Well, from about July until sometime in September (depending on what the weather does), I stay as close as possible to the A/C to avoid the sweltering heat and humidity here. When it's not unbearably hot and humid, I like fleamarkets, yard sales, etc.

well, i have a couple suggestions......

1. go to church.

2. help the pastor.

3. do a bible study.

4. go camping.

5. go fishing.

6. get a map of your state ( and if you are close to the boarder, then get a map of your neighboring states as well). using your town as the center point, draw a circle that would be about 100 miles from the center. then pick a route and take it, stopping at all the scenic sites, or historical sites, or even go looking for parks and other things you like to do ( leaf collections, rock collecting, post card collecting, ) or even just sight seeing...... Do you know how many people live with in an hours walk ( thats right walk ) from the ferry that takes people to the Statue of liberty? LOTS...... and how many of them have not seen the statue of liberty? most have not..... have you ever seen the worlds largest hand dug well? I have, have you ever seen the worlds longest hand carved wooden chain? I have, have you ever seen the worlds largest ball of twine? I have. have you ever seen the "little house on the prairie? I have..... some of these places are over 200 miles away, others just an hour ( 55 miles ) and some even as close as a 10 minute walk from my house.

7. start a new hobbie.

8. learn a new skill.

9. visit long lost relitives.

10. get a list of shutins from your church ( or other churches ) and visit them.

11. take a bike trip.

12. cut your hair, or let your hair grow.

13. grow a beard.

14. stop a habit you do not like, and start a new one you do like.

15. get a 5000 piece jigsaw puzzle and put it together, should take most the summer........

16. replace the roof on the house.

17. paint the house all differant colours.

18. paint you car multi coloured ( use a water soluable paint, so that all you have to do is go thru the car wash to get rid of it, seen a navy van that was done up like a hippie van with such paint, and when they was done messing around with it, they just washed it off..... )

19. go to as many weddings as you can in one day all at differant churches.

20. REST !!!!

21. most of all have fun.

 Whew! I'm afraid there wouldn't be any time for rest at all if anyone tried keeping up with you! Is it hot where you live in the summer? In fact, I couldn't keep up with all that, in one summer, I don't think!

i sleep.

i lay on a raft in the pool for an hour.

i stare at the computer monitor and hope the board is very active so i can keep occupied looking up scriptures on various topics. if it's slow, i console myself with scrabble-solitaire.

i watch countless movies with my daughter, which is the highlight of my day, but in about ten more days she'll be moving to texas with her dad and i won't even have that.

i wait and wait and wait through endless hours hoping my husband will be off work before the sun goes down.

when he finally does come home, i do more staring at the computer monitor hoping he won't spend a full two hours in the bathroom.

i turn on the tv and watch endless re-runs of forensic files, paramedics, oreilly factor, and things like that.

and i sleep.

fun? not really.

i have no transportation because my husband takes our only car to work. i have no friends or family here. i'm on a first name basis with everyone that works at my apartment complex from the groundskeeper to the manager because i see more of them than any living person.

my most meaningful relationships aside from my family are the people i know from around the world that visit this and other websites i hang out at.

boy, i sound like i'm having a pity party don't i? who's bring the chips and dip?

Let me jump in on this pity party. Summer used to be a time when I could sleep in, go to the beach, sleep some more...you get the idea. But since I have grown up and am not independently wealthy...summer is a time that is hot and humid. I get up at the crack of dawn and work everyday (except weekends). No more beach, no more sleep. Just responsibility....UGH! He he. It's not that bad. I don't get to see the beach much anymore (even though I live 10 miles from it) and I don't get to sleep as much...wait a minute...maybe it is that bad!

I like to get my family together, jump on my 10 million dollar boat, sail down to Cozumel and snorkel among the fish and reefs. Then we come back and we fly in my private jet to New York to go shopping and see a few broadway shows. The we all go overseas to take a 3 month long tour of Europe. Then we all come back and relax in my mansion with an olympic size swimming pool and spa with full service and treatments. After that, my personal chef creates a meal fit for a king for all of us and I sink into my huge feather bed and WAKE UP! :D

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
