Maybe not mandatory military service if you object, but some type of civil service. Otherwise, forget about any assistance from Uncle Sam. And if you're rich, then make them pay up the wazoo. Besides, why wouldn't you want to serve your country. That's the problem with young people since the 60's. All gimme and no give.

I have a friend, that he has very few of his family living in the USA anymore..... why? cause they are conscientious objectors... they left the USA and went to Canada because they were being drafted. when amnesty was declared they stayed there, why? cause they believed if they were not willing to follow the rules of the land they were living in, they had no need in going back to it.... (another reason, they had made new lives for themselves as well, going back would not solve anything either)

I remember a movie years ago, I do not remember everything about it. but this part stuck in my mind (wish I could remember the name of it, dont even remember who was in it)....

in the movie, a roman soldier had been there when Christ died. and later converted to Christianity, and then arrested....

some of his former fellow soldiers were taunting him, and one then asked him if it was true, that a Christian was to turn his other cheek, the former soldier said yes (he was a big guy too) then the one that asked him hauled off and belted him in the face. the former soldier smiled and offered his other cheek..... when the soldier struck him, he turned and looked at the soldier that struck him and said......NOW IT IS MY TURN.....

I was raised not to fight... I learned to fight but was taught not to. I was taught to turn the other cheek as well....

THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE IN TURNING THE OTHER CHEEK AND BEING WALKED ON......

we are not told to be walked on, we are taught not to be door mats, in fact, we are to stand and be strong..... Christ even told His followers that if they do not have a sword, to go and get one........

now why would Christ tell them to get a sword if they were not to use it if need be? I am not saying cause trouble, but for protection......

God went out before David many many many times..... He has lead Israel in and through combat many many many times, even in recent years...... if you notice that when ever Israel is being attacked and Israel gets the upper hand... no one seems to care if Israel is the underdog, but when Israel get the upper (not if, when) hand, that is when every one gets upset and wants a truce.... Israel was never suppose to make any treaties from the very get go, and yet.... well,

anyways.....

a door mat we are not......

Many who claim they will not fight have no idea the pain and anger they feel when a loved one is badly beaten before their eyes, or their child raped or a loved one murdered. Until you stand in those shoes, all you are doing is stating your beliefs. Nobody really knows until that time comes.

The military isn't all about war and killing.

I know people who served during the Vietnam conflict and never saw one second of combat.

Too much TV and video games.

I was one of them. Never was in-country.

I think you love your enemy AND defend yourself and your homeland. There are very few careers more honorable and worthy than serving in the military. I believe that God gave us this country and He wants us to defend and preserve it. We may disagree with exactly how to lead it, defend it and preserve it - but I think we, as Christians, do love it ... and each other. God Bless.

You know in all my days of searching for an answer to this question. I dont think I've ever seen a better response than this one. Thanks Believer! Now I can truly understand how someone can be a Christian and a man of service in the military.

there was a young lady I use to know, grew up in Kansas City. spent her entire life there. she joined the Navy to get out of the area, to see new things and to go new places. she traveled to Orlando for boot camp, then spent a couple months in Orlando going to school, then she got orders to the Navy Processing Station in Kansas City.... spent her 4 years (minus training) in Kansas City. this was not what she wanted.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
