While, in theory, they march around it throwing pebbles to scare satan (well, I don't really know, I'm guessing), why would all muslims who are able be required to make a pilgrimage to the Hajj in their lifetime, knowing that satan was there? This director was smart to not destroy the thing in the movie....he would be a marked man. The devil doesn't take kindly to being marginalized.
