The last thing that I intended was for this to get controversial. I feel it is my error to have brought this up. I'm so sorry from the depths of my heart and spirit. Let us move forward with our love for our Jesus, our Savior, agree to disagree where needed, and know that the Holy Spirit moves us all in ways only He can do and in His perfect timing. Let anything further be from the discernment of our Lord. Ultimately, we are all here as one Body of Christ to praise and worship Him....and enjoy that as well! :t2:

Love to all through our Jesus!

I will never say something is not of God in regards to the Holy Spirit. I choose to remain silent. I agree we must be careful and use discernment, but I don't want to blaspheme the Holy Spirit, just in case. :)

Another thing to consider.

People are hungry.

Why do you think the occult is gaining ground?

What will you give the young people to compete with Harry Potter, Yu-Gi-Oh, and all these things? A cozy seat?

So, how do you translate "joy" - being baptised in vinegar?

To continue or to drop it? THAT is the question.

I saw enough to know that most in that sect are chasing signs. It got toward the end that a lot if not most stopped listening to sound doctrine.

It's trickling down from the top, so even the ones who are seemingly unaffected will one day be infected or will have to come out. Yes, there are some who are still in who have the right heart toward God, but how long can they maintain in a climate of falsehood and charasmatic chaos before the leaven works on them also?

It stung me good before I got out...i was as decieved as the next person, if not worse off.

Only by the grace of God over a years period did God help me get my head screwed back on straight....Im sure I was no worse off than any person that had came out of a cult.

I don't know about anyone else, but this has piqued my interest. I don't know about anyone else, but I wouldn't mind hearing more about Jamie's experiences in this. Can we continue without offending anyone or getting angry? Does anyone else want to know, or maybe Jamie could PM me. If Jamie wouldn't mind of course. I've never had this experience, but want to know more about what others have experienced, good or bad.

Let us move forward with our love for our Jesus, our Savoir, agree to disagree where needed, and know that the Holy Spirit moves us all in ways only He can do and in His perfect timing. LOL nowadays sometimes it seems like it can't be helped. As long as people are not feeling attacked instead of being able to show the reasons for why they believe what they do. Ever notice?? We tell people not to seek out the 'experience' but God. Yet we base many of our decisions from our experience. Like a circle we can't get out of.... At any rate - this can be productive instead of a destructive talk as long as we all respect that we have had different experiences and that God is in the process of teaching us all right from wrong.

Bless you hon!!

the Toronto Airport revival is from God. look at the fruit.

I could never return to man controlled church services. Let the Holy Spirit loose!

If God wants to deliver someone and heal them in the middle of some guys preaching, well man should step out of the way and let Him. that's why the churches have been so ineffective for so long. Well those churches that are stepping into this river of joy are letting God have His way, and those are the same churches that are having revivals and miracles and healings and salvations and church plantings and pastors who were totally burnt out and ready to quit revived and restored and going back to their churches and having God break through.

this is true in some respects, however I have seen the 'fruit' from that church walk into mine and tell me how damaged they were. How disturbing it was. Then there are others who wish our church was more like theirs. Can't win.....

....God should have the service. He should always have it. However, tongues wasn't supposed to edify the unbeliever - but the believer. An unbeliever looks at someone who speaks in tongues and gets freaked out and doesn't understand it. Do they really need to see someone getting 'delivered' in the middle of preaching at a church service?

Don't get me wrong!! God's ways and timing are higher than ours and we don't understand him, and I come from a charismatic church! I have seen for most of my life what people like some of you here question. And I question it to. And I can't look at everyone who gets the Holy Giggles that they are truly receiving something from God. My spirit starts to get crawly and I want to get away. But I also must be careful not to judge, for God could be reaching the heart of that person and who am I to think that I can see where only God sees?

I think the main problem here is that the genuine laughing that God gives has been lumped in with the Holy laughter, writhing on the ground, barking etc. And why not when that gets all the press and worry? It is disturbing to see someone bark 'in the spirit'. Good grief, welcome to the land of not normal!!! I could never begin to imagine how that experience could be healing or freeing!! LOL that doesn't seem right..... :)

A service can be orderly still allowing for God to have the freedom to move. Besides.....I noticed something the other day which caused me to ponder and go hmmmm.......when Jesus delivered someone, it happened. They weren't being delivered for hours on a floor somewhere....so why for us as children of God who are supposed to have the power of God in us - does it take so long if we are praying for someone? I think maybe it is a question of understanding our faith and how much we know we can do thru faith. Jesus never questioned if he could drive out spirits, he just did it. He new what wasn't right according to his nature and his Father, and he just did it. I understand there are some spirits more powerful then others....but really, if we know our authority, why would it take that long? Saul was blinded for days I believe so that he could not look around him and get distracted. God had his complete and full attention - and rightly so for what all the things he was called to do for God - he needed to be radically changed.

When someone starts up in a service - sure God wants them to be freed, however, isn't it just like satan to want to disrupt a service?? Using that persons need against them and consequently the other people around them are distracted? Just some things I have been pondering........

Don't you just wish there was a verse in the bible for certain things??

KJVATW (King James Version According to Willow LOL :t2: )....."If thine eyes behold barking and laughing in a person, this is unbecoming of a believer and there is no righteousness in it. For the Lord does not bestow such behaviour, He has called us to a place of uprightness before men".......you know?? Something like that. Some things I wish the bible talked about.....but I think that is the interesting part about having to dig whether something is truly of God or not. It causes us to dig further in the word for things......and many times we find out other things in the process. It is refining and teaching.

Thank you all for your input. As iron sharpens iron........ :t2:

I understand your motive here for wanting to drop the subject. But, I feel it is for the best that the topic has come up because Christians must know what this is all about.

Please read the expose that I linked in my post above. After you have read it in its entirety, and only then, will you be able to make an informed decision.

It is difficult to make an informed decision when one only has one side of the story.

I would also recommend Christianity in Crisis, the book as a good summation of the issue.

Also, Counterfeit Revival is another good one that goes a bit further.

And, if you want to hear the heretical teaching "straight from the horse's mouth," you can get the audio CD version

We don't want divisions within the body of Christ, for certain, but chasing out wolves is an effort to maintain the unity, rather than destroy it. These men bring in heresy and draw away disciples after themselves.

Act 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Act 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

Act 20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

Blessings...

I agree. Jamie - you have no idea how many chords that struck in me. I have a good feeling I know exactly where you are coming from. If you feel comfortable, please share.

I heard something from X-files once (LOL yes I did used to watch that show when it first came out. How could I not?? It was filmed right near my home LOL ...kidding - not a good reason to watch it)

Anyways - in this one episode, the deep throat mystery guy said the most convincing way of hiding decepting was between 2 truths. And that is so true of differing ways of interpreting and acting upon scripture and people and even cults - that say they are enlightened. They take the truth......which has power in it, and warp and twist it with something not true. The result is damaging.

Dear Jamie, I hope God is healing and renewing you. I apologize on behalf of the ones who have decieved any of you here in any aspect of the truth of Christ. I pray you find healing and peace and just know that one day, they - as well as all of us - will have to answer for what we say and do.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
