Because it is the only instance we disregard it?

No, we don't make a doctrine out of it.

God can and does use whatever He chooses for His glory.

And He has told us how He will do that.

1Co 1:21  For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

You are discounting the message of the movie because of it's messenger (throwing the baby out with the bath water so to speak).

Please no clechets(sic). Since I pointed out that the Spirit of God works in His children and the spirit of this world works in the rest only that which the Spirit of God does will be of any good. I believe Satan was behind this movie to deceive more people, preparing them for the one world religion.

And those "subtle" differences are....?

Did you go to the link and read the whole article?

Can you enlighten me where this movie contradicts Scripture specifically? And please refrain from giving me some link to some article...tell me in your own words based on your own observation please. Oh, and don't forget the Scriptures that the movie supposedly contradicts. Thanks.

I doesn't appear that you really want the truth. I gave one link, there are hundreds more.

Heb 11:6  But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Again, please provide evidence for this statement.

Go to the link it has references.

This is all opinion based on speculation about the intent of the movie.

I won't confuse you withany more facts then. I have continued to use scripture to back up what I believe. I'll stick with the scripture, it won't ever let me down. It is sharper than any two edged sword.

I think however bad some of us might have felt the film was...it cannot get away from the historical impact that the Father sent the Son to die for our sins...this is the overall message...and this is what brings a person to repentance...not some counterfeit Hollywood Jesus...but a personal encounter with the Living G-d initiated through an imperfect film. Personally I found 'Ben Hur' much more poignant and that was full of inaccuracies and sentimentality.

If the film had been made by a practising Jehovah's Witness and people had turned to Jesus...even though there were elements of the cults teaching throughout the film...would we still be so eager to commend it...because the intent would have been for people to acknowledge Watchtower...and the spirit behind it would most definately have been anti-Christ!

1Peter 5:8 Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

In these days it is an absolute necessity to test things through the discernment of the Holy Ghost and the guidance of the Scriptures...never before has the media played such a large part in battling for the hearts and minds of people on a global scale...and it is presenting some quite baffling messages...most of which stem from the Christian broardcasting channels...again I wonder how these compare to the film on discussion.

1John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

Sometimes I think we all have a tendency to want to make THE post, THE statement, point out THE truth. There is such an element of pride here. And I know I'm just as guilty. Take pride away and what do you have? God's children playing with the truth....

No, we don't make a doctrine out of it.

Where was I making a doctrine out of it? I was using it as an example. You have failed to show how The Passion movie is doctrinally wrong.

And He has told us how He will do that.

Yes, He uses us. In fact, the Scripture you post only strengthens my point..but let me post the rest of that chapter which you conveniently left out:

"Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since the wisdom of God the world through it's wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumblingblock to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than mans's strength. Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influencial; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things - and the things that are not - to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God - that is our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: Let him who boastas boast in the Lord." 1 Cor. 1:20-31

These verses strongly support what I've been saying above. God uses us in spite of ourselves for His glory. If you're going to quote Scripture, please use it in context. Read the entire chapter of 1 Corinthians 1 and you will clearly see the message is that it is God's power that works through us to communicate His message, it's not any power or wisdom of our own.

Since I pointed out that the Spirit of God works in His children and the spirit of this world works in the rest only that which the Spirit of God does will be of any good. I believe Satan was behind this movie to deceive more people, preparing them for the one world religion.

Still waiting on evidence to support your claims (in your own words).

Did you go to the link and read the whole article?

No, I prefer to have discussions with people as opposed to read links to articles. If you can't defend what you believe in your own words then why enter a discussion?

I doesn't appear that you really want the truth.

It doesn't appear you actually know the truth or else you would patiently enlighten me. I keep asking for evidence, you keep avoiding answering fully.

I gave one link, there are hundreds more.

*sigh* The internet is saturated with hundreds upon hundreds of websites to criticize anything under the sun. The fact that you can provide hundreds of links means nothing. I'm not going to read a bunch of links. Either you can respond to my questions directly or dodge my inquiries if you are unable to communicate your own thoughts.

Go to the link it has references.

Oi...you really are a fan of that link aren't you? Too bad you aren't equally excited about expressing your own thoughts and using God's word. You just keep repeating yourself or posting things out of context. I'm beginning to believe you're just unable to respond coherently otherwise you would've backed up your claims with sufficient and strong evidence. If you believe so strongly in this, why are you not able to just respond to me directly without quoting someone else's article?

