What Are Ways You Can Save Money ?

'man'

I used to do this many years ago when I was married.

We made a menu for each day of the week. You wouldn't believe the money you save on food by doing this. Instead of buying what you might need, you buy only what you will need. It takes planning and practice, but it does work.

This absolutely works  - not only does it save money on groceries but it cuts petrol cost as you are driving to the shops less.

Writing a shopping list also cuts cost (if you stick to it) 'cos you won't end up buying unnecessary items and whatever you do, DON'T go shopping when you are hungry.... :taped:

1. Use the clothesline instead of the dryer. Airers are excellent too.

2. Handwash dishes instead of using the dishwasher.

3. Wear less makeup, therefore buying less products. (makeup is waaay over priced).

4. Take "left overs" from home to work instead of buying lunch.

5. Buy a travel coffee mug - fill it from home instead of buying the coffee on the way to work.

6. Freeze as much food as possible - bread, milk etc.

7. Rotate food in the fridge/freezer often and get as much "mileage" out of your food and left overs. Outdated food in the bin is money out the window.

By the way, cutting off your internet is ok as long as your friend doesn't mind you using their computer. They might get tired of that arrangement after awhile.

How true, and if everyone saved money by cutting off their internet service there would be no computer to borrow.

When I am at home my a/c usually stays on 74 or 76; during the day when I am at work I turn it up to 78 or 80. :taped:

Keeping a clean filter in your AC at home and a clean air filter in your car will save a bunch on electricity and gas. :taped:

i shop goodwill and thrift stores to get some of what we need and it has really helped alot!

I also started watching my driving and where i go and that has saved me a lot in gas money!

Get your groceries from ALDI's. You can buy things like dried beans, pasta, meats etc in bulk and then split it up for storage. Aldi's also has generic toiletries and diapers and such.

My life is so much better with ALDIS here in our area, it saves me so much money.

Also, I borrow a computer becuz mine died and my friend and I have made arrangements that work, just FYI!

I'm gone all day so my A/C stays at 80, down to 74 between 5:30 and 11:00 P.M. and then back up to 80 when I go to bed. My highest bill this summer (over a hundred degrees for 10 weeks straight!) has been $88.00, in a house that is totally electric. I also use ceiling fans. Managing utility use really works! :taped:

I've been hanging out my laundry instead of running the dryer since last spring - with my big family, that really makes a huge difference.

And this week, I bought a box fan and put it in one of the windows to pull air through the whole house. It's been two days now, and seems to be doing pretty good. (Running the AC at night for sleeping.)

I pay $15 a month for an online game...

I never go out to dinner anymore.

I never go to movies anymore.

I save money on food, cuz I don't eat anymore.

I save money on gas, cuz I never leave my computer room.

I don't need a cell phone, cuz i shared this money saving advice with my friends so we just talk in-game now.

Theres more, but I gotta join a battle right now.... :P

You and my son. When he is really involved he can't even answer a call from his mama. Gonna steal the power cord to his computer one of these days, just to get a bit of a conversation with him.

We just moved back to the states from the Caribbean. That saved me a WAD of money on groceries right there. :emot-pray: And I just discovered Aldi's! It is so cheap... specially to someone used to paying $6.50 US for milk and $2.75 for a loaf of bread.

I am trying to get into using coupons. I have friends who save a lot of money that way. In Cayman we kept our AC at 80 in the day time and 76 at night. Where we stay now our power is free, so hubby has turned our apartment into a fridge capable of hanging raw meat. :emot-pray: I may use all my savings from groceries on buying sweaters to wear at home.

if there is a "99-Cents Only" store near you (nv, ca, az, and tx i think), shop there for produce.

shop at any dollar store for items such as light bulbs, extension cords, shower curtains, kitchen utensils, and many other household items.

if you live in an area where there are mexican markets (grocery stores), shop them for the BEST prices on meat (familiar and unfamiliar) and produce. mexican markets also typically sell cuts of meat that just aren't sold in national chains like albertsons and kroger, so on your first visit, take notes of some of the cuts and google ways to cook them.

last week i went shopping at a local mexican market. i spent a total of $42.31, and left there with 10 lbs of ground beef, 10 lbs of chicken leg quarters, several pounds of chicken thighs, 2 lbs of some of the best bacon i've ever tasted, a big packages of marinated pork chops, a big package of round steak that turned into awesome fajitas, and i forget what else but i counted up nearly 32 lbs of meat that day... i also got a whole bunch of onions, potatoes, tomatoes and red seedless grapes, and 2 boxes of frozen (aunt jemima) waffles. i felt like i'd just robbed the grocery store!

No. 1. Cook at home!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
