i think your SIL is incorrect. a medical doctor would tell you the answer to your question.

thing is, so many things can interfere with the pill's reliability anyway. if you're sick, it can interfere. if you're overweight, it can interfere. if you're on antibiotics, it can interfere. the pill is SUPPOSED to prevent ovulation... but with so many possible interferences, it really is a crap shoot. there are far more reliable forms of birth control. depo privera shots work very well, they prevent ovulation, but they do have some side effects.... like the fact that it has a tendency to inhibit the desire for sex in some women.... and if you had that side effect, your new husband might be disappointed!

Yes he definately would be disappointed! Thanks though, I'll look in to it  Is it the kind of thing you can try and then if it doesn't suit you, you can stop?

I am always quite sick, so the Pill probably wouldn't be very reliable for me anyway I guess!

Thanks

Right - I thought that all pills had the chance of aborting though?

My SIL said that the doctors here won't tell you it's abortive even if it is... So I'm not sure if talking to my GP would help..

Thanks for helping!

Is your SIL a medical professional? In my experience, doctors have told me the possible side effects of all medication I took - I do not know why they would do otherwise.

Nope she's definately not a professional! Maybe I will have to have a chat with the doctor.

yes, you can stop if you don't like it. ok here's the scoop. it's not reliable til 30 days after you've gotten the shot (just like the pill). and each shot is good for three months. now i don't know when you're getting married, but this might be perfect... you could get the shot and you'll KNOW before the wedding whether or not it's going to decrease your desire, and you can just simply not get the next shot if you think it's going to be a problem.

Hi everyone,

I am getting married soon, but my sister in law recently told me that "the pill" can abort babies! Is this true? What are ya'll thoughts on the matter?

Yes, using the pill has many side affects one of those effects are the pill causes miscarriages, abort or abortion all are the same.

I personally do not use birth control as I can't have children. I do not find fault in those who use the "pill" or other forms of contraceptives for that decision is their's alone to make.

I think that those who have started using contraceptives did so without getting the proper information on what side affects are both the pro's and con's

There is a lady who lives in the same town as I do. She is head of the right to life and she has told her story many times over. She had used birth control pills and while using them over time she had lost five children. When she found out what had happened she became remoresful. Being sorrowful she remained guilt ridden at the same time losing the five children from the use of birth control pills. Five children were adopted by her taking the place of the five children that was lost due to the use of birth control pills and she is raising them now.

OC, i really don't understand. how did she find out she'd lost five babies while on the pill, as a result of the pill? because what causes it to be considered an "abortificant" is that if an egg becomes fertilized, it is prevented from implanting to the uterus and is expelled. this would all happen within a few days of intercourse and have a normal period. if she was far enough along that she was aware she'd miscarried, then the miscarriage was NOT a result of the pill.

Hi Lady C.

This lady found out by her doctor of these facts. As far as I'm concerned I do not know how it happened. I just have her testimony to go by. I do know that the pill can cause miscarriages and abortion if you read up on the pill mostly the first thing you will see is that the pill can cause miscariages, abort or abortion. I do not under estimate the side affects of the pill the very fact that these are made known to the public in the form of a warning says, alot.

I am not a mother never have been so birth control has never been an issue with

me so I am kind of in the dark on that side of things but the women does testify to those things already spoken of.

yes, it can cause miscarriage, (i.e. spontaneous abortion). thing is, you don't know you're pregnant when you miscarry from the pill. people who know they are pregnant do not continue taking the pill, so the pill would not cause a miscarriage later in the pregnancy. and once you stop taking the pill, any future pregnancies are unaffected by your prior use of the pill.

my heart goes out to the woman who had five miscarriages, and what a blessing that she adopted five children later! i suspect though, that she's needlessly blaming herself for miscarriages that she could not have prevented. she probably misunderstood the information given to her.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
