what i see is a herd mentality in ALOT of the church. oh well the pastor said it it has to be true or the pastor is pastor and he cant do wrong. well thats contrary to the Gospel. he is a man. the bible says trust NO MAN. the bible says to trust in the Lord. whatever you read or hear take it to the scriptures. take it to prayer. ask God to show you truth.

this herd mentality will be what could cause "a great falling away in the last days" as the bible talks about. do not just go with the flow. IF YOU CURSE THE PART YOU CURSE THE WHOLE. if you take in a lie and trust it to be truth you have just infected your own soul will iniquity. the bible says to seek God not trust man.

I agree you can not just believe the pastor. Look at all this emotion filled angel worshiping revivals, people following the teachings of angels and man. This should not be.

Yes, we are to compare everything the pastor and preacher says with the Word. Certainly every man of God that I have heard preach has commanded us to compare what he says to the Word! While it is true that there will be a great falling away, I don't believe that we must have our doctrine 100% correct to be saved.

that is why we need to be in the Word DAILY... so we know what is right and what is wrong.....

I have heard pastors say... OH, You do not need to read that, I will tell you what it says.....

on the contrary... WE NEED TO VERIFY EVERYTHNG THE PASTORS ARE SAYING....

1. to keep ourselves on track

2. to help keep the pastor accountable, after all, he is a only a man, and also subject to making errors....(becareful about the way you approach the pastor with something that is thought to be in error, do it in love, and for clarification.... it might only have been a slip of the tongue, but it maystill need to be brought up...

3. it can also reinforce the lessons by hearing it, reading it and discussing it again....

I recall one time, during the sermon, the pastor was speaking on an issue/lesson , during the sermon, the pastor spoke about an apple tree that whad no fruit on it even though it was not the season for it........ when he said APPLE, my mind was so set on that that I missed the full jist of the lesson..... I knew it was a FIG tree that was in the Word, but my mind was so set on "Being Right" I lost out on the blessing that was in the lesson.... I spent time looking up the verses that said FIG TREE..... instead of listening to the rest and taking notes.....

later, I did approach him later to discuss this, not to tell him that he messed up, but that I messed up, that I was apologizing for allowing myself to be disrespectful towards him and God for not paying attention..... I did tell him what he said after that and he just busted up laughing, he did not realize he had said APPLE TREE.....

I am glad we were friends.... he thanked me for telling him, but I was the only one that he knew of that heard the slip..

I still take notes, and I still write down all......ALL ....the scriptures given, and even those that are spoke of and not "used" as a quote or reading....

I still check out things that are talked of during the sermons and other lessons...... some times this takes a lot of time, other times it does not....

In some congregations, the itching ears of the flock like the false doctrines they hear:

"... For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." (2Ti 4:3-4)

It's not just a herd mentality. It's a "I want the Word of God to say what I want it to say" mentality.

When I was a new Christian, the very first thing my Christian friend (the one who shared to me) told me was that I should never focus on the pastor, but I must always focus on the Word. Pastors are humans and they make mistakes too.

I think that's one of the best things she told me, and has helped me a lot. Pastors have come and gone in the church I used to go to and for various reasons, some of them unpleasant.

But one thing has remained true, and that is God's Word.

Blessings...South

This is correct. Just because 'so and so' says it, or this seminary has taught doctrine X for hundreds of years, or Paster Yadda-yadda's book says it DOESN'T MAKE IT TRUE.

We are in the apostasy predicted by Paul in II Thess 2 and you can watch one denomination after another fall. Most recently was the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) which now allows 'under special circumstances' (yeah, right) the ordination of homosexuals in committed life-long relationships. (Be right back, I'm gonna go throw up.)

Churches of varying stripes now teach 'tolerance', the Magogian word meaning 'you will do what we say when we say it and encourage and allow us to practice our filth or we will demonize and persecute you in the media as intolerant and unloving.' Don't be surprised, it's going to get worse. The Church is becoming like Lot. Lot didn't like what was going on, but he had lived amongst it for so long that he had become used to it and accepted it as part of the culture.

The War of Gog and Magog is largely ideological and spiritual. The army of Gog is not armed with guns and tanks and planes so that we see them obviously, they're sneaky and devious. They're in your legislatures, your schools, the White House, the UN, the media, the colleges and universities, the CHRISTIAN seminaries and they've been turning the water temperature up on us frogs in the pot for years now. Meanwhile, our own ministers have been educated in their seminaries as well, buying their theological lies and feeding them to us.

What are some of them?

1. Don't judge: Jesus never said that. He said don't judge unless you are willing to be judged by the same criteria you use to judge. Paul tells us that we ARE to judge those inside the Church.

2. This world belongs to Satan: This lie has been the big battering ram which Gog has used to get the Church to abrogate its responsibility in the world If this is Satan's world then why did Jesus say "All authority in heaven and earth is given unto ME." Is Jesus Satan? Obviously not. Even when the nations were being blinded by Satan, it was NOT his world . The Scriptures clearly state: "The earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof, the world and all who dwell therein." God never gave jack-spit to the devil. Not after Adam sinned and never at anytime.

3. Be like Jesus, meek and mild: Oh boy, you need a supersised shovel for this one. Jesus was meek and mild at times, but He was also passionate and manly at times as well. The same Jesus who bounced little kids on his knees bounced moneychangers out of the Temple on their rear ends, chasing them with a whip which HE MADE. The same Jesus who cried over Jerusalem stared down Pharisees and told them "Your house is left to you desolate." The same Jesus who laughed and jested with his friends rebuked them for their wrongs. He even put his mother in her proper place at Cana. Would to God that we were more like Him as He really was.

4. Jesus loved everybody: Well if you think He loved the Pharisees, you have another thought coming. They were the primary destroyers of Israel. He couldn't stand them. They were opposed to His Father, opposed to everything He stood for, they twisted the Scripture to their own ends and He chewed them a new one every chance He got. He knew their hearts. To Him, they were sons of the Devil. "You are of your father the devil..." Yup, sounds like love to me.

5. The gifts of the Spirit have passed away: They WILL pass away, when that which is perfect comes. In other words, at the Second Coming, when the restoration of all things takes place. We will not need them then. We DO need them now.

6. Sensationalism gooood: Bark like a dog. Howl like a wolf. Babble in some unintelligible 'language'. Cast out 'demons of smoking' and so forth. Make people barf up demons into buckets. Whatever brings in the crowd...and the cash.

7. Politics baaaaad: This goes along with #2 above. If you are led to think this is Satan's world, then you shouldn't be involved in the way things are run. Why work for Satan. It's OK to complain about it though when the heathen are running your country into the ground and legislating laws against Christianity and hauling your fellow Believers off to jail. Early Believers didn't think like that. They affected society for Christ with godly laws, put godly men into office who were above reproach and they RULED.

These are just a few of the lies we've swallowed over time. Beware of them...

Very good reminder, I'd say :noidea:

The fact tha multitudes of Christians and evangelical churches belonging to various denominations are becomming partners with the United Nations and its global agenda concerning the environment and climate movement shows how far these Christians have moved away from biblical teachings and prophecies. It wasn't long ago, these same evangelical churches understood that the UN would play a major role in helping to create the A/C global government system. Today, most evangelicals, some on this board don't know end time prophetic happenings today, and scoff at them, so how can they begin to understand that the UN and their church is fulfilling them?

Yep, the great apostasy that the Apostle Paul wrote about in

II Thessalonians 3 is already here, I believe.

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of peridition...

Paul is talking about the Day of the Lord and the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in this passage, as the preceeding passages shows, and that Day is very near as the falling away is already upon us.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
