hi,

i dunno where to post this topic... so i'll leave it to the moderators.

There is a Bible verse which says, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God..."

Can any of you tell me the significance of the word 'seek'. Its not look or wish for or any of the weaker words.

Can you tell me how to 'seek'. What should I do? Try to find out God's will all the time?

I need a whole preaching session about it. If you can preach to me it will be great. Or if you can redirect me to some message on the internet where somebody else has done a preaching session, it'll be very helpful too.

You can send those messages to my mail too. Its in my profile. Just leave a message here when you do.

Thankyou for your time.

God bless you.

Hello GerdaHannah,

There is a Bible verse which says, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God..."

The verse you are looking for is found in Matthew 6:33

Can any of you tell me the significance of the word 'seek'. Its not look or wish for or any of the weaker words.

To seek for something is to search for it until you find it and don't give up and you will find what you seek in the Lord.

Can you tell me how to 'seek'. What should I do? Try to find out God's will all the time?

Seek the Lord in the Bible reading your Bible is God's righteousnes revealed unto us we have to seek his righteous and as we do this in our life then God will add the things into our life the things we have need of as God shall ad all things unto us.

Blessings.

OC

Seeking the Kingdom of God also means making His kingdom your interest and priority. What is this Kingdom? The dominion within which God's will is done is His kingdom. We extend His kingdom by saving the lost and bringing them to Him. When this becomes your foremost mission in life, then all your worldly needs will be taken care of by God.

An important thing in Bible study is to read each verse in context. In this case Jesus has been talking about not laying up treasures on earth, but rather lay up treasures in Heaven where they won't be stolen or rot away. That where our treasures are, that is where our heart is. He goes on to say that we cannot serve two masters - God and mammon (riches). We are to put nothing ahead of serving God. If we seek fancy cars, or expensive clothing, big houses we usually sacrifice our walk with Christ in order to gain these riches. Jesus goes on to say that we should look to the lilies of the field and the birds of the air. Even Solomon was not adorned in such beauty. God knows our needs and will provide for us. So, instead of seeking worldly riches, we need to seek God. Here is how the Greek word zeteo (translated into English "seek") is defined:

1) to seek in order to find

a) to seek a thing

b) to seek [in order to find out] by thinking, meditating, reasoning, to enquire into

c) to seek after, seek for, aim at, strive after

2) to seek i.e. require, demand

a) to crave, demand something from someone

Now, all of this doesn't mean that we don't go to work and earn money to buy food, shelter, and clothing. What it means is to not allow money, food, shelter, and clothing get to be our god.

It means to look for in order to find. So in this passage it would mean to look for God in a manner that would result in your finging Him. In this case by looking for his kingdome first.

There are actually two words here that are equal in significance, and that is seek and first. Imagine this. You have heard there is an object of great value buried in your back yard. It is so valuable, that if you find it, you will never have to worry about money the rest of your life. How hard would you work at seeking it out? You need to put that same kind of effort in locating the "pearl of great price" which is Jesus, and his will. The verse doesn't say you aren't to be concerned with anything else, but it says to seek the kingdom first, meaning above earthly things. Finding God's will, and having an inheritance in his eternal kingdom is the most important thing, and if you seek God and his Kingdom first, God will take care of your carnal needs.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
