Just a question, not really wanting to debate, just wondering?

Who is Judah, within the context of the prophets?  Is Judah significant of anything happening today?  Or do you think it was only pertaining to prophecies of the particular time, of say Jeremiah?  Or could it be significant today?  I am particularly interested in the prophecies of Jeremiah and Ezekiel, although there are many references within the minor prophets as well.

In His Love,

Suzanne

Dear Karen,

Thank you so much for posting that article.  I did find it interesting and read through it thoroughly.  I'm afraid it's not quite addressing my question though.  And I realize I was not clear.  What I am specifically referring to, is the symbolism of Judah (as a nation), specifically in terms of the prophetic Scriptures speaking of judgement against it, along with Israel.

There is a difference between Judah, and the Lion of Judah, although the basis of my question does lie in the fact that I do understand Who the Lion of Judah is, and the lineage is in connection with my question, so to speak.  That is why I ask, who is the nation of Judah now?

Let me know if you've come across anything else! I'd love to see it.   Thanks!

In His Love,

Suzanne

Dear One,

I don't want to mislead anyone, I have my leadings as to who I think they are in Scripture, but I don't think anyone else has the same conclusion.  I guess I am fishing here, but I do, truly want to know what others think about this issue, and I am curious.

Do you have revelations on it?  Just wondering, as I am not prone to share my thoughts right now, I am strictly looking to see if anyone else has studied this, and cares to share on it.

Sorry, I am just looking for more information and guidance here.

In His Love,

Suzanne

Judah

Jews have long been called "The Chosen People." The term is actually quite accurate, but chosen for what, and why?

Beginning with Abraham, we read, "and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed because you have obeyed Me." (Genesis 22:18) Abraham was most certainly a righteous man. He had been tested and proven worthy of that description. But did God speak to him that way because Abraham was somehow so good that God owed him something? Or, was Abraham the very best available choice for fulfilling a role in a process that had been set in motion long before? Was Abraham "the best man for the job"?

The promise continued through Abraham's son Isaac, and then through Isaac's son Jacob. With Jacob the process accelerated and expanded. God changed Jacob's name to Israel (Genesis 32:22-28), and from his 12 sons began the 12 tribes of Israel, the Israelites.

Among Israel's 12 sons was Judah. From his name, his descendants became known as Jews. Abraham was not a Jew. Isaac was not a Jew. Judah's 11 brothers were not Jews. They were all Israelites, but only Judah's children and descendants, right to this day, are actually qualified to be called Jews. It's more than identifying a correct name, it's a matter of identifying the correct line.

All of Israel's 12 tribes would eventually have a great effect upon the world, 11 of them through exploration, wealth, and industry (especially Ephraim and Manasseh, the sons of Israel's son Joseph), and 1, Judah, the Jews, the selected line through which a Savior would be born -

"The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until He comes to Whom it belongs, and the obedience of the nations is His." (Genesis 49:10)

Do you know the Lion of Juday??  His name is Jesus!!!!!!!

Hello Suzanne,

Judah is referring to the tribe of Judah who is modern day the Jewish people.  If you recall the tribes of the north went into apostasy thus leaving just the tribe of Judah and Benjamin to the south.  Modern day Jews come mostly from the tribe of Judah, but also come from the tribes of Levi and Benjamin.

Just a tidbit of information that you might find interesting about some of the tribes of Israel.

Well Tigershark,

Surprise, surprise, you have come across the very same things I have.

Question then concerning Jews and who is who.  The end to Zach makes a clear destinction between the "House of David", and the "tribe of Judah".  Why would Zach make the destinction in his time??  David is from Judah, correct or no?  Why will the man and women named as the "House of David" as various tribes under the "House of David" morn for the "one they pierced" but there is no mention of Judah morning?  just being a fire pot among the attackers?

Zech. 12:2 to be precise.

How about Ps. 78:68,

Jer. 31:33 - why in addressing both Israel and Judah in the chapter, this particular part speaks only of Israel.  I think it is because it has already been put in Judah's heart.  I believe Judah is the picture of the current day Christians.  Christ is from the line of Judah right?

Jer. 33:24  2 kingdoms God chose?  Who else could those 2 be?  Jewish and Christians?

I also notice that Edom is bent on destroying these 2 particular kingdoms.  Sound familiar?

In His Love,

Suzanne

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