I won't confuse you withany more facts then.

The only thing which has confused me is your inability to support your own claims.

I have continued to use scripture to back up what I believe.

You have? You've yet to show how the movie is biblically unsound.

I'll stick with the scripture, it won't ever let me down. It is sharper than any two edged sword.

But it can also be distorted and used irresponsibly (as you have also shown).

btw...does the criticisms of this movie remind anyone else of how the Pharisees criticized Christ for healing on the Sabbath, fellowshipping with "sinners", etc.?

Let's not forget that it was the Pharisees who always questioned Jesus' methods and ways. And we know what Christ thought of the Pharisees.

To the people that criticize the movie and think that it is of satan, think of this Scripture

Mat 12:26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

That movie is the tool, the instrument, that has inspired thousands to SEEK GOD...That point should be obvious to all and a mute point for discussion....

The Passion portrays a different Jesus. Though subtle, it is a different Jesus. The spirit that is behind this movie is not the Holy Spirit but a different spirit.

larry, this statement borders on the ridiculous. The Passion play is presented in almost every Christian church, in one form or another, during Easter.

It doesn't matter if it's a church, religious gathering, movie, etc. all trying to recreate an event that occured 2000 years ago as a visual representation of the scriptures.

No man, organization or church is perfect as you imply they should be.

Your point that the Passion play should portray the "real" Jesus is an impossibility except to yourself, because if only you created a Passion play for yourself that was centered on your interpretation, then you would think it absolutely fit scripture.

But since other Christians are in control of how the Passion play is represented, I'm sure, you'll manage to find some fault, however small or great with each one of them.

The point is, this visual representation is a means, a tool, that the Holy Spirit can use to rekindle Christians passion for Christ and HIS mission and purpose here on earth, not to mention, as Jesus stated, "to pass the scriptures to the unsaved."

Sorry Larryt the Scriptural dueling is not carrying any weight. Anybody can take a

Scripture and make it say what you want. That is not proving anything. Mel Gibson did say in an interview I saw, that he is Born Again and he definitely believes the Holy Spirit guided him throughout the movie because he ASKED for his guidance. I don't know where you are getting your info from but this was directly from the man himself. Judge not lest you be judged my friend!

What gives you the right to say someone isn't saved or pretend to know his heart. What if I said the same about you, having never met you before but just making a blanket judgment. Good grief you can't do that. We went all through this topic back when the movie first came out maybe you should go back in the archives here and read what was said then.

Bottom line---the movie changed peoples lives, people made decisions for Christ, others re-committed their lives. Mel spent 9 years putting this movie together, he was ostracized from the Hollywood community, but he stood by his convictions and pushed forward. Did you ever for one minute consider that the reason so many things happened on the set was because Satan DIDN'T WANT THE MOVIE MADE BECAUSE OF THE IMPACT IT WOULD MAKE! If Satan was in charge of the movie as you say then everything would of been hunky dory and there would of been no problems.

Satan did not want this movie made because it glorifies Christ and His sacrifice for us. And how do you know Satan wasn't watching while Christ was being Crucified don't you think he would be doing his happy dance because finally this thorn in his side was actually going to die and get out of his hair. Of course Satan was lurking at the Crucification. He would want to see what he started come to an end.

How shocked he must of been when Jesus rose again! Fooled ya buddy start counting your days because they're numbered. I saw that movie and it moved me like nothing else I have ever seen or heard of before. I will never look at the sacrament of Communion the same way again, it has more meaning now. I definitely intend to buy this movie and watch it again by myself.

If you have seen the movie then you went with a critical spirit in the first place wanting to discredit it no matter what. And if you haven't seen it then you are not really qualified to discuss it. The two ministers of my church both refused to see it and that made me and alot of others angry, because if people in their congregation happened to have questions concerning the movie they couldn't counsel anyone on what they had seen. The senior ministers excuse was "I don't like Mel Gibson" how weak is that, especially since he wasn't even in the movie.

Anyone can go on-line and find opinions and countless articles to support their view point on this movie, that is weak it doesn't hold water with me. Now that it is out on DVD/Video it will continue to touch thousands more people, alot of churches are going to be holding screenings in their churches. God is working through this movie, His Holy Spirit is working through this movie. And if you can HONESTLY say after watching it through that it didn't move you then went to it in the wrong frame of mind to begin with.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
