Hi Strawberry jam

Welcome to worthy

God is way beyond our understanding but here is the result of my clumsy attempt to do so.

I came to Christianity via eastern religions and so have a view that others may not share.

Its my belief that our birth on this planet presents an opportunity to each human being to spiritualise themselves. This can only be done through his/her free will.

Each person can do this by following God's word, Jesus' example and self sacrifice in the service of others.

Painful experiences are like sandpapering the rough edges off a rock in order to get the desired shape. Like a baby not understanding why its mother cannot hold it in her arms all day, we don't understand why we have pain in our lives either.

Life on earth is just a flash in the pan in the scheme of things , but bliss awaits when we have been made perfect.

Christofine :emot-hug:

You are not the only one to voice this idea...

Many feel this way... I have certainly felt this way...

But we feel this way when we do not see God as He is..

He is righteous and holy and perfect and there is no fault in Him..

the faults are in us ...

We see through eyes that are colored by all the experiences of our lives ..

Through our flesh nature...

When God opened Job's eyes this is what he said..

Job 42:5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.

Job 42:6 Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

God sees perfectly ... Gods actions are perfect...

But be assured ...when you see it you will never accuse Him again...

men (we) are the sinners and the reapers of their (our) sin..

1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

We deserve an eternity of hell.. He is giving us and Eternity of Life...

I pray someone with a gift of sharing His Word will come along and show you God is above reproach by us ...

What do people mean when they say God is Good? I don't see a lot of good things about his actions in the OT if you look it over.

Could you give us an example of where you are seeing one of God's actions violating His goodness

Well, I have already seen many apologetic defenses for the passages in the OT that are particularly troubling and it just always boils down to something like God knows best. I'd say his absence is what is most troubling though. I know people say he is coming again, but Jesus if he was God certainly has been gone for a long time now.

What is one that is troubling for you personally?

I believe that God is good, especially in the OT. Look at what he had to put up with when the Israelites were set free from slavery out of Eygypt, and all they did was complain for 40 years. I believe He was and is very tolerant, even when the people didn't respect Him like they should have. Granted, Moses did have to intercede a time or two for them, but He still delivered their decendents to the Promised Land. So many in the OT testament were disobedient, as we ourselves are and He continually shows us His love and mercy.

Yes, Jesus is God and He has been gone for a long time. Well, not really gone, but He hasn't Raptured His church yet nor has He come to establish His Kingdom. You see, that is grace. He is giving as many people as possible time to repent and turn to Him. If Christ had Raptured His church prior to 1995 my husband would have been condemned by his own refusal to accept Christ. I am very grateful that Christ delayed because my husband has now accepted Christ as his personal Saviour. Two months ago my church had a revival and many people accepted Christ. What if He had returned before then? We can only look at things from our own perspective, but God is outside of what we can understand. I have found through experience that God knows best. If I just trust Him and don't try to out-think Him, things are much better in my life.

Strawberry Jam, have you ever accepted Christ? You are asking a very good question and so many stumble over these types of questions. I am really glad you are asking.

Actually if you read the whole OT you'll find he's very good. Because he's just.

Without justice there is no goodness, let alone love.

Oh My

How I Do Yearn

For The Return Of The Captain Of My Heart

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

2 Peter 3:3-4

But First His Mercy And His Grace

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

2 Peter 3:9

And Then His Judgement

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

2 Peter 3:10

Want Love? Call

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Acts 2:21

Love, Joe

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
