Okay. We are all taught like that there is a begginning and an end. A life long battle of mine, is the one question i have never had answered. Dont get me wrong. I love god and do believe he is real. Without a doubt but the phrase "GOD was God is and God will awlays be" Bothers me. WHERE did God come from? I dont know. I know i shouldnt dwell on it too much but it bothers me. I just wish like i could understand him more but this question i feel like keeps me from moving forward and i dont know to to like get over it.

Maybe im just TOO curious?

Asking questions is the only way to get answers. No, you are not too curious, and probably there are a lot of people who wonder this same thing. You will get some great answers here, but let me start by giving it a try.

As human beings we only know what we experience. We can watch the sun move across the sky, watch the hands on our clocks move forward, people are born, grow, and change. All of this tells us about time from our own perspective. Time is a deminsion. God exists outside of time and that is something that our human minds have a hard time grasping. One day we will be with Him and understand these things better.

yes that is true. and i JUST remebered a quote a visiting pastor once said to our church. He said that when we get to heaven, we'll know the answers to all our questions, but then, we wont care, We will be in heaven, home with our creator. All those questions wont matter anymore.

Not a silly question. Me I think time is an allusion moving in cycles within an eternal, time-less "NOW" God is that eternal, time-less "NOW".

We as human beings we can't conceive what eternity is. God is eternal no beginning no end "God was" meaning God has always been "God Is" meaning God is with us now in the present and "God always will be" meaning he is forever more. With God there is no beginning or no end all we can conceive in our finite minds is a beginning and an end.

One example I heard goes like this. When we go to be with our lord for eternity this is to give a little understanding to what eternity is. If you took a handkerchief and started to rub it over Mount Everst when you have rubbed it down to sea level with your handkerchief your first second in eternity has only just begin.

God always has been, always will be, no beginning no end, He will be forever more.

Hey

I think every believer wonders about that at same stage in his/her life. We can never know the answer here on earth...our minds are just inexplicably small...to me that just shows how small and limited our knowledge is as humans...stuff like that just perplexes us...we just cant get our minds around it...but the fact remainds that we are here and we see proof of God in our lives so we know and believe that He is there...maybe when we go to Heaven our minds will be opened.

Or, maybe, you're only TOO human, AmandaJean. It's normal to question such things and lots of us do. God is without beginning and without end; He IS time. He has always been and always will be. :noidea:

God has no beginning because HE IS the beginning...

Revelation 22:12-13 (New International Version)

12"Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. 13I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

We are not called to understand God because He is beyond understanding.

Isaiah 55:8-9 (New International Version)

8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways,"

declares the LORD.

9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Psalm 94:11 (New International Version)

11 The LORD knows the thoughts of man;

he knows that they are futile.

Blessings...South

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
