Maybe....it could also be that you are just like the rest of us, and have seasons where we need to stand back from things and take a look at ourselves and what we are doing, and what is it we think is expected of us by God/the Church/ourselves...sometimes this means getting off the tread-mill of our usual routine and having a period of re-assessing/re-dedication/re-commitment. None of us can survive satisfactorily if we have an unclear vision from a personal view, and from the Churches view...and perhaps this has grown a bit dim.

Its good that you feel free to share with us on Worthy, something of your personal struggles...but I am sure you are aware it will help more to be upfront and open with a friend at home, and if you think it necessary, to explain some of your difficulty to a trusted friend in leadership at your Church. Just a few ideas that buzzed around my head when I read your thread dear Sis. In Messiah. Botz

Thanks Botz -

well I have shared it with a Christian woman who is very close to me and she and her husband are just now slowly getting back into the "Church scene" after a few years away.....and they were once heavily into church ministry....

I have identified that at this time in my life, my main ministries are at home (kids and their friends), my siblings and their families as well as my workplace (I am dealing with many Muslims on a daily basis)....with my tithe money I give to where and whom I feel led to give to...

I completely enjoy my Bible study and devotion times but hey you know, being part of the Body does not mean being an island! LOL....

Hopefully one day soon...... :emot-hug:

Blessings HisGirl, I read all the other replies, up to this point, I've had to stop and start, so you may have sloved this by the time I post. Remember this is dealing with only one of you quotes. I love you sister.

One of Satan tricks is to get us to stop going to church, for whatever reason. I've been in the same position, different event. What he does is get you to slack a sunday, another, then they start back -back, always having a reason not to go. When it becomes a habit, you may never return.

Habits are easy to pick up, but very hard to break.

God's warms us in Heb 10:25- to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as the matter of some is, but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

I'm starting to hear this...churches glorifying man more than God, a bit these days.

The Church is You. Are you glorifying the man? Your weight in gold, is what's important concerning this matter.

Ask yourself some questions: Is your pastor feeding the word of God to the Church and importantly you?

Are souls being added to the mist? Does his life style reflect a man of God? Does he bear the fruits of the spirit?

How's the church servicing- Outreach, mission fields, etc etc?

If your Pastor has not fed into the glorifying, and is standing in as mouth piece for God..then what may the problem be? We must be very sure of the things we see.

God word says touch not mine anointed nor do my prophet no any harm. 1 Chronicles 16:22.

If you are seeing this, your claim has to be lined up with the Judge (God), the lawyer (Jesus) and the jury (the Holy Ghost).

There's never going to be a perfect church with perfect people, but there can be a place where people who wants to be equit to do the work of God.

Now, if he is allowing himself to be build up and accepting this false promotion, try talking to him. If he won't, the balls in your court. You can stay and pray/pray and ask God to lead you to another church. Whatever the fact maybe, I know you will keep your eyes on the prize.

My pastors and I have a wonderful relationship. If I have a question, their door is always open to me.

Now I must go into the kichen and take a tablespoon of what I just said.

In Christ...jot :emot-hug:

Thank goodness for wise women of God on this Board...thankyou Jot. :emot-hug::wub:

You are right about the enemy and his filthy tricks.

Anything to drive a wedge between us and our first love!!

And I was thinking my feelings were midlife crisis!! :emot-hug:

I'm not sure if I'm in a desert at the moment but I feel reluctant to attend Church at this present time...I mean "Church services" in general....

I really don't like this feeling... :emot-hug:

take a small break from service and just read on your own.

That's what I have been doing - But I feel there is danger if left too long...a little what Jotful has mentioned....

Hey 'HIS girl', It is always hard when we go through dry places and we have such a hunger and thirst for righteousness. We can have it so bad on the inside that it feels like we are going through a desert where food and water are scarce and sometimes there is none at all and we must look to God and cry out to him about your situation. And HIS girl the Lord will call us away sometimes for a while as the Lord want you and Him to walk alone.

(Matthew 5:6--Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled)

(John 4:13-15--Jesus answered and said unto her. Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:) vs 14) But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. vs 15) The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.)

(John 6:35--And Jesus said unto them I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger: and he that believeth on me shall shall never thirst )

(John 7:37--In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.) :emot-hug:

Don't tire of this place but be encouraged;

(James 1:2-3--My brethren, count it all, joy when ye fall into divers temptations; vs 3) Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience)

I don't know about you but I never counted my trials and temptations to be joyous but just the opposite about them. But in the Lord the devil who tempts us and brings trials and temptations into our lives to break our faith in God but if we stand true and endure when our fath is being tried. That's why we can count it all joy because our faith in God will bring us through our trials and temptations and our faith will be stronger in the Lord.

I also believe that having this knowledge our faith, being stronger in the Lord will get us through the tempations and trials a lot sooner if our faith is weak. We can literally rejoice counting it all joy in tough times because we know when Satan comes he want be able to steal our faith in God knowing our faith is being tried which brings praises to God.

Blessings

A spring chicken compared to me then  His girl, we all go through it! last year i "took a break" for about 5 months! Then something started happening. I felt sort of uneasy. And I started going again. I threw myself into church life, and started making myself useful wherever I could. It's good now. i like going to church, and even feel an anticipation every Sunday.

Hang in there, this too will pass.

Well we can never have enough wisdom on the boards... :emot-hug: (grey hair is a "crown"?!!) LOL..

I understand those that "have a break" from Church but I'm worried that I'm disliking the "Western style" of 'doing' Church to the point that I may not find a more simple, toned down group of believers near me that I can get together with.

As I mentioned earlier on, home Churches are fantastic but there have been times when there is a bit of a tussle for "leadership" and 'services' evolve into opinion based teachings.

Then something started happening. I felt sort of uneasy.

I get that.

I do not want a heart of stone toward Western church and it's style - I don't want it to be about MAN but God.

And I started going again. I threw myself into church life, and started making myself useful wherever I could. It's good now. i like going to church, and even feel an anticipation every Sunday.

It's like events at work have somewhat overtaken my "Church life"...in the way that many spiritual issues have been going on and I have been dealing with that - The Lord has been using me as a 'go between' for Muslim folks that I am in contact with during the week and the non Christians I work with.

It has been pretty heavy going - spiritual attacks etc..

I won't budge on my faith though. Without Christ I am absolutley NOTHING.

I will head on down to Church tomorrow.

One could be cliche and say that CHRIST didnt feel like dying that day but then again I dont feel like going to Church sometimes either. And I am a Preacher! :emot-hug:

The solution may be that we have to rely on HIM for strength. Once you give the flesh an inch it will take a mile as the saying goes.

See it's not just the "fleshly" feeling of not wanting to go but having attended the service and feeling that Sripture was not presented as it should be and missed the mark.

And then feeling worried at the thought of how many Churches out there are preaching doctrines of men rather than the true Word of God.

You know, the Bible according to Joe Blow and not the Bible according to God......

Anyway I am going to Church tomorrow and I will leave my hardened heart at the door!! LOL (joke)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
