In Matthew10:1-8, you read about Jesus sending out His disciples to heal the sick, cleanse the leper, raise the dead and cast out devils. It mentions in the first verse that He gave them power over all manner of sickness and disease. In Luke10:1-19, Jesus did the same with the 70 followers. He sent them out 2 by 2 to heal the sick, cast out devils, do mighty works for God. In vs 17, the came back saying, "Lord, even the devils are subject to us in Your Name." In other words, the beleivers have power and authority over the adversary the devil.

It didn't stop there. In Mark16:17,18, Jesus said that these signs shall follow them that believe. In His Name they shall cast out devils, speak with new tongues, they shall take up serpents and scorpions and any deadly thing they drink will not harm them and that they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.

What is refered to as serpents and scorpions? Jesus wasn't actually telling us to go to some cobra, python or a scorpion and manhandle the animal right? I mean, anything that Jesus would have us do, is to being glory to His Kingdom, so what was Jesus refering to? These are demons. We have power to subdue demonic spirits.

In Acts16:16-18, the apostle Paul cast out a spirit of divination. He recognized the spirit operating in the girl, and took authority in Jesus Name. In Acts5:12-16, many were brought to the apostles and they were healed. In acts chapter 3, Peter and John get a lame man healed in Name of Jesus.

Why are we not seeing a lot of supernatural healings and mircales in the body of Christ? Why is it that people come to church and they end up the same way before they came in? Why is it that people don't get delivered and get the help they need in many churches? :whistling:

Many are concerned about the atmosphere that can accompany some of these services.

Many denominations teach that Jesus was speaking only to the 12 and the 70, and that the things they did, no one else can do. When the last Apostles who were with Jesus died, then the signs and wonders ceased, and were no longer needed, because now they could read about it and get saved.

Jesus demonstrated exactly the nature of the Father, and what the Kingdom of Heaven is like.

To me it is about seeking. People don't seek Jesus in the USA. When Jesus does these miracles, these people are openly seeking him. Americans tend to think they know it all so they don't seek out Jesus.

Because we don't have people who are willing to pay the price to receive a greater annointing and do the same exploits that Jesus and the apostles did. Haven't you noticed most churches nowdays deny the power of God and are so cold you could ice skate up to the altar? It's a sad thing. Of course there are many "healers" who are false prophets, and many who are faking and shaking, but God knows who belong to him. The gift of discernment in a believer should warn them if the meeting / s are not of God's spirit. Then leave and have no part of it. Many people are not delivered after prayer because the prayER does not have enough annointing of God to fill a thimble. I actually know of people who go to "classes" to learn deliverance The only classes people need is found at the foot of the cross.

:emot-hug:, I'm just gald that I'm at a church that uses this supernatural gift and blessing

as the Holy Ghost reveal and God allows at any given time.

I also believe, unbelief is one of the factor.

alot of these miracles do happen today. I've been blessed to witness quite a few miracles of healing, and other miracles since I've been a christian.

But to answer one of your questions, alot of the problem is unbelief. Jesus said; "If you believe"; also the healing or miracle has to be in the will of God. I believe it is in James; it says; " You ask and you don't get what you ask for, because you ask amiss" or more clearly you ask for selfish purposes.

it's been a few years since I've prayed for the sick publicly in the open with others standing around; but when I did, I made sure the person I prayed for understood; that we were asking the Lord for their healing, and it was up to Him to heal them, I'm not the healer, I'm just the asker. Sometimes the Lord healed them sometimes He didn't.

Probably because most people in the healing and deliverance ministry make a "show" of it. They yell, scream, and shout in tongues. You ever see any evidence of Jesus or his disciples doing this? Jesus simply said "Come out" or "Be healed". I've been too to many churches that are more worried about the "healing and deliverance" than getting people saved or helping Christians in their walk with God.

Unfortunately, most of those I have heard in the ministry have a reputation of false teaching or twisting scripture. Because of this, when a true preacher comes around, the lie of the false teachers have already cast a shadow on the ministry as a whole. This is a true shame and those who are teaching falsely will be held responsible for their words and the negative affects they have caused.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
