So......... You're telling me you're a soul sleep adherent?

What's that got to do with your OP in this thread? :24:

HELP.....I'm not following the question..........what do you mean?

What's soul sleep got to do with Judgment?

The Righteous will not see the Wrath of God. :24:

Peace,

Dave

Sorry, tired this morning. It goes back to the idea of going straight to heaven. How do you get in heaven without being judged? Or, does 'going to be with the Lord' mean something other than going to heaven?

Let us all seek earnestly for the truth.

There seems to be two trains of thought for this subject and that is that when a Christian dies, he goes directly to be with the Lord. The other thought is that we sleep until the resurection. The old testament tells us that those that sleep know nothing.

So I put it to everyone that to the Christian who dies, he/whe would know difference between the two. If the "soul sleep" is actually true, the person who dies will not know the difference, so why should we get all worked up about it.

Truly, it doesn't matter.

That is exactly the way that I believe and look at it, too. When you're a Christian and you die, the next thing you know you are with the Lord. There will be no concept of time having passed, so it is instantaneous to the dead.

Everything spoken out about this subject, with no scriptural backing, is just how one views death. There is not one person who can come back to tell us which is correct, so scripture is our only measuring stick.

If we are with the Lord the same second we pass, Great!! If we "sleep"' and know no difference until we are with the Lord, Great!! What really matters is that we are with the Lord and will return when He returns, as scripture tells us.

Either way, we will not suffer His wrath. Praise the Lord!

Personally, I know that when I die, the next thing I will see is Him. That is all that matters to me.

Be at peace with one another.

God Bless,

Alan

Someone asked what my idea was.

I believe, based on scripture, that when a Christian, or any person, dies, that they are dead, they know nothing. They will sleep until the Lord Jesus returns and then the dead in Christ shall rise, followed by the living believers, to be taken up and to be judged, and on that day some will face the second death, and some will be rewarded with immortality.

this is also what i believe, based on scripture.

Wow. I just had this discussion with my pastor yesterday. I was under the impression that everybody dead was asleep until judgment day but he said otherwise. He said that everyone is immediately judged upon death and that on judgment day the people in heaven get their new bodies back. He said that judgment day is really only for those left on earth at the time. Not sure which scriptures he was referring to.

That is quite an interesting interpretation of scripture asecretchord.

I have a few questions along that line.

1) On Judgement Day people 'in heaven get their new bodies back'. Do you mean to say that they receive their new bodies? Also, the scripture says that 'the dead in christ will rise first, some to life, and some to damnation.....so, how does that square?

2) Again, along the same lines, if Judgement Day is only for those left on earth, how does that square with the scripture I've noted above?

I understand that your pastor is an adherent to the doctrine of Particular Judgement, but what scripture is that based on?

Good talking with you.................To The King!

His Name Is Jesus

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:1

And God's Kids

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Romans 8:14-15

Are Welcomed Home

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Romans 8:16-17

Shame!

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

Revelation 12:10

You Sir Twist Scripture

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:1

The Saints Get Their Resurrected Bodies

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Revelation 20:5-6

One Thousand Years Later The Unbelievers Get Their Resurrected Bodies And The Wrath Of God

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 20:13-15

Believe

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

John 11:25

Or Not, It's Your Choice

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

John 3:36

But Do Not Attack The Faith Of God's Kids

And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

Mark 9:42

Their Daddy Watches Over Them

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
