The two conditions I mentioned were "believe" and "confess." The other, baptism, I stated was givn as "the one act that signifies a transferred life."

Whew! You had me worried there for a moment. :o

It's interesting to note that using God's Words out of context has been a tool of satan from as far back as the Garden of Eden. He tempted Eve with a twist of God's word and has been doing it ever since to promote his agenda.

:o I have to admit that that one was a little tricky to word without a misunderstanding taking place. For the record, no, I do not believe in baptismal regeneration.

I agree Ted. So many scriptures have been taken out of context it would be hard to pick just one or two of them.

Oh, how simple the life of an admin must be. Bet that head lays down nice and still like on that pillow at night, hehe. :t2:

I think some of the most common ways in which verses are taken out of context have to do with what has become known as 'Replacement Theology'...this is where Christians down through the ages have mis-appropriated specific promises given to Abraham and the Jewish people and applied them to themselves believing that both Israel and the Jews no longer have a destiny in the will of G-d...and that because of the Jews rejection of Yeshua G-d has rejected them forever.

Perhaps the most widely used Scripture to endorse this viewpoint is...

Romans 2:28  For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that outwardly in flesh;

Rom 2:29  but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart; in spirit and not in letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God.

...and it therefore follows that because true Jews are actually Christians...then all G-ds promises to the Jewish people are really to the Christians.

To my mind this is perhaps the single most widespread misunderstanding within the Body of Christ worldwide and is deeply rooted across denominations from the most conservative to the most charasmatic.  It could possibly be one of the reasons that many Western Churches evidence relatively little of the true power of the Holy Ghost.

Amen Botz....this is the one most misunderstood verse imo too.....This is ALWAYS taken out of context because they dont' read the very next verse....

We should not make any kind of artificial separation between this verse and the very next one (Romans 3:1)

Let's look at the context

ROMANS 2:23 You who boast in the Law, through your breaking the Law, do you dishonor God? (WHO BOASTS IN THE LAW? IS HE SPEAKING TO GENTILES?)

25 For indeed circumcision is of value if you practice the Law; but if you are a transgressor of the Law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. (WHO HAS CIRCUMCISION?)

28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh.

29 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God. (WHO IS THE CIRCUMCISION HERE? IT CAN ONLY BE JEWS THAT PAUL IS TALKING TO)

ROMANS 3:1

Then what advantage has the Jew? Or what is the benefit of circumcision? (IF THERE WAS EVER ANY DOUBT, THIS VERSE SHOULD PROVE THAT GENTILES DON'T BECOME JEWISH BY VIRTUE OF BEING BORN AGAIN. PAUL IS SPEAKING TO THE CIRCUMCISION....THE JEWS!)

2 Great in every respect. First of all, that they were entrusted with the oracles of God. (WHICH ORACLES OF GOD DID WE GET FROM GENTILES?)

3 What then? If some did not believe, their unbelief will not nullify the faithfulness of God, will it?

4 May it never be!

AMEN!

After reading all of the posts I will only quote this:

Revelation 22:18-19 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book; if anyone adds to them, God shall add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.

Thus says MY LORD

Christians want to take what Jesus said the the PHARISEES and apply to all Jewish people, and that is just flat wrong.

Anyone who rejects CHRIST is an ANTI-CHRIST. This is just plain truth.

1Jo 2:18

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

1Jo 2:22

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1Jo 4:3

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

2Jo 1:7

For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

My Question is. Why would you want to be yolked with them? Knowing what the scriptural judgement is of those who trample the blood of the LAMB underfoot.

Theology doesn't mean anything to me. I LOVE the LORD JESUS CHRIST and HIS truth.

In CHRIST JESUS

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
