If you can show me how the Holy Spirit can work in a person, from the scriptures, who is depending on works and sacraments for salvation, the means will be justified.  Those who justify the means by the end have no standing.  The bible says

Ro 10:17  So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The bible also says

2Ti 4:3  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

We all need to be praying for a powerful renewal within the body of Christ that focuses on establishing and preparing disciples to carry out the commission that the Lord has called us to do. No, we don't make a doctrine out of it.

Where was I making a doctrine out of it? I was using it as an example. You have failed to show how The Passion movie is doctrinally wrong.

And He has told us how He will do that.

Yes, He uses us. In fact, the Scripture you post only strengthens my point..but let me post the rest of that chapter which you conveniently left out:

"Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since the wisdom of God the world through it's wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumblingblock to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than mans's strength. Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influencial; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things - and the things that are not - to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. These verses strongly support what I've been saying above. God uses us in spite of ourselves for His glory. If you're going to quote Scripture, please use it in context. Read the entire chapter of 1 Corinthians 1 and you will clearly see the message is that it is God's power that works through us to communicate His message, it's not any power or wisdom of our own.

Since I pointed out that the Spirit of God works in His children and the spirit of this world works in the rest only that which the Spirit of God does will be of any good. I believe Satan was behind this movie to deceive more people, preparing them for the one world religion.

Tess...You are the one making the accusations against the movie and telling me it is biblically wrong..therefore it is your responsibility to offer proof to back up your claims.

Pardon me for jumping in ahead of larryt...it is quite an interesting discussion.

Surely most people realize that it is biblically inept and interwoven with doctrines and imagery that comes from the writings of two Roman Catholic mystics..and that it is an evangelical message of Roman Catholicism doctrine...Mel himself using cinema as a means of promoting his beliefs.

Of course the bones of it are biblical...we are talking of a period in History covering just a few hours....but much of the flesh that has been added has its roots in extrabiblical speculation/mysticism that goes further than promoting the undiluted message of the Gospel.

To be fair there are many Hollywood Biblical films that are more fantasy than accuracy...and yet enjoyable in their own way. What makes this different is that it is meant to be an historically accurate depiction that is rooted in the word of G-d and therefore it has an insidious influence upon millions of movie goers and paves the way for unscriptual teachings.

Like I said before..great that people have come to know Messiah because miraculously the Holy Ghost has caused people to seek G-d through the influence of the movie...but is the gospel fragment that it is preaching really the same that is contained in the word of G-d...and if not should we be endorsing and promoting inaccuracy!
