Supreme Court has been unconstitutionally legislating from the bench for a long time. FINALLY, there is a chance to fix that an rebalance the gov't powers.
  17. Sometimes we need to remember that this website is public...unsaved people DO come here. When we fight in anger rather than discuss in love, we are being a poor testimony for Christ. It happens all too often lately.
  18. Regarding Trump...to me it's not vitally important that he is a Christian...what is important to me is that his life demonstrate his profession. He came out as a Christian... so did Obama. Why did Obama do it? To get votes. Is that the only reason Trump apologetically stated he was a Christian? Or does Jesus really reign in his heart? The Christian Right was betrayed by one candidate, I am on guard about it happening again. I want candidates to let us see who they are...not put on a show based on what they think we want to hear. I can appreciate how hard it must be to live a Christian lifestyle when you are rich, famous and lacking nothing the earth has to offer. Temptation and peer pressure must be daunting. However, I don't think a candidate should play the Christian card unless they have a testimony that supports their claim. Not because of politics, but because of how Jesus is represented to the public by their life. I would hesitantly vote for Trump over Sanders because Sanders scares me like no other candidate ever has. I do NOT want that man nominating judges. I don't not see our Congress fighting Obama's circus of unconstitutional executive orders. Will Congress thwart Sanders any more effectively? Do we want to take that chance? Foreign Policy - Is Trump the person we want representing our country to the world? Heaven forbid. The man is rude and proud of it. He doesn't care if or who he offends. He is used to getting his own way and throws "Trumpertantrums" if it doesn't go his way. In debates he interrupts and yells at all the other candidates like a spoiled baby. He is not the type of representative I want for America. Another thing about Trump...he is NOT a Conservative. He is a "whatever suits me at the moment" guy in many/most ways. The man wouldn't even commit to voting for his party should he not get the nomination. He eventually did...at the urging of his campaign managers. This might not be fair, but I wonder if Trump is capable of leading the country in ways that directly benefit his own fortune. He may not be bent on doing that...but money is what makes him tick. He may be completely above reproach in that area...but I can't help but wonder a bit. SOUTH CAROLINA DEBATE - It is not too late to watch that debate. It is still be streamed in entirety on various websites. I don't want to provide any direct link because I'm not comfortable endorsing websitse I know nothing about. But, if you do a simple Google search for: Watch GOP debate South Carolina...or something to that effect, you will find access to the debate. It is in my opinion THE debate to see. True colors really came out on Saturday.
  19. I found these statistics to be very alarming. How many of the people represented in this data are migrating to free countries? Does their believe in and desire for Sharia magically disappear when they cross a border? Of course not. I'll just leave it at that and let the chart speak for itself. These statistics came from http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2015/12/07/muslims-and-islam-key-findings-in-the-u-s-and-around-the-world/ I didn't take the time to read the entire article and don't necessarily endorse everything written. This set of data is just one of many that indicate how strong Islam has become in the West.
  20. The West needs to wake up and take action before it's too late. There is more than one kind of Jihad. The Jihad we dub "extreme" involves converting and/or losing your head. Other forms of Jihad entail mass immigration and take over via population growth...and it's happening at an alarming rate. Westerners are too "PC" for their (our) own good. When are we going to start creating laws to protect ourselves from the harm Islam brings? While there are some peaceful Muslims, their religion is NOT one of peace. Just as their are luke warm Christians, there are also luke warm Muslims...which is not surprising considering many of them are forced to at least go through the motions of Islam...regardless of what they truly believe.
  21. Chiapas is where the Mayans lived. Some indigenous Mexicans in this area still have some left over Mayan sympathies....as if all the other stuff wasn't enough confusion. Plus, you add superstitions and Catholic mysticism into the mix...recipe for religious chaos. Plus there is extreme political chaos and the almost certain lack of formal education. I can't even imagine what goes on in more remote areas of the state.
  22. At least SOMEONE is helping Israel...even if only for a financial profit.
  23. Roman Catholicism does indeed have some very dark history (that may or not be over at this point) but the expulsion of these Protestants was by no means sanctioned by RC. The state of Chiatas has been a HUGE mess for centuries...and even today parts of the state are practically war zones. While it's true that various local Catholic leaders have been involved in the conflict, it is not a Catholic undertaking. I took some time to read about Chiapas and now have some understanding regarding what likely led to the Protestants being expelled. I didn't take the time to find information about the specific village where the violence occurred but I learned enough to get an idea of what is going on. Here are a few key terms I came across for anyone who might be curious: -Chiapas Conflict - Zapatista - Liberation Theology and Chiapas
  24. While we'll never truly know how many died at the hands of Communism (and other forms of Godless gov't) during "peace times" in the 20th Century alone...be it mass murders, executions, famine, disease, etc..., this article gives a ball park break down. http://www.thecommentator.com/article/4230/so_how_many_did_communism_kill My personal belief is there were many more off "the books" so to speak. With absolute power comes absolute corruption. Add atheism to that absolute power and human life has no meaning. Actions have no consequences for a gov't who believes itself to be supreme...and who could even judge them if there is no God?
  25. "Babylon" is mentioned over and over in Revelation. I'm not scholar, but I don't understand why it isn't taken literally...especially since the Euphrates is even referred to in regards to this Babylon. Horrible things have come out of Babylon since the beginning...and still do. Nimrod ruled all of civilization at Babylon which may or may not be relevant to future events...just something that makes me say "Hmmm...."
